NIN is amazingly fun with Huton. Huton is so good that other DPS jobs feel slow to play. That 15% off of GCD is really noticeable.

Monk. The constant movement, fluid rotation, and hitting positionals whilst dodging a bunch of AOEs. Nothing is as satisfying as playing monk in Savage and thriving.
Warden's Paeon actually feels immensely (role) organic to me. Wanderer's Minuet perhaps not so much; it's acquisition is terrible, and at least as many Bards seem to give up on it entirely as find ways to really enjoy it. But I can't help but think that even some small changes would make it fine for the majority of players. I don't think most Bards hate losing their mobility outright... just, in that particular way. Increased Straighter Shot rates would be a bandaid fix, and a second stack of Straighter Shot would only make it feel less distinct from MCH, but even just reducing that lock-in time would go a long way in making it feel more rewarding than cumbersome.
Oh, I definitely agree. But, Warden's Paeon just doesn't work very well with how the job works right now, IMO. That, and the constant focus on DPS in the meta, ew. It's not just minuet though, but our whole rotation now is way more complicated than it ever needed to be.
I guess I just wanted more utility, and not a more mindnumbingly aggressive rotation. I really enjoy the support aspects of jobs a lot more.
After running as healer since day one, I decided to give some DPS classes a try. I do have SMN and BLM, but I was thinking more along the lines of a melee or ranged DPS for a huge changeup from casting. It's SO different!
I leveled ARC enough to unlock BRD. When I had to level PGL to unlock the job, I fell in love. I'm a HUGE Tifa fan, and love to see girls kick butt so I actually think this had my name all over it, and it just needed to be discovered. I didn't think I would like positionals, and I thought the different forms would confuse me, but I was wrong. The constant barrage of kicks and punches is so beautifully animated and during this I'm applying DoTs, counter attacks (if I have hate), a ground cracking AoE, a stun, changing 'Fists' stances, and even have a self cure. All while pummeling the mobs face until it caves in.
When my sis asked me why I keep shouting, "TOUCH OF DEATH, HIYAHH!" I knew that me and this class are going places. Can't wait to see what else in store in the coming levels!
Isn't it wonderful? Pugilists are so much fun! Now, my alt, Nonomy, is still a baby monk but I'm enjoying her as much now as I was while leveling up as a pugilist.
HIYAA!
Interestingly, I also fell in love with lancer while leveling monk. So, Nonomy is both a monk and a dragoon. Sometimes, I feel like giving the mobs a chop. Sometimes I feel like giving them a poke. :)
Bard is my favourite job in the game. I like how you can look cool, classy, silly, cute, or outright fabulous with the gear and bows and get away with it most of the time because bards are usually interesting and eccentric individuals. I am also a fan of being able to support my party with my songs: Foe Requiem to make my enemies vulnerable to the attack spells of my party, Mage's Ballad to help out the healers, summoners, and dark knights (provided they drop Darkside between pulls), Army's Paeon in case TP is needed, and the Warden's Paean to save the healers from spending a GCD on a cleanse (especially with a warrior in the party). Being able to spam Rain of Death in an AoE situation is very thrilling, Empyreal Arrow is nice for burst damage, and Iron Jaws makes it easier and more efficient to maintain your DoTs. Hell, you can also turn off Minuet for a bit of extra DPS provided you do it under the right conditions!
It's a shame there are those who don't like the job post-Minuet, but I love bard for all of its strengths and flaws. Nothing anyone can say will make me think otherwise.
Monk! Granted it doesn't mean anything coming from someone who hasn't played other classes to higher levels yet. However I can easily tell Monk is my favourite, I'm usually drawn to these types of classes. I can't stand mages because they're just so squishy, I don't like dying so easy just because of attire. But Black Mages do look pretty awesome from partying with them. :0
Paladin!
for real though, I like swapping between DRG and BRD, dragoon just feels so powerful and fast paced, and then Bard is slower but it feels more deliberate and I feel like I have more time to think everything through.
Summoner since its a very simple rotation for me and just how amazing it can be, wish the egis had something more to them but eh. Also ATM its the closest thing to a red mage in the game so its my fav.
no love for Dragoon? I think the rotation is really fun
DRG - I speak softly and carry a big stick.
Monk all the way, I've always had a soft spot for an unarmed playstyle, makes me feel like my character wouldn't be helpless if they were captured and had their weapons taken

Black Mage.
Why?
Boom Boom
Bard, I adore playing it at 50 because you can pull high numbers while barely looking at the screen, 60 it is a bit more tricky but super fun, I am getting much better at it, I used to play MCH, but I sort of got a bit tired of it after a while, will probably go back to it at some point.
I am not a massive melee DPS fan, but I have been having a blast levelling Dragoon, really digging the new 60 rotation, the whole Wheeling Thrust/Fang and Claw shtick isn't nearly as awkward as I thought it would be.
Summoner.
The class was an absolute bore at 50 with just dots and 3 festers every minute to manage. Enkindle being on a 5 minute cooldown was ridiculous.
HW changed a lot though. My jaw dropped the first time I saw bane hit more than 4 things. Painflare made AoE a lot more bursty. Tri-Disaster was a skill I could only dream of in ARR. I didn't care much for Ruin 3 until they buffed it to 200 potency, then weighing it's cost to potential damage made it really fun to play with.
Trance is a stroke of genius. It's gated behind Aetherflow, so you effectively use it every 60 seconds, this makes it line up with just about every other off global in your arsenal since SMN doesn't have any oddball 80 or 90 second CDs. If I had to describe SMN in one word it would be elegant. Everything simply lines up for your Trance burst every 60 seconds.
Summoner, it felt like I'm doing something when bane(so godly on HW) a lot of mobs to help the pty especially DT > Deathflare. It just 1 of the most reliable jobs to do constant dmg to get through dungeons fast. Trial/Raids.....well I'm not sure. An backup raise makes a relief for the healers to save MP to focus on their tanks. The duration of the fight though, it feels decent....if you stay consistent w/ your rotation.
1 thing that made me want to see a change for smn is the potency of ruin. Just a slight buff like 90 potency cause I looking at it as to keep w/ BLM due to their finite rotation, but I'm being greedy on it.
