Lalas are mostly just... weird.
I was a lala from May '14 till recently and my experience went as following:

Being a lala makes you think about yourself and others a bit differently, it's not only the different camera angle (that can be pretty awkward at times).
There are people who adore lalas, sometimes pestering you non-stop.
Those who don't take you seriously (I can totally see why, especially after I switched back).
A bunch of indifferent folks who are the easiest to deal with.
The "Haters" who are just... tiring to put yourself up with and who are very likely perpetuating the lala groupings.
Which then form into "lala-communities" or shall I call them... sects? Spending some time in a lala-only LS you start to wonder why that is a thing at all... lala-only LSs, FCs, events, raid-runs.

My guess is that the community expects a certain kind of behaviour based on looks and story (probably other factors as well) and rewards behaviour that meets those expectations; being evilly scheming, innocently cute, just plain weird and or perverted, etc.
It takes a certain kind of person to play (and I mostly mean those who associate with their characters) a lalafell so the entire thing is quite predetermined.
What do others think about it?

Considering I haven't really run into such mess as a lalafell and really only changed from it because I started liking cats.

Lalas are fine, and I'm not just being biased. So are roes. Any race really.. It's.. unreasonably silly for me to be "racist" in this game because these are just CHARACTERS. It isn't fair for me to judge the PERSON BEHIND THE CHARACTER based on their character's race. I've been in all lala parties, something that is VERY rare. I've even been the only one(as a cat) in a group that isn't a Lala. It didn't feel weird/different, kinda cool actually.

This topic imo serves as a way for some of you to express just how rotten you are. It's very effective too, keep it up, since you like this kind of thing.

I don't get why people keep pulling the pedo card when it has been declared none of us are children. I don't know anyone who calls a person a pedo for dating a little person (or midget if you prefer) in real life. You can despise the race all you want but try to avoid declaring us as something that ruins lives for both the victim and the false accused.

However the only thing I find funny about being a lala is tanking for much taller races. Reminds me of a video or gif (cant find it and Ive been searching for months) where a person aims a gun or crossbow at someone and a short person runs in to protect them, the shooter just aims higher. Or that this giant creature with a mouth bigger than my body doesnt just eat me in one shot. xD

Well, to be entirely fair, I don't hate lalas. I just can't take them seriously as anything! Except maybe a BLM, but considering they wield a staff three times their size, it's still pretty hard not to look at them as Eorzea's biggest joke...

imo there are only 3 good races in eorzea, miqo'te, au ra, and lalafells.

Hyur are too plain and normal, roes are to big and manly, and elezen are just plain ugly

Lalafells are adorable, used to be one for a year. They have the best emotions and lalafell only emotes for certain items (like the one from the rising event).

I race-changed tho, I noticed with my lalafell, playing melee classes did not look so good and the armour looks bad on them, when equiping a armour set, you often dont see the pants on the lalafell, which is one of the reasons why I race-changed.
