Marriage Partner Hookup Megathread!

Well, I met someone on here.... But, lets just say they were not the right peron.... BUT I did meet this guy through them, so it all worked out ^^

Yeah, I think it's a little more serious than "Just an RP thing". If I'm spending a lot of time with someone in game like that, chances are I'm trying to engender a relationship with that person. :P If I'm going to shell out $20 for something, it's not just going to be for "A good laugh and traded smiles". $20 is at LEAST half of a first date, after all! If I'm really spending the kind of time with someone to where I feel like marriage in the game is worth it, chances are I'm getting to know this person on a rather intimate level in real life, as well. Unlike you, not everyone views marriage in a game as a serious thing... I've married friends in games just for the bonus it provides. Heck, I'm gonna marry someone probably random on FFXIV because I want the mount and the outfits.

Personally I'm kind of disappointed there isn't an option to have a wedding ceremony at a seedy little chapel in Ul'Dah after going on a bender at the Gold Saucer- complete with your character waking up the next morning with a terrible hangover, a ring on their finger that they don't recognize, and a totally empty wallet.

It can be like queuing solo in the DF. Only with marriage instead of a trial.

I see this as more of a 'meet-a-friend.- thing. You sure are blowing this out the water lol.
But who knows! You marry a person in-game, get real close and personal and then you made have a nice blossoming friendship or more outside of it all.
Who cares? It's for fun, it's up for those peoples to decide how things pan out.

@Dekal: I've been on, idk about you, I wish we could send off-line friend things or mail.

For me, eternal bond in game is mostly to get the items and what s better that with a friend or a leveling partner. It is rare to see a real bond between players (of course I'm not saying it can't happen, but it's a slim possibility)

The guy I married in game and I have a serious relationship but we won't have any long-term commitments meaning the relationship will end likely if any of us quit FFXIV. So I guess you can say it's roleplay-ish since it's FFXIV-only but we aren't really roleplaying. I can't really commit to something for the long-term but even if what he and I have won't last forever, it was definitely worth the money for me.

So I dunno what people are on about over this eternal bonding needing to be something real and serious that leads to RL marriage and stuff. Fairly sure an in-game marriage system like this would attract a great deal of different ideas people may have about what it means to them though so while some people feel it's only worth it if it leads to something real, others may not. No sense on arguing with people over what they feel Eternal Bonding means to them. Though me and him have become a well known couple on the server because of how social I am lol >_>

Dislikes: Snobs, the overly elitist people, people who are unintelligent, and those who are unwilling to help out a new person every once in awhile.

Goals for the game: Just to casually play until I decide I don't want to anymore. I plan on playing the xpac and DRK, so I plan on being here for a few years.

I have seen some people looking for other players to marry and use PF. I guess people don't like to use the forums that much.

U should try to contact the other player from Gilgamesh that posted in here looking for another player to do the eternal bond.

I found my in-game fiance from this thread. Thank you for posting it.

A'naanza Wiloh Didn't make an "official" post, but she posted earlier in the thread, and I transferred and joined her Free Company just to meet her in game. She said yes today!
