If you could add anything to FFXIV and know it would be implemented, what would it be

Unrestricted Dream:
An instanced Housing system that allowed upgrades to number of rooms, amount of land and how it is shaped around our yard, advanced gardening plots, terrain changes like ponds, long or short grass, flower types.
Random (rare) NPC encounters on your own plot in which you can purchase rare items for gil (like dungeon minions, Ex primal drops) or emote at them a specific way to earn achievements (and thus a reward).

Something that wouldn't take so much work:
Allow some materials to be used in place of others. For example X Whetstone can be used instead of Y Whetstone because we have so many freaking materials that serve a single purpose, it seems like a large data waste.

FFXI's job merits

Instead of wasting exp past level 60, you can pour that exp into direct stat modifications to your character across all jobs.

Merits would need to cost a million exp to be comparable to what they were in XI, but that's not so bad. 10 million otherwise wasted exp for +10 accuracy? {Yes please.}

Merits could also later on be spent for access to special battlefields.

I would add:

1: A big PvP map like what Guild Wars 2 and The Elder Scrolls Online has. To achieve this, they will need to make it so the player is a mercenary and not a member of a Grand Company. If able they should remove the Grand Company restriction from all PvP matches.

2. Character account features like what Guild Wars 2 has. In Guild Wars 2 you unlock skins of armour and they are saved on your account. Whenever you want to wear them, you click on it and you wear the outfit over your combat gear. I reckon the server memory issue will be in the way, but this system will save up alot of inventory space and make the game alt friendly.

1.) An event very similar to Dynamis from FFXI.

2.) A style system exactly the same as DC Universe Online.

Come on devs. DCUO is free to play. Play the game. Evaluate the style system. Speak with their dev team, if necessary. Realize that even a F2P-ish game like DCUO has a system that does not require a player to hoard every single item that they "might" wish to use as glamour, allows players to use items to acquire "styles", and allows players to equip an item once, and then toss the item, but still gives the player the ability to use the style (look) of that item anytime they want in the future.

New Gear Slot:

Stilts.

None of these damn houses are designed for short people.


Also...

/flirt, /whistle etc emotes.... We can get married in this game... but there are no flirt emotes.... What kind of logic is that?

The ability to consolidate a gear set into one inventory slot.

Better faces for every race/gender. I feel most are pretty bad looking, or every race has only 1 good face.

Parser with relevant battle data calculations.

Horizontal progression.

More rare items and achievements that everyone doesn't have access to allow for more originality.

A FC house log book, allowing members to put messages for all members, 240 characters or less, and time stamped. The FC topic is just too small.

An adoption system if you have a house.

I want a miqo'te child since I saw her in the Halloween event.

NEW jobs with base classes. They discarded classes for no reason (lazyness of creating a short storyline for each class?)

A full blown wardrobe system, like every other MMORPG I've played has. Best one I've experienced: LOTRO's.

New type of end game content, aside from raiding. Ive had my years of running raids and even leading raid guilds, but I just dont feel as interested in signing up for mandatory 3 day per week raids. Some days I may feel like raiding then another I may not. I dont want to turn the game into a chore or checklist. Currently, if you dont really raid much, there isnt much incentive to continue pushing your character's gear. Id like to see some additional end game content of some kind, or some kind of additional advancement to give incentive. Give me a reason to keep grinding my duty finder at end game.

1. Take out cross class skills and add a system that allows you to add traits or modify skill functions. Each job would have their own pool to choose from and could only have a certain number active at a time.

2. more interesting gear stats

Besieged or campaign like battles (ffxi), horizontal progression with gear that has stats like ice magic +3% damage or something.



also the favors system mhahaha

Edit oh and remove wanderers minuet and buff bard or at least fix it so you can use your dot procs when the animation pops up or something instead of the clunky crap we have now.

A full-featured parser
Spells that don't miss for WHM (e.g. SCH's Bios or AST's Combusts)
The ability to chat in LS/FC in pvp
The ability to teleport while in combat again
Tell/friend request block filters
Separate Au Ra horns from face options
PvP that uses arbitrarily formed teams, rather than GC-specific teams
More inventory space for rings (we have 2, so they eat up space quickly)
Quick synth on old master recipes

I agree with everyone saying Horizontal Progression.

I see a lot of people mentioning more interesting gear stats, specifically PROC based things. Kind of like how wow has trinkets that have really good procs... Where you get a 10 second 1000 boost to attack power or something like that....

But I have to ask why? Do you really want the game to be more RNG based than it is. I can just hear it now... "Damn, we would have had that last 1% but my ring wouldn't proc."

