id be happy with a crossbow wiht a sword on it incase i run out of ammo.
maybe a weapon skill where i stab wiht the sword and once the sword is inside i shot also

or a battle class that uses whips.... think of a whip with 3 threads wiht maybe lil knives on the ends. maybe some have effects like poison on then

Generally, gunblades exsisted during the early days of firearms, when the weapons were single-shot, impossible to reload quickly, generally inaccurate, and prone to failure. They were meant to give the user a fallback weapon incase he missed or the gun misfired. the only problem was that the additional weight meant the designs either had a flimsy gun mechanism, or a heavy, off-balanced sword. (the main reason why they were not very common and fell into disuse)

Though any bayonetted rifle would essentially be a gunhalberd.

The whole concept of combining guns with things tends to end up being 'design the most ridiculous bayonet you can think of'
I'll never understand the fascination with FF8 gunblades, where the bayonet ended up so ridiculous that it no longer worked as a gun, and where the gun aspect was used in such a way that the recoil made it less effective as a blade D:
