criticizing the wrong group in regards to this bug. it was a coding error on Sony side. PSN pretty much thought that all the free upgrade people never had the base game on ps4, but wouldnt let us buy the ps4 version, and we were locked out of purchasing the expansion.

Yes and no. Everything like this is tested on the Dev PSN, which includes the PS Store. SE would (if I remember correctly) be able to test there, as would Sony, speficialy to ensure that this sort of thing is tested out before it impacts users. Someone forgot to do their homework when defining the test cases. In my estimation, both are equally at fault for poor test planning.

Same thing happened to me since the client was DL'd on my brothers PSN(we shared PS4 but both of us had our own accounts before he moved to PC).

If youre in this category simply go into the PS Store and click "DL Demo" for ARR and you should get "Already on your system" which should in turn, recognize the license on your PSN and you should be able to pre order now. Pretty sure thats it, I deleted my borthers PSN account before though so that might also be a requirement.

Okay, so if you pre-order the CE from PSN, there's no Early Access Code? It's just automatically letting you have the EA client download?

Seems to be. I just finished my preorder and it says it'll auto-download from PSN in 15 days and a number of hours.

I'm not sure that guessing is very safe in this instance. This reminds me of the confusion during the beta 3 and eventual early access/launch of ARR.

I suppose so, but there's nothing in the pre-order details stating we need to enter a code or anything to get into EA.

When PS3 version of ARR came out no EA codes were ever given out it just automatically unlocked when EA started, so I would assume it the same way with expansion.

Incorrect. I got Heavensward CE without ARR from PSN and I have the theme on my PS4 right now. It even says you get it in the description.

I'm still waiting on my E-mail from SE for early access since i pre-ordered it at a store. This has me wondering if their behind because of the sony coding issues.

I'm still having an issue with the PSN store about getting the chance to preorder the versions I want. My services list says that for PS3 I own Standard + CE.

Currently I'm not able to buy the following:

PS3:
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Trial
Final Fantasy XIV Online (bundle)
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn CE

PS4:
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Trial
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (New service account)
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn CE (New service account)
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward

I'm able to buy the following:

PS3:
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward CE

PS4:
Final Fantasy XIV Online (bundle)

This whole thing is convoluted :(

I would assume in doing the upgrade campaign the licenses would switch and I would be able to re-purchase the PS3 versions (not that I would after getting PS4) and also have the ability to get any PS4 addon/extra/etc that I wanted.

Can you help me with this? I've been losing my mind on the phone between SE/Sony for a few months even before the addons came out trying to fix this.

Another question I had was how to get 2 copies of the addon... it seems after buying anything with Sony it assumes I can only have 1 account with SE however I have 2 services accounts under the same SEID.

Your help is much appreciated!

From what I've been reading it looks like we won't be receiving them till right before EA but everything's been just speculation. Would really appreciate it if a little light could be shed on the subject x.x
