RIP VOTE KICK!
I've only been kicked once. I was d/c for what felt like one second and I immediately got back to the game to discover I got kicked.
I was Tank at the time and rejoined but pt reasoning was I can be quickly replaced on d/c lol
I've only been vote kicked once, and it was for apparently no reason.
It was in WoD; we wiped to the first boss because a lot of people were new and were dying, so the healers couldn't keep up very well. We ran back up and were getting ready to engage again, and... kick.
I was kicked last night because I needed on loot in LoTA. It was an iLvl 80 feet but I have iLvl 100. So I guess maybe that is why. But nothing was said before I can't. Is that normal or was I just in a bad group.
I was vote kicked recently because I wouldn't pull extra adds in stone vigil normal because it was my daily and I wanted my big xp boost asap (stone vigil wasn't my highest dungeon available either so the mob xp was mediocre). Hilariously enough, when I re-queued I got put right back into the same dungeon with the same people. Very awkward and very funny!
I got kicked for trying to explain to a pair of DPS in Wanderer's Palace (Hard) that on the final boss the tethered totems (Sacred Idols) have to be killed. I'm still dumbfounded by this one. I just don't even.
It wasn't me vote kicked but i found it amusing enough to write about.
Anyway me(as blm) and another blm in brayflox hard i think it was, from the start he kept stopping and telling the rest of us that he was a 130 ilvl blm and wanted everyone to leave all the rings for him and he would do the best damage.Anyway we all just said yes to shut him up, then a ring popped up.The healer also wanted it and rolled greed, got the ring over the blm, soon as that blm spoke we vote kicked him lol.
Nothing i despise more than divas in pugs.
(oh,and i outdamaged him anyway)
I got kicked from The Keeper of the Lake once. I was tanking for the extra gil and instant queue. My tank is i116 so not too bad, but I usually heal or dps. The dps in the group were a black mage and a dragoon with full i130 and zeta weapons... The BLM continually pulled mobs before I did, went all out and pulled aggro many times on trash pulls without using quelling strikes once. The first 2 boss fights were fine, but on trash pulls he kept pulling so I got fed up and let him tank it. The healer seemed aggravated too because he didn't heal him at all and the guy fell over (lol). We got to the last boss and boom I see the loading screen and in the chat it said I was kicked from the dungeon.
I queue again right away for party in progress and get in to the same party. They are doing the last boss with no tank and managed to clear it. Throughout the fight the BLM was harassing me in chat saying that I was a shite tank. I explained that I am under geared compared to him and yet he continuously pulled aggro on purpose. He said nothing after that. After the fight I won both the items, left the dungeon, and received all 3 player commendations.... wtf!?
Done all my Roulette and Dungeon runs as full clears as long as the rest wasn't completely synched (which happened twice). Still only do full runs as tank hoping to some day, magically, get one of those pople to do a full run for me while I level my DD. Still waiting.
On the other hand I wouldn't kick the tank for not doing it.
On topic - got a votekick once for no apparent reason either. Was WoD I believe ... did have so much impact I can't even recall it =I
Everyone seems to get those at some point or another.
My husband does this ALL. THE. TIME. Saying that the obviously lowered geared tanks can't hold off of him, and I retort (sometimes resulting in an argument, rofl!) that the DPS job is to DPS AND manage aggro! (I am usually healing to I let him die cuz I've warned him, lolol).
I wouldn't worry about it though, just grab yourself a higher ilvl weapon and it should help alittle bit against the more geared players. :)
Edit: On Topic, I was vote kicked once..?? It was in a WoD, and some bard kept pulling the boss and I called it out (Mostly cuz the team they were on was name calling everyone else), then we all showed up to the boss and bam, loading screen. I wasn't sure what happened? All I said was, "It is your bard Team whatever." .... I was like ./shrug and went about my day.
I was running a dungeon as lancer (under 30) with a friend of mine as whm. Within the first 30 seconds a vote kick pops up for the other dps. No words (beyond a short hello at the start of the dungeon) were exchanged. So naturally I click no. Immediately after the tank goes "dude they're trying to kick you". Now, I'm pretty sure I didn't initiate the kick, and I'm also pretty sure my friend didn't - which means the tank did it himself. But I say nothing because I'm on PS4 and typing is a hassle while mid-battle. My friend goes back and forth with the guy about who's responsible, then the tank goes "maybe the drg did it" I tell him no, I didn't. We move on with the dungeon, then just as I'm typing in a further comment trying to make a joke, all of sudden I find myself back in Gridania. Then my friend left the dungeon too, taking the penalty, and we wished them good luck waiting for a new healer.
Well, you desserve this if i say so ^^. I'm french and can understand (and speak) english. And i'm not an exception. Not everyone show her/his currently speaking languages in the game. The only thing you can see for sure is the actual client's install language. I could have installed my game in english (thinking about it in fact) and never show my real language in the game if i wanted to.
To stay in the subject, only kicked twice :
- first time at CT3, first boss just after the third wipe when told the entire raid to maintain the boss still and not let him to rotate on himself (best thing to do if you want to kill the raid ...). Somewhat happy for the kick anyway :p.
