So why don't you glamor your gear

A lot of the healer stuff looks like crap honestly.

CT gear I think...One of them had like Zebra looking pants ...but CT and ST gear for heals is pretty awful.
WoD looks fine. I generally do not like any of the healers outfits because they try to make it look unisex and it comes out BAD.

Someone says Zebra (black and white) my first thought is all the Darklight Gear.

A: I am not rolling in gil.

B: Why glamour something that I'm going to replace in a couple of months anyway?

C: Some of the armors look fine. I don't want to look like yet another tart in a dyed wedding dress.

I glamour too, its nice not being dressed like everyone else.

My tank gear is glamored to my Paladin AF gear. Looks great, except when I'm playing as a warrior where it looks like I'm totally unglamored :(

For me I think it goes back to the non-glamor MMO era (early XI/WoW).
I liked wearing what was BiS, difficult to obtain, time sink, lol had to commit your first child if you received anything like herald gaiters, riddle, or relic currency from linkshell.
People would see the character and usually come to the conclusion they were hardcore / dedicated a lot of time.

For me I like wearing whatever the current high end raid gear / melded crafted gear and to me that's what looks good.

It's by no means a 'not enough gil' thing- (I have a personal medium AND large house with gil to spare still - was legacy so had a good head start), and for the record I do collect the vanity gear via high end fishing desynth / 3-4 star craft so that when I do have an occasion to wear it I have access too it (mostly community events and such)

There are exceptions, every once in a blue moon I'll vanity something- but if I vanity something it's usually a status thing. (I'll vanity crafting / gather weapons to Luminaries) but otherwise I don't touch much.
And while I don't have it vanitiy'd to anyting at the moment I'd prob vanity some hideous earrings to White Ravens due to it's rarity.

I love to glamour, have an outfit for each job at 50. The character I see most often is my own, might as well put a cohesive outfit on.

why is it absurd?? glamour is just for looks nothin else personally i like the look of the iron works gear for bard... it beats all those fugly hats n pants n shoes we normally have lol

The set I see most often referred to as the "zebra outfit" is the Royal set from CT.

Really? That was miles better than the freak of nature showing your chest and arms fur coat that was the healer and caster set from ST.

LotA has been referred to as CT since I started the game in 2.1.

why should people glamour when tehy know they might change gears pretty quickly ? why should people glamour when they like what they wear?

Besides, what you find ugly others may find beautiful and what you find beautiful others may find it vulgar...when it comes to these things there are as many answers as there are people. You may not like red and others may want everything in red because they love it ? does that make someone ugly ? to you yes but not to them

Once more, people are more concerned by what others do then what they themselves do or in this case looks like

I've glamoured things in the past. Looking at you, Evenstar Coat. But I love my Dreadwyrm casting body so that's going to be here to stay. I'll be a dragon with a trillion spell speed all day/every day. At least until more gear comes out and we see what it looks like. That Dreadwyrm Hat of casting can take a hike though. Thing swallows my head. I have a feeling the OP and my SCH would get along great. Dude is constantly updating his glamours. First he wanted dark and edgy in Second Coil with his High Allagan Pantaloons of Healing and his halter top and now he's all hippy with his WoD healing skirt and stuff.

I'm not concerned with how others look; obviously I'm not going to go up to someone unglamored and say "God you suck at this game you have no fashion". That'd be absurd. I'm just honestly curious as to why some people don't glamor their gear. There's been tons of good answers in here, some I never even thought of!


I mean if non-glamored gear works for you, then cool. I'm still gonna discreetly look at your stuff, haha.
