duno what's so difficult about the fight...cleared it on 3rd attempt (first attempt i joined in progress, and they voted abandon, 2nd run, 2nd attempt, i won)
ppl shoot mobs/boss, with cannons.
you shoot dragonslayer arrows, when boss is snared or casting something? or he dodge them.
uhhm, then you win.
where's the difficulty?
Anyone ever looked into the profile of the OP? Would say, he is trolling there really hard.
Hilarious thread is hilarious.
The only hard part is people's brains. When you tell the tanks they can't MT Vishap and have to grab adds off healers, and they reply with an ok and ignore every single add in the whole path to keep hitting Vishap and trying to tank it... you seriously start questioning how they got there. Or standing in the long cast aoe red area that is the most common aoe in this game, after telling them. The funniest part? they're in FCoB gear. I don't expect people to automatically know the fight. First day, people learning, but you should already know the basics of this game, when you've cleared eng-game conent, and still doing the same silly mistakes over and over again, it's just common sense. What bothers me is people who can't listen or completely ignore suggestions, not that they don't know the fight.
ps: why is my display pic a smiling hildi .____.
Not hard at all...just need to have people communicate what they are doing. Beat it on first attempt.
The difficulty is the players not listening or following instructions.
It's alright but I can't the entry of ilv90 is pretty low
DF'd it in two runs. make sure healers dps instead of standing there with their thumb up their butt. Need 2 people on cannons/snares. Make sure tank pulls adds to front for they can be cannoned. Release if you die, the shortcut will bring you back to the boss without weakness.
That duty is fine. Just because it isn't a total cakewalk you can win on your first attempt doesn't make it "too hard".
just need to assign specific roles b4 you start 2 on cannons, 2 on snares when need them and some1 on dragon killer and make sure tanks position the adds correctly
DF group i ran with earlier wiped on 1% with like 3mins remaining lol havent even got close to finishing it since :P its not hard its just all about cohesion n group working properly 2gther
What rng??? The whole thing is scripted.
It isn't a meaningless fight, it get's you to the next part of the story. If it was meaningless, people wouldn't be on the forums here complaining. I'm glad it gave some challenge... our DF group wiped a few times and got the fight down and cleared it. People should learn to fail, learn, and work together.
honestly i WELCOME this difficulty, it wasn't a mindless fight like all the others
OH LOOK A GOD OF FIRE EARTH WIND WATER THUNDER AND ICE I'MMA PUNCH IT WITH MAH STABBY THINGS
heavens forfend when something gives you a bit of a challenge people scream 'nerf' no, for once they did a fight that is mechanic heavy, because guess what YOUR FIGHTING A DRAGON, not one of those small ones, a BIG one with a name, how do you fight something that big easy YOU DONT, you have to plan and be strategic,
i wish they continue this in 3.0 and more :D
As healer I just derping spam succor to all people and don't know what to do lol. And I think this trial is the most challenging than EX trial. I like it :)
Think Stone Vigil.
Pew pew pew.
Is not too bad.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!
You realize they just enabled you guys to get super easy i130 weapons & gear...
It doesn't have to be a day 1 defeat.
Not only that, you want the win handed to you???
You can't be serious... take your time.
This was the best Trial to date. It was a bit of a challenge, but not horribly difficult, completed it after a single wipe. Takes communication and people knowing their roles for the fight. DPS needs to kill mobs ASAP to make this fight easier on everybody, along with people on the cannons and snares knowing the right time to do it.
I much preferred the difficulty of this and chrysalis. Wasn't too hard but still required attention and co-ordination. The HM primals from leviathan to shiva had been dull oneshots and MSQ wasn't much to look forward to gameplay wise. I hope they keep in this direction.
Beat this in DF after 2 rather fail PF-made parties. A couple members were even new to the whole fight (think about that before you get dejected when somebody says they're new). Wiped once, learned what went wrong. And won.
It can be overwhelming at first. I found any difficulty came from tanks not knowing what to do/ fighting the other tank for mobs and not liberal use of the cannons to kill both adds and damage the boss.
So a good strat to do is
highest item level DD stay on Vishap whole fight
lowest item level DD and lowest item level Tank on the back most cannons (these cannons will take care of the adds)
mid item level DD(2) on the front most cannons attacking Vishap (when their cannons are blown they directly attack Vishap)
highest item level Healer heals majority of fight (its really not tough)
lowest item level Healer uses DragonKiller when possible (DPS and/or healing assist in the in between)
highest item level Tank grabs and pulls all adds to back most cannons (this keeps the AoE damage attacks to minimum healing)
Rinse and repeat through out the fight and you will win before he takes out the final cannons.