- second time, yesterday at Titan Ex (fist time for me), took some tries to aprehend/learn the actual fight, but maybe this angered the others who just want to do the "pony farm" ? Not even be sad for this, will try this primal later ...
Got kicked yesterday in Ramuh EX. Group wiped a couple times. Healer wanted to vote abandon. They got voted down. He said to kick him. We wouldn't, told him if he wanted to leave, then leave and take the lockout. Then I got kicked so he could leave without penalty.
Once by request, saying that I could stay for a few more attempts only if they kicked me so I could go to raid. (Said raid was accessed through DF.)
Another time before a perfectly smooth run, just before last boss, following a "sorry, we need to help out a friend with his daily..." It seems I was kicked to make room for said friend...
The last time because I got tired of doing over half the party's dps as healer and asked them to use more of their key tools (Maim, Heavy Thrust, Vengeance, AoEs, etc.) which was apparently more rude than I had intended. I normally don't bother commenting, but as the Darkhold run I'd just helped a friend through before was doing more dps and even just healing I was tanking most of the mobs...
So, only one real kick I guess. Other two were... escapes.
True.. But they were talking french in party chat and the player who went raging in alliance chat used english language.. While i truly understand that my wording might harass some sensitive people, the reason i wrote those words were so that alliance players who used english to just get over it.. So i wont defend myself into saying that i should deserve the kick or not.. However intentionally getting locked out and watch the fight from afar (they were chatting, so not afkers or they didnt manage to get in because the fast pull) is definitely wrong..
I was kicked once for needing on a upgrade for my Bard, but the other dps who was a level 50 with WoD gear wanted the outfit for his glamour. I won the roll, he was not happy and I got kicked. The tank was his friend and I guess the healer tought kicking me would be faster then saying NO to the vote-kick option.
EDIT: This was Brayflox normal.
Was just kicked from ST for using Eos while an WHM was in the party. I mostly do it so I can DPS without worrying about the healer being on point, cause a lot usually aren't. Was asked during the fight why I was using Eos, which I explained. Afterward, I switched to Selene anyway, just to see how it went. Low and behold, without a word as we were prepping for the next fight, I was kicked. I don't even.
The only time I've ever been kicked was because I was trying to explain to a new tank that using a macro saying, "ASSIST ME IN 5 SECONDS ON <t>!" Doesn't help as much as just marking targets, in fact it was rather annoying spam in the chat log. I was told that people just ignore the marks by the healer, to which the tank exclaimed "EXACTLY!" To which my response was something along the lines of why would people listen to your chat spam over a clear mark over a monsters head?
Okay 0_o. When we got a to a pull of mobs (the first couple mantises in Halatali), I asked how her macro would explain to other players which one of the multiple mobs with the same name was the one I should attack (knowing full well I could just use the 't' key on my keyboard). This was responded with the healer /agreeing with the tank several times in emotes along with a few hugs from the secondary (because I say so) dps while they waited out a loot roll (I passed on it) and eventually vote kicked me.
I was doing my books for SCH relic, Stone Vigil normal mode.
Tank pulls EVERYTHING and dies, says I should stop playing healer etc and that "400 heal" (was my adlo I believe) "at this level is crap".
Couldnt believe it. We wiped of course, twice because the tank refused to slow down.
Kicked (because tank in progress takes forever to replace), requeued and finished a run smoothly with a smart tank.
Was once kicked from Titan HM some months back (maybe even a year ago?) as a Black Mage. A WHM was complaining that I was apparently standing in the wrong place and I guess that was why I was kicked (they also proceeded to tell me I was a terrible BLM and etc etc). I was never hit by Weight of the Lands or Landslides. I was apparently standing somewhere the WHM didn't like me standing (which was behind them, every so often).
That has been the only time I've ever been kicked (and I'm thankful for it, honestly. One healer was new, so they were constantly knocked over the edge and the WHM was just... not good).
I have never, ever been vote kicked, thanks to my impeccable character and tendency to play the rarest role in the game.
I was kicked only once so far and that was when I went BLM for WoD but had to put my gear on manually so I forgot my Soul stone ending up being a THM.
People started insulting me in alliance chat for what kind of morron I am to go as THM after the first boss and kicked me before I could explain myself.
Funny part was that I did the highest damage still... D:
I was vote kicked during WoD because I fell asleep during the dragon fight! I had a long day at work and I guess I got too comfortable. :)
I've been kicked twice. Once was an in prog in WP Hard mode. I entered. I said hi, they said hi, I got kicked. Guess they were waiting for someone else?
The other time was a Sastasha HM run, First boss. Got a DRG who never used anything other then chaos thrust combo in the absolute minimum gear for the duty and a healer who refused to Esuna, and my BLM friend who came with me. Got to first boss wiped due to slimes and tail screws and All I asked was "what went wrong?" got kicked for harrassment. (according to my friend, also according to my friend they immediately left as soon as it went through so I guess it was just to avoid 30 min pen) Reported them for vote kick abuse (doubt it did anything, but at least no-one can say I didn't try) re-queued got Zodiac drop. They saved my friend and I one heck of a hellish run, but I still disapprove of vote kick abuse.
