I fail to see it. When I was leveling up it felt pretty much the same tbh. Just fiddled with skills whenever I got them and welp we gud bois.
It's almost the same for any other job, granted I will make an exception for BLM and SMN.

Almost 10 pages of responses and you're pretty much on a neverending loop trying to justify how you're right even though everyone else seems to see it otherwise, OP. Might be a good time to stop.

As for the thread itself, I'm not even trying and my WHM is 56 at the moment. It was 50 last friday. As a healer I can't do anything else because the duty instapops most of the time. I can't do leves, or FATE grinding, or beast tribes to add on the exp while waiting for the duty. It's straight up dungeon. All I did was: 2 or 3 runs on a dungeon at the same level range as mine + roulettes. That, of course, with hours of AFKing, chit-chat and "I'm done for today let's do something else".

At this point I'm seeing it more like you're just burned out of the game because you play it too much, or you're just forcing yourself into something you don't want to do because why not. When you like a class you don't mind playing with it over and over again because it's fun and you're able to enjoy your time while doing so. If that's not your case then why bother to level in the first place? It isn't worth to play something you don't like just for the sake of "I have all classes at 60 but I don't like any of them, filthy mortals.". If your leveling experience is so bad then take it easy, go do something else and come back when you feel like continuing your progress. It's simple enough.

i have a friend who was GM in private server of R.O they made.. used to piss me off cause would randomly appear in front of me and boost me to maximum level or spawn a gazillion rare drops in front of me and then vanish even if i created a new charcter n didnt tell him he still knew was me n done the same thing ._. and he always asked why i stopped playing lol

even on private high rate servers getting to level 255 was so painful...

At nearly 2300 posts maybe if the OP spent as much time in game as he did on the forums maybe he wouldn't have such a hard time leveling.

nah it turned me off the game.. i dont aim to be the best in any game but i like to actually achieve things doing them myself :3 asked him so many times not to but he still did so i just stopped playing lol

OP is right, many people are just band wagoning instant reading crap without actually thinking about level grinds. The 2x event is an excellent idea and as many of you already said, the game is designed to throw level 60 at you fast right? Well it's easy to learn the basics of a class and grinding to 60 just to obtain 5 new skills won't make a ground breaking change in a player's gameplay. The sooner you give them 60, the sooner they can learn how all the mechanics tie in at once. However, the grind is serious pain in the ass. I don't want to do The Vault or The Aerys 100+ times as a DPS/Healer/Tank. I already know it's going to be -> drag 3 monsters -> kill them/heal/hold hate -> boss -> repeat and rinse.

Also, the more people are level 60, the more we can have faster queues because of diversified classes spread out across the board.

A 2x exp weekend would be fine, time it with the free player weekends and it should be fine enough.

Only for level 60 dungeons and dailies. Everything below, which is the majority, would experience queue times much much longer which would make the grind even more difficult.

Occasional 2X events are fine. Those arent what people here are arguing against.

I don't think that is possible even with 2000%+ Experience. Don't know what that nonsense is but your blowing it overboard.

The entire point of the thread was to reward people who had multiple level 60s for each level 60 they had until the next expansion came out.

I've no issue with seeing up to 50% faster leveling, essentially a couple dungeons (or a leveling and trial roulette) and a few FATEs per level, but I don't see it as being necessary either. I do however dislike the benchmark you've chosen for it. At present, we get tremendous bonus experience on all but our highest level job. There's no arbitrary check of having one, let alone two level 60s, which could otherwise push us to leveling to 60 a job we don't necessarily want to finish at the moment. Placing it at exactly 60 encourages people to rush for 2 60s immediately, regardless of what they'd actually want to level, and then gives no further bonuses after that point. I'd rather see something that continuously adds on to the bonus, but in a de-exponential fashion or similar.

For instance: Armory bonus: Increases experience gains from combat and non-quest rewards by 50+(1-log<all levels of classes/jobs above your equipped level>)%.

e.g.
Level 30 - with a level 40, 60, 60, 60, 36, and 33 = additional 104% exp., or +154% exp rate total, +204% when rested. (Only a 54% increase over current when you consider that there's no longer an additional 50% bonus when under level 50.)
Level 50 - with 3 60s = additional 48% exp, or a total of +98% exp rate.
Level 50 - with 2 60s = additional 30% exp, or +80% total
Level 50 - with 1 60, nothing else above 50 = 0% additional exp, or +50% total
Level 50 - with a 52, 54, and 60 = additional 20% exp
etc. etc.

