Same I heard from Diadem in the first week it came out, just wait a few weeks and tell me then who is still doing maps *giggling to myself*

We gather guaranteed tomestones for gear, guaranteed gear upgrade tokens, guaranteed hunt tokens, guaranteed beast tribe tokens and rep, guaranteed grand company seals and guaranteed weapon tokens so I don't really get your point. Before the addition of Aquapolis I would've been inclined to say the gambling-oriented were playing the wrong game.
That's what makes it fun. Aquapolis in my opinion is best dungeon in this patch
It's great fun and a well executed feature.
I've had a ball with a few FC friends over Discord with them, we celebrated reaching room 7 and we Awwwwwwwwwww nooooooo'ed at the fail at room 1.
I love Aquapolis, even if it slaughtered the Thavnarian clothing market (which I consider the a negative aspect of it).
Aquapolis is awesome! Made it to the 6th room once. Got some pretty nice loot. I think it's a blast and has breathed some new life into the game. To all of you who are saying negative things about it, well, either don't worry about it and stick to the other content that the game has to offer, or stick with it and wait until you get some good loot and have a blast with a good group on one of your future Aquapolis runs. A good group of people, who are making the run enjoyable even when RNG isn't very rewarding, can make all the difference!
My group did two times 7th room in a row.
We opened the left door when /random = 0-499 and right door when /random = 500-999.
True story.
Though we broke the system, it didn't work a 3rd time. d:
Did my first maps this week end and i find it so cool, i keep jumping around everytime we get the portal and even happened to get some of the glamour stuff i wanted without having to pay millions \o/
My friends and I had a blast in Aquapolis and the RNG doors made it super fun, no complains at all, if you don't want to try your luck, then sell the maps and profit from it, if you want to get some good laughs with friends, then use the maps and test your luck.
People and their need to be rewarded 100% of the times with guaranteed success.
The market on Excalibur is fine, Aquapolis isn't really destroying it at all, it is just adding to the stock that is on high demand because of the new crafted gear for gathering and crafting.
This has breathed new life into our FC. It's not something restricted by role or number of people we have online...We go out and help someone with their Map and the pop rate is a 50/50 change.
No one is butt hurt if it doesn't pop but we do quite a few each day (a lot of gatherers in our FC) and it's good roll of the dice. We got to the 7th floor twice and I netted nearly 500k in stuff (cash and drops) and it wasnt even my map. All lotted treasure are greed rolled (except for the holder who can need).
It makes for a really nice change in pace and i'm looking forward to Palace of the Dead. Really this should have been put in long ago as I was contemplating on leaving at 3.2. 3.3 changed all of that xD
It's super fun! It's just random luck. Sometimes you'll get really far, other times you'll get kicked out on the first chamber.
It doesn't need to be changed at all. It's a brilliant little piece of content and I hope they expand upon it in future patches!
Only thing they really should do in there is add Esoteric tomes.
Its a nice money making place. And it's fun tho super easy. There's no real threat.
I've enjoyed it so far and have made it to room 7 once out of 8 times lol But I see this going the Diadem route. In a month no one will be doing maps. The market will be saturated by the items it provides and there'll be no more reason to run it
Sometimes doing maps is more attractive and many ppl do them, sometimes it's less attractive and only few do them.
But they never ever died out on my server in a way like the price for timeworn dragonskin drops to nothing.
There are always some people doing them and opposite to Diadem it's an 10 min activity, you can do it with even 2-3 players and you don't have to queue an hour for.
Also the songs and minions from there will stay at several million for at least some weeks. Blue bird did this for months too.
I don't have much of an opinion on it yet. So far, I've probably done about 20 maps with FC peeps, and only gotten into Aquapolis three times and have yet to past the third room.
EDIT: Oooh, one thing that I'm very happy about is that it has severely dropped the price of the Nutkin on my server. I've wanted one for so long and was never willing to pay 5,000,000 for one, so I'm extremely happy I was able to buy one now that they are much cheaper.
I don't understand the negativity surrounding the Aquapolis. You aren't missing anything other than more gil and possibly minions or glamours that you can get elsewhere if you don't get lucky with the doors. RNG for bonuses like this is perfectly fine because all you're doing is getting extras, not getting stuff for relics or the like.
It's pretty fun. I reached the final room for the first time yesterday. It's a great place to go with some friends - or even just with a random group formed through the party finder. There's a lot of potential, too, if additional items are added over time. It's also a pretty good experiment for the developers to use for future content.
Ok, say SE removed the RNG element and opened the entire dungeon up to everyone (once you spawned the portal). Now you can roam freely through all the rooms. Next thing you'll complain about is your drops were not as good or as rare as someone else and demand fixed drops. Just be happy they give us access to free content with the consistency that they do.