I was kicked recently during The Chrysalis.
The other healer was constantly whining about my 95 ilvl, telling me that I didn't pull my weight, despit the fact that I was the one who kept the raid alive, put up Stoneskin on the MT right before Triple Sparks (tanks never swapped, both could be killed by 2.5 Sparks), and the one who never failed at picking up the orbs/picking up slack from the new tanks on the meteors. After one wipe, the other healer called me out and got me kicked, despite all this. Just great.
I think ilvl warps people's perception of events. How that vote was won probably proves how little the other people of the group actually pay attention to things. I think this is another reason to actually have addons that can keep records of combat activity to shove in their faces.
This was my first and only kick.
Sounds like the group lacked knowledge of the fight especially the other healer and the MT if they were not reacting to triple spark. That will drop a tank quickly if nobody is prepared. I can kinda understand inspecting people before a fight just in case somebody is wearing any weird gear or super low gear but I honestly get sick of people who treat it like a police check and inspect everyone before the fight then start calling out anyone who is just over the minimum ilvl to get in. What you should be more concerned about is that the gear they are using shows they don't understand their class. Skill and knowledge over gear. It's easy to just pick on the person with the lowest ilvl when things are going wrong instead of blame yourselves.
I think getting voted out is easy because most players aren't that hardcore, especially DPS it seems, like they are more casual. So when I used to play BRD, I always thought the tanks and healers were like some elite class since those roles seemed so hard. So if it popped up saying vote dismiss on someone, usually I'd just agree since I'd just assume there's probably a really good reason to vote them out and that it's hurting the party and that I just don't understand why yet. So I think people just go along with it for those reasons. I've initiated the vote a few times before though, like one time at Cloud in WoD, had a BLM CONSTANTLY "well maybe if the tanks would actually do this or that" and then marking places to stand, yelling like what we're supposed to do etc when no one even had an issue. Had been doing that the entire dungeon, no one was new and he'd rudely tell people "HEALER you stand here and keep up Regen" just annoying stuff. At Cloud HE started the fight as well, not even the tank, BLM goes running in after telling everyone what to do, and of course immediately wipes. I rez him, and just non stop aggro on him more than the tanks, shouting comments the whole time "BARD try standing where I told you to next time and quit wasting time" etc. So when we wiped I initiated the dismiss, and the party agreed with me.
Got kicked for LBing a boss........ahahahaha first kick too. Tank had beef with me because i told him to pull less, didnt listen, next pull wiped... smart guy.
So, yesterday I was giving the new proc-based MCH class a go in Haukke Manor, and apparently the tank had an issue when I was using Blank after they had established aggro. She warned me, but when I used Blank again just to boost my DPS a little bit(I hit them with Heavy Shot so it's easier) they didn't respond. After the 2nd boss, I opened the barrier and went up the stairs to wait. In a minute, I was removed. Idk why, but all I can say is IT'S LOW LEVEL. Don't fret over the small things when we're doing good.
Never been vote kicked.
Only left once. Had a few vote abandons.
/shrug
Haukke Manor. Party consisted of warrior (me), archer, bard, conjurer, no one level synched and uncapped. I go through doing typical, fairly proper pulls. In other words, I pull one group at a time, and succubi carefully so that I can stun them the moment they try to AOE. This is apparently unacceptable to the cnj. I am told to pull moar (in some very unfriendly and demeaning terms). He wants me to pull 2 or 3 groups of mobs at a time. I knew that this was pointless. Even if he's able to keep me alive, there wouldn't be enough DPS from an archer and a bard using just Quick Knock to justify the large pulls. The fights would simply take longer without focused DPSing. The bard takes the cnj's side and starts pulling.I am able to establish hate, and the cnj is able to keep me alive, but the fight takes forever - the bard put up and drained his mp on Ballad twice. So whatever. If this is what they want, then ok. I let him know I'm grabbing the next two. I pull. Pull again... and this time he simply can't keep up. We wipe (I die with pretty much every buff available on me). I get le boot.
Never unless I specifically asked for it.
Actually thats not entirely true. I once joined a in progress group and they asked if it was okay to kick because they were trying to get their friend inside.
I've only been kicked twice for something other than lag. The first I can't really remember, but more recently it was in an AV run. I was leveling my WHM and had been practicing my stance-dancing for a while, and wanted to really test myself in AV. Needless to say, the tank (who, rather than say hello, said how much he hated the dungeon and wanted to speed run it) proceeds to run through the middle of the room, not pop any defensive CDs, and dies from too many enemies. Next pull, I accidentally aggroed some other mobs, he gets on my case. Third pull he stands in poison, overpulls, but we survive. Wiped on the first boss. By this point he's insulting me, and I respond in kind, and I get kicked. Partially my fault that we wiped so many times, yes, but given that my next run of AV went smoothly, stance-dance and all, I'm inclined to think it was on him more than my own deficiencies in skill.