Speed you through the worst levels, and adds tapering gains with each class/job leveled in the category.

Note that the most this could ever get to even with, say, 9 60s is a 95% bonus at level 50, 90% at 51, 86% at 52, 79% at 53, 73% at 54, 65% at 55, 55% at 56, 43% at 57, 26% at 58, and 0% at 59.

(This math is not even of spit-balled quality. However, it does demonstrate what I'd go for with a system like this.)

Can you bring some useful ideas on the table and cut on the whining ? Not a single penny for your thought op , cause as others have stated the game is already too friendly and really if i wanted wow, i would play wow and not ffxiv. But it's nice to see every now and then a more useless topic, it doesn't bring drama to eat popcorn, just a dump of text .

Back in ARR, I might have agreed with your suggestion OP, but right now we have:

1. Levequests
2. FATES (they are buffed)
3. Roulettes
4. Beast Tribe quests
5. Challenge Log

Aslong as the player does this and eats food + FC buff, they will level realy fast. I spend leveling my WHM 2 hours a day from 50-60 and in 10 hours I became level 60. I knew for sure that if I hadnt spend time ingame doing pointless things, I could have been level 60 way sooner.

I dont know if they fixed this, but in ARR I remember there being a gap between level 40-45 and level 47-49. If this hasnt been fixed, I would agree that there needs a exp boost for those levels.

If you want all your classes at level 60 you'll just have to suck it up and start grinding. The rest of us managed to pull it off, you can too.

If you already have a job at 50 and want to get it to 60, just doing your dailies and you'll be at lv60 in a week or two.
But if you're in a rush i guess spaming dungeons/fates is the way to go

Fortunately, Heavensward-Dungeons are giving double exp since a few months ago. You can go from 59 to 60 within 3 Gubal-runs.

My only complain is, that the challenge log will not increase the EXP reward with every level up since level 50. I mean, around 80k EXP Bonus is pretty nice with 50, but much worthless with 59. Is there no chance to increase the max until 60?

Doing dungeons/roulette all the time as a DPS can take much longer than as a tank-class.
Levequests can be nice, but its annoying to travel back and forth every 3 levequests.
The new Beast Tribe Quests can help, but you still can do 3 or 6 per day.
Challenge Log stops at Level 50.
Daily Hunts can give you EXP too, but not that much.
And FATEs arent that good at the moment.

I dont expect to have a "Gimme all classes to 60 now"-Button. But it took much more effort and time to get all DoW-Classes to 60 compared to all DoL/DoH-Classes (which took only a few weeks for all).

I wished there would be some kind of potion you can get after you earn a fixed amount of EXP in Level 60 Dungeons. Like doing 10 Level 60 Dungeons with your main class and you got a level-up-potion for your second class. Hell, if I have the option, I would rather buy 5 Level-Up-Potion for 500k Gil or 5 bucks xD But thats unrealistic and would cause more problems. Some people might say: Playing a class to 60 will help to learn the class. But the truth is: There are still many people to grind brainless to 60 and arent still able to play their own class. So thats not a valid argument to me.

So... I m still wondering: What is the most effective/fastest way to level up at the moment? How is it possible to get from 50 to 60 withing 10 hours? O_o

without any real calculations a lvl 50 fate gives 25k exp (normal fate not big boss fate) times that 2000% or x20 and you get 500k exp for 1 fate. its 800k exp for to go from lvl 50-51 1.2mil for 51-52, literally 2 and 3 fates.

What you should ask is for more leveling content with good exp

It's really easy to leveling after you get your first class on 60.

for each level up after 50 you need about ~4-5 dungeons. Fates, Hunting Logs etc. not included. Let's take 2.5h per Level --> 25h for Level 60.
It's not that much though.

