Well except for Bard LB considering that doesn't look like a Healing LB but a AoE Damage LB.

The damage will no doubt stay the same (All offensive LBs are calculated using the average ilvl of the party's weapons).

Ok now somebody needs to make Warrior of Darkness being a douche ala Gary Oak style because that would be awesome.

Yeah, we knew they were giving BRD a damage LB, which is a welcome change. I'm assuming they just changed it to the BLM LB and gave it a shiny new look. Other than addressing that silliness though, they're all staying the same.

Yay newer bard LB that we won't even see half the effects due to our terrible camera angles(see blm lb3). Either that, or most people will be like OMG turn off effects or you will get dead!!

To me it sounds like there might be more than just a single Warrior of Darkness since the voice says "it's time for you and your's to join the fray... Warrior of Darkness". Almost like the Warrior of Darkness is bringing his own party. This got me thinking that we may be gearing up for an Ark Angels/Divine Might style fight which has me hyped.

It'd even further fit since that fight was in the "sky" expansion of FFXI and this is the "sky" expansion of FFXIV.

They sending a warrior of darkness to try to beat us down lol

It is expected considering the WoL has made the Light far too strong in the world so a WoD must intervene to bring the balance back.

I think you guys may be overthinking the whole warrior of darkness thing. It very well could just be the lead Ascian powered up by Zodiark. I mean in our introduction to being a warrior of light we are surrounded by the other warriors. Every one of us is a Warrior of Light brought to the future. Why would it be any different with the warriors of darkness? There are probably a number of them, each being the other Ascians. Over anticipating story just leads to disappointment. Start simple and be surprised when it's greater than what you thought.

If FF3 and Dimensions is anything to go by, I don't think the Warrior of Darkness will be our enemy.

Just like we are blessed by Hydelyn, so are the Warrior of Darkness probaly blessed by Ziodark. The game has hinted that Ziodark is there and even showed it. The female voice that we heard might be Ziodark. The Warriors of Darkness are many like the Light has many warriors (we the players). I reckon the Ascians or characters like a that midget or the tall traitor are a good example of being Warrior of Darkness. I just hope its not the evil twin of our character.

Also did they really change the VA for Raubahn and Alphinaud? They sound awful now, or not as good as the 2.0 voices. But then again Raubahn's voice could be raspy due to the heck he was locked up in the end and a prison for weeks so there's that. I don't like Alphinaud's new voice if that really is it as it feels "misplaced" for someone between 14 - 18 years old. Now if he was 18 or so years old then it would've been better fit.

Otherwise I'm excited for 3.0!

Still don't care for the dub (and am still glad I'm not forced to suffer it in the game proper), but it was a cool trailer. I'm definitely looking forward to the new story stuff, and Heavensward looks great visually so far. I'm most curious if "warrior of darkness" is our player's antithesis or if things somehow get *even worse* and THAT becomes our new nickname.

This is the one with the Japanese VA if anyone (like me) prefers it to the English VA. xD

For my money Merlwyb was the best voiced character so far in ARR such a commanding presence and tone :)

Keep in mind the production process of 14 might of made it hard for most VA to keep up with the process due to time constraints. Consider a single player game with a single experience in a sense, they are paid to say their lines and then perhaps later on they redo lines as needed. It's a process that takes time but it's not the same process as the way the MMO VA works.

Here is my general idea of how the MMO VA process works. They did their lines for 2.0, then later on they had to do their lines for 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and finally 2.55. With that in mind this is 5 different voice acting sessions that could range from 10-30 time sensitive meetings to get the recording done within a year process.

So 2.0 is pushed out, then during that 1.5 month period they have to set time aside to VA again, then again after 2.2 then again after 2.3 then again and again and again it's a process that just might not be possible after some time. They may have other obligations or projects that take up their time and they may be unable to continue on.

If we take the voice actor for Lightning for example, one reason why someone like her can stay on other projects from 13-2 and Lightning Returns is because her project is a video game, not a dynamic MMO experience that would require her to set time aside to record over the process of a year indefinitely.

I'm confused why people are saying a female voice might be Zodiark. The Ascians refer to Zodiark as male.

One bit with Lahabrea and Elidibus are saying "by his will" at the end of 2.55 after Nabriales dies.

Am I missing something? :/

So that entire thing was pretty epic, I only wish they had shown all of Alexander falling from the skies. I am assuming that was him, if not I wish this video had more on him!
