Add Moogle Attire Costume to Mog Station

See that's the second time you try ascribing motivations to other people, even when someone posted that your assessment is clearly mistaken. Doubling down and going "nu-uh" doesn't change the fact that people can like having something, and think it's cool, without tying their sense of self-worth to it.

The fact that they're digital items of no real import (no shit?) isn't relevant, since the same thing could be used to argue that if they're so pointless, why do the people without them get so worked up about HAVING to have them?

Someone else getting the item doesn't change it's coolness or you liking it. Why would you deny others the item then? If it is not some digital ego trip. The item is still 100% the same item on your account it doesn't have less features the more people get it.

If they make them available for purchase and you start seeing more of them in the wild, it is literally less unique, and part of what I like about the item is its perceived uniqueness.

But that has nothing to do with self-worth or my perceived relation to other players. It's a handful of digital items, as you seemed so keen to point out. All that part of your post is what I took objection to.

The thing is, the minions and emotes they supply with their merchandise are meant as an added bonus when purchasing the merchandise itself. I read a lot of comments from others saying that they are being locked out of the things they want or being punished because they didn’t buy the merchandise. Within those comments they would specifically refer to the minions and emotes supplied with the merchandise.

The most silly and backwards comments I’ve seen, are from people saying that they have to pay 100 dollars for an emote. I mean, really? You should be paying 100 dollars because you really want to have statue ( which happens to give you an emote as a bonus), not the other way around…

It seems to me that the toy is the bonus here.

People are right to complain about those, SE ties highly appealing ingame items to expensive merchandise/services that not everyone have interest into.

The moment they add Fanfest stream costumes to the Mogstation, nobody would buy the stream of the next Fanfest, because SE will add it to the Mogstation later anyway.
Except maybe if it cost in the Mogstation much more than the stream had cost.

I mean, if someone if fine with dropping $100 on a digital EMOTE and not a very cool statue, that's their choice, I guess. I personally like all the merchandise I have (all three artbooks, Before the Fall and Heavensward OSTs, Cait Sith plush, Carby plushies), and bought them for the items themselves. The minions were a bonus. I can justify a little indulgence on digital items, but I couldn't justify spending $100 on an emote that most will probably spam for a month or two and then hardly touch it after the "shiny new toy" status wears off. That's just unreasonable to me. But, my opinion.

I do find it amusing reading how some people are like "They're digital items! Who cares if they're so exclusive! They don't really matter because the game/servers could shut down tomorrow for all we know."

If they're just digital items that aren't that important, and that could be lost tomorrow if the servers shut down, why keep posting and making threads demanding exclusives? I'd much rather SE, if they brought them back, to bring them back with the items as well. (Of course, I wish they could at least keep a stock of the Before Meteor and ARR OSTs. Every time I go to buy them, they're not available. >.>)

While I don't disagree that many people agree with you on that, it's not the intended use of the item. The digital bonus inherently has no value, whereas the physical item does (even if that value is only the sum of its materials). No one in their right mind would expect sane people to buy the physical item solely for the sake of getting the digital, however, I've seen people claim they bought the Zantetsuken emote and just chucked the statue after.

I'd kinda like to see the emote make it into the mogstation eventually just to spite the people dumb enough to do that.

We did it forums! Now please release Wind-up Bahamut, Dalamud for like $25 USD? I think 3 years exclusivity for those minions + the fact we don't also get a soundtrack with it is kind of fair to everyone.

The "We did it forums!" was meant to be a joke. But weather or not SQEX had a plan or not for it, I'm sure the EN Community Team mentioned how people on the EN forums were supportive of the idea which would have helped with making it a possibility. If this thread was full of many people mentioning how this was a very bad idea, I doubt the moggle costume would have been released since they certainly have more than enough stuff to put into mog station to make good profit.