And leveling is fun :)

But if you are lazy... maybe you shouldn't play all classes. cause lazy players are doing most times no damage in dungeons and are incredible bad ^^

I disagree with the notion that the best way to learn a job is to book it to 60, get all your abilities, and THEN learn the job. The addition of DRK made it painfully, PAINFULLY clear that dropping a newbie into a dungeon with no notion of what it took to build up to those abilities is a recipe for disaster - even just at level 30! Doing the same for level 60 would be so much worse. Before a tank can tank, they need to know how enmity works. Before a BLM can master Enochian, they need to understand how to maintain Astral Fire.

Also, as for the whole "unfun" aspect, you have no one but yourself to blame if you reached level 60 through three days of endless FATE grinding. Forget about FATEs. Not only are they boring, but they don't teach you your job at all. Stick to daily Roulettes. Sure, you won't get your job to 60 in half a week like you could with FATEs - but why do you need your job capped that quickly? It takes less than a year to cap every class by way of Daily Roulettes, and most of us will be playing this game far, far longer than a single year.

None of these things are necessarily learned by spending more time in leveling though. There are plenty of players who can read the ability book and know 90% how the job should be played. But there are also people who will do 500 dungeons and still not know how to Cleric Stance, or even why it's not a good idea to spend your time idle unless you're starved or will be starved on mana. I'll agree that it doesn't take long to level everything to 60, so I don't think there's any dire need for speed improvements. But there's definitely no need to not to do so, either. Small increases to leveling rate are not going to hurt anyone. If anything, leaving as is a model that gives neither substantial challenge nor support during the leveling process will.

Also, are FATEs actually still the fastest exp farms on your server, even? 50-60 AST took all of 7 hrs for me just off dungeons. I honestly don't remember DRG or BLM going nearly that fast off FATEs. I wonder how much mindlessness is just an unfortunate side-effect compared to the actual *attraction* of FATEs, where they're still active nowadays (apart from DPS avoiding ridiculous queue times).

maybe if increased exp come together with increased difficulty in dungeons and FATEs, so the players have to work and the content need longer for the reward.

"Fun" is highly subjective, though. What you find "fun" might be really boring for something else, and likewise some people enjoy the levelling experience. Felis had a good point though in that there are a multitude of ways to do said levelling, and IMO the best way is to vary the means you use. I've saved as many sidequests as possible while levelling up my first class (due to MSQ experience benefit), and use those when I'm at the appropriate level for subsequent classes. I do the challenge log as much as I care to. I'm a very slow leveller since I'm not actively levelling stuff every day, so I only have two (WAR and ACN/SCH), and two more heading there slowly. Am I happy for the armoury bonus? Sure. Even more so once I learned (just a few weeks ago, dammit!) that the exp bonus equipment work when you're synched down to appropriate levels for them. Do I want insane increases in the armoury bonus? Not really.

Not entirely true =) You still get the armoury bonus on mob kills, and since dungeon mobs give a LOT more exp than open world mobs, that boost is quite nice.



Also, took those screenshots to prove full armoury bonus without a level 60, and without even a level 50 class. All you need is to not be on your highest class to get it.

aren't like... active things that can result in "fun". They're just multipliers to EXP that you get through other activities, like dungeons and FATEs. Dungeons and FATEs can be counted as activities that are "fun", but that's pretty much all we've got to actually earn EXP. Even the challenge log specifically rewards doing those things, and those are the things we do every time we level any job. I think it's fair to say that it'd be nice to have other options to break up the monotony.

Basically I don't like that I don't get to use the highest damage "Aeolian Edge" as much as I would like because I'm constantly having to refresh dots or put up Armor Break or something. Then I level a Machinist to 60 and that's got a super complicated and intricate opener that if you don't do ever so precisely your DPS SUCKS. Not fun. I also leveled Warrior and while it's alright I don't always want to tank 100% of the time.

Finally got my monk to 60 and at least I love my monk..

That is the issue. The system literally punishes players like you who don't like your class and playstyles, and people don't know that perhaps maybe even why there are so many bad high level players. Players love the class leveling and get to 52ish to 60 and the class completely changes, yet they put so much effort into the class they don't want to change.

However they know for a fact they don't play it very well.

For example, that other dude earlier said when he played BARD he didn't feel a big change at all when he got WM. However, all of my bard friends said they dropped the class. They played for so long the other way, being a mobile dps and now they are locked in place and have to be to deal damage now. That is a huge change to the class, one high level skill changed their entire playstyle.