I'm all for more interesting gear stats, but I sincerely hope they don't make them RNG based. We already have some RNG on certain class abilities, and that alone sucks. Factored on top of boss mechanics having elements of RNG where you just get unlucky and die in 1 second.

I'm pretty sure most of us who want more interesting stats want it more akin to FFXI's than WoW's. Not everything they could add in RNG-based. I mean, even TERA has some interesting stats.

Yep. That's the feeling I want from a Final Fantasy game. The same amusement feeling I had when Edgar would use his KO versio of Chainsaw, or when I lost battle because my Desperation Attack didn't go out while in critical. This is what FF should feel like, not some normal stat based super-balanced game.

I also agree with others about more gear diversity. Toward the late game, everyone essentially is pushing for the same exact gear. There is little variance in "the best" gear. Run dungeons, get currency to buy the tomestone gear, then raid for the raid gear. Their isnt much variety. Essentially the best gear set for every class outside of raiding is tomestone gear. Too little diversity.

And again I point you to FFXI. Not everything is RNG-based there. You have straight increases and improvements on skills.

What people are also asking for is the ability to have to make choices based on actually relevant substats. Just as random example, you may have something that improves your MP regeneration by a percentage for long, MP taxing fights, or something that improves the potency of your Regen. Different gear and stats for different situations.

FFXIV is as bare bones as it gets when it comes to gear and customization. Free to Play games designed around attracting the largest audience possible have more options.

I would add more cowbell in all the soundtracks.

I'd love Guild Wars 2's wardrobe system. Using skins themselves for glamors instead of requiring the actual item. Being able to preview every item skin in the game to see what you would like to work toward. It would add a lot of collectability that the current game simply does not cater to on top of freeing up a lot of inventory space.

surprised that so many peoples top pick for ANY new game addition is fluff content like cosmetics. Not trying to knock those who like the dress up game but is it really the top thing you would add??? I can think of so many more interesting and meaty additions that could be made. I keep seeing cosmetics and fluff content over and over in the replies though.

Cross server Party Finder.

Guild Wars 2: Skin Collection and Vanity systems:
Get a weapon, lets say, Baldur Spear. When the spear gets into your possession, you get the skin entry in your vanity window to be used whenever you want, even if you don`t possess the item anymore. This would solve the inventory issue of this game in one shot. Also its dye system is just so amazing i don`t know where to begin, not only the number of colors is just vastly superior, but how you can dye up to 4 diferent parts of the same armor, from the leather straps to the metal plates to the small spikes diferently just... Just orgasmic. Imagine that level of customization in FFXIV.

I second this request. It would be a great way to get gears and loot, and add another fun alternative to dungeon/raid/primal/etc. grinding. Also, BCNMs and KSNMs are A LOT of fun!

Castle sieges from lineage (not an instance behind the 2 hour queue)

1a) I love the earlier idea of having it expandable
1b) Alternatively, having it look like an airship houseboat....airhouseshipboat...

2) The option to pick your emotes rather than being tethered to the racial.

3) Persistent /dance.

4) Roe and Elezen shoulders look too blocky when they run. A little more fluidity maybe.

5) Make the glamour system a bit less restrictive (I really want my caster glamour to have the tabards as an option)

Increase the amount of customization on the character creator so its more than just the face and hight. This includes proportions, body shape, musculatures, and the nitty gritty so there's more variety and not just a few blobs of paint thrown onto he same model.

Like how all the males are buff and somewhat thicker built and all the females are twigs. So with those listed above you could have a skinny twink male miqo'te or a hulking female lalafell to toss an example out there.

The ability to create completely custom weapons and gear that will work on any class. I mean appearances and stats, with the added addition to allow a weapon to "transform" depending on which class you're currently using it on. Never going to happen, but I can dream can't I?

3) Elemental wheel

4) Instanced housing

7) Roegadyn mounts for lalafell

10) Better variety in materia; i.e. materia that enhances abilities and what not if the gear itself won't

11) Greater variety in endgame content (similar to, but not exactly, BCNM/KCNM, sky, limbus, nyzul isle, salvage, etc.)

12) More bestial/less pretty playable races

13) Support jobs/breaking from the holy trinity to add a support slot

14) Adding bard/machinist/astrologian to said support slot

15) Haste spell

16) Paralyze spell

17) Cookies for everyone

18) Besieged zone for Ishgard (or wherever)

all clothing items unisex.

I just think its unfair that I can walk around in the best man's set while a dude can't run around in the thav bustier if he wants to. If a guy wants to be fabulous, let him be fabulous.
