But it seem to work on JP servers

Im trying to say that the high server population makes events like this hard. SE should of planned ahead.
Its terrible here on Odin too, been waiting around for ages to just get one but people are just killing them x_x
Well a main problem is they made them level 30, level 60's one shot them, only skill I've found on for example machinist that doesn't is wild fire.
Meanwhile, on Balmung

An administrator has responsed on the Japanese forums. Probably, someone will respond here too.
Basically:
We are very sorry!
We will begin thinking about countermeasures quickly!
However, to make sure fixing these contents doesn't have an effect on other contents,
there is a possibility that Final Fantasy will not be playable this weekend.
To proceed with this carefully, we expect the work to be done by the end of the weekend at the earliest.
When we know how we'll handle it and the date and time (etc), we'll notify you again.
We are so sorry to everyone who looked forward to this event.
We will urgently work on this, so please wait a little longer.
Or a translation of a translation
We are sorry, we expected people to actually work together, not run and do things on their own and troll eachother to prevent people from enjoying the event
We are working on a way of preventing selfish behavior now, but really wish that the playerbase was not full of impatient selfish people. We will rework the event
Please look forward to it.
Ripperinos. I was really looking forward to this event. I considering waking Selli up to do this at some ungodly hour of the morning, but from what I'm seeing I think the two of us might wait it out until there's a fix.
Reporting from Carbuncle.
There was chaos earlier but people are working well together now.
So far no disconnections or crashes on my end even though Eastern La Noscea has maybe 80% of online players LOL
I heared some pple done that quest with auto attack or auto attack from craft class and use what you have to use before it get killed Lol
Hope that help you a little !
I think reasons are players like to get events over with and move on to whatever they were doing before.
Wish was like that for silly Yo-kai event :(
Basically lots of white mages spamming holy and dk also spamming i imagine? Sounds horrible, i may very well not bother trying it when i get home tonight and wait a few days.
TBH though some fates are like this for the yo-Kai event as well, barely get any hits in. I do actually feel bad for new players to the game.
So the bombs that need to be caught are wandering around like normal enemies?
This might have been the time to lock something behind a fate so that high levels couldn't grief with AOE attacks.
I haven't had a chance to play yet (work). Is this a ridiculous fate based thing, or is it simply openworld mobs that have to be caught?
It's a really cute event. There is one fate (special one made for the event) in addition to 3 quests.
You earn vouchers to buy things with them. The 3rd quest went fine for me although i selected the minion and used square and selected attack. My bow other wise would kill it too fast then used the key item. I got the poses already on my main and want the lamp and music. Personally I don't care about the armor although I might get it if it fits in the armoire.
I'll be working my alts later today.
The two fates are the quickest way to earn vouchers... you get 3 for the first and 5 for the second.
I personally can't recall any public event with mobs you're supposed to weaken and capture that *anyone* can just walk up and attack, and I've been around since nearly ARR release :/Quote:
This isn't something new. This happens with every event, every year.
Yep they're level 30 mobs on the Bloodshore side of Eastern La Noscea. They're also pretty easy to kill even with regular attacks. Even if you manage to get one down to a low-enough HP so that you can catch them, the catching has a cast time so someone else can kill it before you get it.
You can only catch bombs that are red for you (first hit). Purple wouldn't count even if you hit it or even if you get its aggro.
I'm pretty sure after the initial rush everything will be fine. On sarg the entire server bumrushed it and everyone got through fairly quickly. Now there's only like 5 people doing it and the main crowd has moved on.
You're right, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's a poorly designed quest.
For example, all my classes are at level 60. If I was doing it alone, I have to take off all my armor and maybe wear a low level weapon to not kill the bomb. Even if I'm only hitting it with auto attack, a critical can kill it. I could switch to gatherer or crafter but then at that point, it's just ridiculous.
Although this was picked up by a user in this thread already, we have an update from the dev. team on this topic that we'd like to share.
First of all, please accept our most sincere apologies!
We are urgently looking into countermeasures to address these issues.
That said, we will need to confirm that any fixes do not affect any other content or processes, as this could potentially lead to issues that could render FFXIV unplayable over the weekend.
We need to be very careful with these tests, so we expect the fix to be ready at the start of next week at the earliest.
Once the timing and details have been determined we will be sure to update you all!
Once again, we sincerely apologise to everyone who has been looking forward to this event.
We are working with all haste to address this. Thank you for your patience!

Oh sweet, glorious lines, how I missed you so.
Thanks for the fast response! :)
While on this topic, could please pass the message that it would be good to give it more thought in future events and permanent content to how they may be played in low and high population scenarios? Both should be expected by now after different experiences with open world content, such as hunts and fates in past events. Also to think about what kind of griefing may happen and what can be done to avoid such situations. Sometimes it seems the dev team thinks too highly of the player base, and while that may be true for a large part of the community not everybody plays nicely, and that should be expected too.
I don't typically jump aboard the SE complain train, but jeez I am disappointed in this event. :(
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Still, could be worse :-)

Person complaining: "I'm going to wake up early and log in to complete the event as quick as possible"
Everyone Else: "I'm going to wake up early and log in to complete the event as quick as possible."
And people wonder why things like this happen. Just relax and have patience, it will thin out. I just logged in got to that quest and guess what? There was no one there doing the bombs...The problem comes when everyone decides to do the same thing at the same time.
I am rather disappointed the headgear reward was a coronet....instead of the actual mask the Posing Rangers wore.
You know you can always remove your armor and accessories then buy a cheap weapon. Work for me.
hmm so theres no items to buy from the last moonfire events? :(
