Simply put no. Not even a chance with a life. Excalibur here. Came online, all that was left were 3 plot in total over the whole server. And that all were small ones. SE should put a limit on them so they can only be purchased after a while after the server goes up, so people with a friggin life have a chance as well.
yes i did hooray
Yes! I managed to get a low queue on Balmung and got a small for myself and my husband character! Didn't get the plot we had originally scouted out before maintenance, but we got plot 25 in the Mist. I'll happily settle for "Almost-beachfront-property" lol
Nope. Logged in right as the server came up but was about 2k in the queue and by the time I actually got in they were gone already. At least in Mist, which is where I wanted it.
Yup. I also gave them away to people who really wanted one and they were sad, so giving some people their houses made their day.
Nope all houses/all wards/ on Gilgamesh was gone in under 10 minutes. Now people are asking to buy homes in party finder and some are reselling the plots. A small for 35mil. I really wish SE would of looked at server population and added more wards according to the demand.
I am really hoping they acknowledge this or just say something about it.
they've dropped the ball on housing since inception. Totally cuts out a piece of content from a huge portion of the playerbase.
Nope
Like many, got booted twice from lobby then slap w/ 1337 queue(no joke really that number in queue). By the time I got on, all sold out.
My sub expires July 1st if I don't have a house for my FC by then I'm just going to had the gil we busted our asses to get and cancel my sub. I've never seen a CF like this ever.
Didn't get the house, but it was kind of funny seeing this one pompous reseller in Mordion Gaol. Was attempting to resell over fifteen houses, apparently.

Yes, I finally managed to get one! :) Still a bunch left on Brynhildr too. My sympathies to the folks who weren't able to get a house. Sounds like the high population servers were a complete nightmare.
I didn't get the house which I scouted for, but I did get another house in same housing area.
Due multiple Lobby Connection Errors, I had queue of 410 - might have been able to purchase my first choice if those errors would've not happened.

I play on a low population server and our fc managed to get ours, granted we wanted mist plot 19 and ended up getting 20 but that's irrelevant. It was obviously owing to be an issue on high population servers, if a house is that important just migrate? The wards are all half empty here still
Yeah I can understand that but then housing isn't all that matters to them. Some people make out like without housing there is no point in playing. It sucks for people on the high population servers especially as the number of people flipping houses will be far greater than here
Reactivated my account for housing alone, and could not log in before going to work. I don't mean to sound pompous, but I can't take off from work for a game due to the nature of my career. I expect all the house plots to be gone by the time I am able to get home. If that's the case, I'll unsub again. Housing was the main thing I was interested in besides neo Nyzul Isle (which isn't until a half patch after this one or so), so I have very little interest in playing if I can't own a small house. Ultima Online a decade ago realized the problems with people owning multiple houses versus the demand for houses and fixed that; why is this still a thing?
For what it's worth, I'm not on Famfrit anymore as this is a character I don't play displayed on my profile.
More of just a friendly heads up really that low pop servers have loads stoll available of anyone's willing to migrate.
Leaving friends aside, you can't take all your gil with you, can you? You'd be at the mercy of buying stock on your server, transferring, and trying to resell to get gil back, wouldn't you? I guess technically you could probably look into buying the currency that sells directly for gil to NPCs for money laundering.
Actually, yeah, I'd say that's ok. Maybe not the most classy move on their part, But the problem is with players buying up multiple houses and then flipping them. With how prevalent flipping is, you can't really blame players who managed to grab their houses legitimately with the intent to use them as intended for being excited and happy to own a house.
The problem with this is by the time these people migrate their characters and level up a new FC these houses are bound to be gone as well.
On Malboro individual players are scooping up all the houses. It's so obvious they are resellers.
SE needs to re-think this housing system. Personal housing should not be sharing lots with FC housing.
My FC finally got a house in the Beds, and a friend of mine was able to purchase a small plot in the Mist. Our FC didn't get the house we wanted but we got our second choice/back up plot. I'm glad we were finally able to get one. I'm not sure if all have sold yet on Cactuar because I'm at work, but around an hour ago there were still some plots left in the Beds.
On Odin the competition for houses was way more fierce than during last Christmas! My queue was 400+ after a kick from the lobby server and a swift return. The best plots were gone before I could get there even though I spammed the login buttons as fast as I could. The rest were gone in 10 minutes. Thank Halone my game didn't crash and dump me at the back of the presumably massive queue...
Managed to get a medium in LB. I aimed for a lakeside house but after losing a race to two different plots I panicked and ported to a medium house on higher ground. It has excellent MB and summoning bell access at least. There's a flowing river nearby and you can hear the waterfall; quite a good view and location for the cheapest kind of medium plot. :)
My bf will add some stuff in the house when he has time and we're going to decorate it together. ^^ I find this arrangement much nicer than having two separate houses.
I got mine, but man... what a mess. 1016s and a mad dash. This is really unfortunate for many who want a house but were unable to login for the first 5 minutes of the patch.
I'm on Balmung and obviously didn't get a house due to the aforementioned zerg. However, I'm really happy with the way that Square handled this patch, lack of housing aside. This is the very first patch that Balmung hasn't imploded in on itself within minutes of the patch going live. Usually I get the patch downloaded the night before, log in for about 2 and a half minutles, the server implodes, and I twiddle my thumbs for an hour or so while the server carefully tries to work through its PTSD of having all those concurrent login attempts. Today, despite the housing being gone when I got in 10 minutes too late, I was able to jump right into doing other activities.
I was quite surprised, some houses were taken fast, so a lot of us on Cerbs may have not gotten the plots that we wanted, but there's still a small up in Goblet atm. So those FCs who were looking for a house just for the features, they should all be happy. I thought all plots would have been gone here within 20 minutes!
AHAHAHA. No.
I'm disappointed but not surprised. When a large majority of players already don't have housing, increasing it by 50% never had a chance of doing anything but leaving people disappointed again. I don't think this is going to change. SE's behavior up to now gives no indication that there will ever be a big increase in housing. My pet theory is that they designed the housing features to take up too many server resources for it ever to be economical for them to actually provide sufficient housing for the player base. I would love to be wrong on this, but I don't see it happening.
It's probably good for my bank account. I lost interest in the game, and the naive belief of the possibility of getting a house is all that got me to resubscribe. I'm just going to let it lapse. Next time they announce new housing, unless they're doing something to expand to fill any demand, I probably won't bother.
Could you perhaps give us an example of how many plots are still available? I see lots of people saying they have plots open on their servers but no one in their right mind is going too spend 18 dollars moving to a server and getting back all their gil only too find out everything is gone anyway.
Not trying too sound rude but for most people transferring in the first place is a big move and as much as I and many others would like a home, that doesnt change the fact that many low pop servers are still selling out on plots right now.
Housing was gone in first 15 mins as well for those of us stuck in congestion we couldnt even get a Small FC house. 95% of the houses were bought by individuals and half of them are offering to vacate at outrageous prices. This is sad on high population servers. want the community to get things done but have to deal with people that are greedy for no apparent reason.
SE should have implemented a restriction for one personal house per account per server and just made it accessable to all your charactors.
