Interesting is this the first time they have done this?
These prices are stupidly expensive. I have no problem with cosmetic cash shop items, but these prices are laughable, especially for a subscription based game.
These are just vanity items just like the mounts and minions. There is no difference. The price may be ridiculous, but the mounts are worse, well at least you can use the mounts almost anywhere. Vanity items are just to show off. Most people were saying in the beginning of the cash shop that as long as vanity items are the only things added in cash shops, it would be fine, well there you go, more vanity items, only this time, for homeowners.
$15 to jazz up the FC house a bit? Count me in. Everyone gets to enjoy it so I think it's worth it.

Bit of a weird clipping issue at the bottom of the aura but that's just the table I have it on.
I'm bitter. I love cosmetics and one of the reasons I play FFXIV is because I can get them in game, I don't need to throw 15$ for something that I find cute. I pay my sub and play. I really hope that we can still have events with casual costumes and crafted glamour. :(
Gladly, I'm not very fond of these versions, the normal moogle plush is wayy better and less exaggerated.
But in a lot of cases it wouldn't be developed and in the game because when they planned to create it, it was with the assumption that the additional revenue from the sales would cover the cost of the development.
We get our money's worth with our subs. If we didn't it would be a problem. They have a set budget that they are going to have to spend of development. If they or we want to see anything developed beyond that they need to have additional sources of revenue.
TLDR You get what you pay for with you sub in game. Anything in the cash shop is extra. When they release a patch with a lack of items and glamour then it will be fair to argue that its a poor deal.
The new moogle item.

Make cash shop items tradable, please. (Yes, I know you can probably do it with these in a roundabout way)
As long as they can be traded, I'm fine with them.
Wow, that is just a stretched texture (without the weird wood-like filter the small one has). That's really unfortunate and disappointing, even beyond the ridiculous price of $15 to resize a model and resize the texture without even resampling it with a decent filter to keep it from blurring so much and looking terrible.
Edit: Realized there are other close pictures on the Mog station.

Slowly they keep pushing slowly.
As usual, the thread will end with a community divided pro/against it and nothing happens, then in a couple months when everything calms down they silently add a few more items, people argue again, divided opinions, nothing happens, they add more.... The never ending cycle where the only one who benefits is SE, in the end one side is giving them free money and the other considers it too small of an issue to quit over it.
Sad but true and while I have nothing against people having their own opinion, the only thing that speaks right now is money: if people buy these new items they'll add more, if they don't they might add less or never again.
But considering that the cash shop is getting more silly things that could be released in-game with ease, I think we all know the answer...
PS: expect the worst in the future, such as wards and even unique weapon skins.
They're just testing how much they can get away with at this point. Furniture, seasonal items, npc only gear that already exists in game? Well it's only for glamour purposes but when will they decide to draw the line in the sand?
I predict that one day they will begin selling reskinned raid gear but only at lvl 1 for glamours. We'll finally have that dyeable high-allagan or (insert future raid here) accessories that already exist in-game but you'll need to buy the full, slightly customizable set for $15! Meanwhile I can only envision the comments; "Well it's an outdated raid anyway it's only for glamour now" or "now crafters won't be able to take advantage of the market yay!"
For a playerbase that complains so much about there being not enough incentives to run content, there sure are a lot of people who like to pay to get their rewards instantly. Not having any of this being reward for content is just slowly killing incentives to run anything at all.
I once made a thread for premium wards, not because I'm in favor of it, but just because I wanted to see all these people who now speak in favor of the cash shop suddenly go against premium wards http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...you-pay-for-it but hey, premium wards aren't p2w, it's just vanity content!
The double standard is fun.
@Darsho The testing part already happened with the previous exclusives, now they are just going all out.
It is mind blowing that people still defend the cash shop saying that the money goes back into the game when it clearly doesn't. We have been getting less and less content with each patch. Down to two dungeons instead of three. Main story has been getting shorter (last patch wasn't so bad but..), a massive grand total of TWO hildy quests (really???), and the formula for content is copy paste (dungeons, tomes, 8 man raid, 24 man raid, blah blah blah). Here is to hoping the palace of the dead thing isn't a total flop (looking at you vermillion and diadem)
video of the moogle if anyone cares. easier to see the texture and size this way.

For reference I am the shortest lala possible.
That is exactly where the cash is going. Just look at how much they are dumping in to promoting FFXV. It even has it's own anime and movie. I know of two people that between the both of them could completely fund the entire next expansion just with the amount of money they drop in fantasia potions. They can afford to hire more people of that was really the issue. But I really don't think it is. The issue is that $E is riding this cash cow for what it is worth to find other project and line their pockets.
Atleast we get these items at all. They could have just opted not to bother....
Besides, its all Vanity items. You don't get an edge in the game for having it. It's all just for fun.
My 1st thought when I saw that housing stuff for real $ € Yen -> -_- ...
When I saw those ridiculous Prices -> pff o.O Are they nuts?!
I don't like cash shop exclusivity for one. I recall Yoshi-P once saying it would only have the fantasias and my sister and I saw even back in 1.0 during that live letter that it would progress into more and more items.
Another thing I don't like is Cid's gear is gender specific so if you're not a guy you can't use it.
Maybe that's what they meant with this:

Those games also have the ability for ALL players to have a real house. In fact Rift GIVES you a free starter home and a few items for it just for reaching level 6 and doing a small quest. I mean look at the hoops we have to jump through just to get a room with a free company house.
And this is from a free to play game...honestly, I expected better from SE and a pay to play game.
I'm not too concerned that its cash shop exclusive because it's pure vanity.
But I take issue with the prices. They are at least twice as high as they should be ><.
Normally I don't bat an eye at Mogstation stuff, because it's all vanity and old event items I don't care about. Sleipnir for $25? whatever - similar prices to WoW's stuff, if not a little cheaper (cash shop minions in WoW are usually $10). Event items were always priced kind of silly. I really wonder how many sales of zodiac helmets they've had.
Furnishings for $15 though without any guarantee that you keep ownership of the furnishing? The cost is too high imo but the latter is ridiculous. That anyone with permissions can just walk away with $15 of yours if you place it in shared space is sinfully short-sighted. Even your personal FC room isn't safe since they still haven't fixed FC leadership being able to lock people out of the house.
"B-b-but...it's not final fantasy!" or something like that. Frankly I did say this to several people and the response was "This housing system is far better and works as intended". Of course if they mean "constant lack of plots and 45 days reclaim" as "Working as intended" then I'm sure they're right.
I mean I quit SWTOR a year ago and when I went back to my old house it was still there, with everything I left from last time. If i leave here for barely 2 months I lose everything I worked so hard for. Sure at least I get a refund but come on, way to ruin your time by coming back and seeing your house gone! I'm sure they knew that the lack of content would've made people leave so here I am, unable to unsub for more than 1 month without risking to lose my house.
And I also played Wildstar and that housing was such a good thing there. And yes, if I quit for a long time I can still come back and find everything I left just there untouched. Way to go!
So yeah, on top of having badly implemented housing, lack of plots and a housing reclaim that essentially forces you to stay subbed, now we have items that we must pay with real money AND they can be easily lost by just removing them...I wouldn't complain if they were a buck or two but come on, 10 euros?
Shame that none of the stuff off the MogStation actually goes towards making FFXIV better, but at least I'll see Kingdom Hearts 3 within my lifetime now.