Tank pulls add to the back most cannon range and they clear them that way
Joined a duty finder party and made sure to take the time to explain what was going on to the new members. We one-shot him without even needing the third dragon killer.
Day one isn't the best day to proclaim whether something is too hard or not. In a few days I'm pretty sure most df parties will be clears.
I cleared it after 2 wipes. In DF. Everyon in the group said it was their first time, we tried, wiped, tried again, wiped, tried again and walked through it.
Did this early this morning after servers were up for a bit with a DF group. We were all new to it first run was a wipe not even down to 70%. Mainly because we didn't know about the cannons behind us til it was too late. Tanks and adds all over the place. People being stepped on and dying, etc. Second run Got him down to 50%ish people were rotating around on cannons, others on adds and then on boss, but still dps was so scattered about and people all over it wasn't good. Third try win, me (mnk and drg (since we are both more single dps) took the cannons and snares. The 2 blm's would aoe nuke the adds + boss. The 2 tanks would grab all the adds and keep them under the bosses belly so the cannons would hit boss + adds. We didn't even use the Dragon Killers lol, nobody ever went up into a tower. It's not hard, first time in there not knowing what to do yes, hard but not impossible nor no need for a nerf.
They do this with Guildhests but it seems people never did those or learned from it tho it's a means to teach people how to play the game. You know stop attacking the turtle and lure it to the smoke sort of thing.
This gives me great hope for the other story trials. I just play with a few dudes, and I was worried the story stuff would be super hard and we'd never be able to do it. Guess that's not the case!
I'm in my 4th party attempt, 4 hours and no clear with DF
Its the last fight of the main story its supposed to be hard could you imagine if you could just 1 shot Sepheroh?
"Oh noes, we failed once. Better leave"-both tanks/healers just now in DF -.- #^%&^%$
I kind of agree with this...but I also didn't have to rely on two idiots across an internet connection to fight Sephiroth. :P I like fights that require mechanics and some degree of knowing what to do, but requiring that for an 8-man either means you take a while getting a party together OR you go into Duty Finder and yakety sax intensifies.
The issue isn't the trial; it's really dense people who don't know how to listen, think, and move out of aoes....and then wonder why they died when they get hit with body slam. There is almost no mechanic that hasn't been introduced in the game before so it's a bit sad to see people fail so hard after try #4.
I managed to get it in my first solo DF, we wiped twice and got it on the 3rd try.
What bugs me about this isn't the difficulty, it's the fact that if you mess up on the dragonkillers and your DPS isn't enough, there comes a point really quickly where you know you've failed... but you still have to sit through it. There's no way to wipe and start fresh, you just have to waste 10 minutes until it resets.
That, and you can't skip the duty failed cutscene.
Its not hard, it just required coordination, which is often too much for DF groups.
at this point in the game for the whole 2.x series people should already know how to communicate and make a strategy and be good with their jobs..especially with a fight like this. sheesh
It's not even that for me, it's the fact afterwards...you're like stuck with the dragon and everyone's just standing there...can't
do crap. I actually like my character looking like she's fencin' to die. XDDD
Probably an oversight though.
Edit: Passed with FC! Onto the next.
Cleared it with at about 80/100 progress.
Had 1 healer and 1 tank on cannons (cause they have nothing else to do.)
1 Tank grabbed everything and kept it under the boss.
All 4 DPS AoE'd or burned big adds.
Weakest DPS was in charge of dragonkiller. Took a wipe (cause everyone was new and we missed the dragonkiller twice). First attempt got him down to 20%, second we cleared.
This is one of those fights that requires everyone to know their role and be ready to deal with their appointed mechanic when necessary. The reason some people find it too hard is because up until now SE has been hand holding way too much and a lot of players have gotten used to just smacking their head into things to progress.
The trial needs two people on cannons at all times, a tank that knows what he's doing, two healers ready on the chains each time and another player ready with the big artillery. That's 6/8 players with a task more complex than 'kill the boss' and unfortunately getting 6/8 players with enough brain cells to handle that is frustratingly difficult in the Duty Finder. You need to know you're going in with people that can communicate so just throw up a PF and do it. You'll find the PF fills quicker than the DF anyway at the moment.
