This issue keeps coming up over and over and over...wonder how long until they listen to us hehe
I don't get why they wont fix this. Chest gear pieces fan out at the hip/butt area a lot already and I can't imagine there would be clipping at all if they added an actual butt to all race/genders. All skirts also fan out at the butt area leaving a lot of open space (except coatee bottoms). Pants and bikini bottoms look like they follow a different rule-set and appear painted on to our butts; which if the size of the character is changed it would stretch along with it like breast do with the breast slider options.
and if there was a risk of clipping through jackets and skirts, why not do with our butts what they already do with our hair? our hair doesn't clip through our helmets and hats.
Booty bump buttressing this thread.
Thay have listened already, they have answered. It wasnt the answer this particular group of people wanted. Personally I think there are much better things for them to put their efforts towards than the ass of a character you wont even see the majority of the time. A change that would affect an adjustment to all current gear and all gear planned for the future. its no small thing you people are asking for (pun intended...). Good luck with your plight anyway?
If you want an amazing ass suck it up and start playing a powerful domme Elezen instead of a bland Hyur girl or stereotypical Miqo'te anime wife.
Oh a thread worth supporting! +1
ya id like to see a butt slider also its also gross seeing male toons running around in armor that was designed for female toons butt cuz there is no butt both genders can use the same armor

I Approve the OP
And the quality we have now is quite frankly...crap, complete and utter crap. Developers can make outfits that accommodate to the female and male body which includes the buttocks area. That is literally no more harder than adjusting for the bust size for the female toons. If what you is saying is true than they wouldn't have added a Height or Bust slider either, but they did, this is pure laziness at it's finest.
As I stated before, they did this with Lightning Returns and it's EXTREMELY noticeable on any Stigmata that shows Lightning's legs as you easily find out she has no butt, which is not the same as the models from the past games in the trilogy, meaning they played the easy route out instead of giving her a bottom curve.
When I have played and seen PLENTY of other MMOs that have BOUNTLESS levels of Character Creation and their armors STILL have no problems accentuating those curves, there is absolutely no excuse for FFXIV to somehow be any different from those games or even past ones.
I only have one thing to say:

I do miss my considerable rear shell from 1.0's days.
A lot of 1.0 was focused on presentation and but buttocks was no exception.
devs gotta be bust men since that was the slider they kept.

...can we please not even limit to the females only? Can we please not even limit to the butts only? There's body types that don't exist either, muscle amount that can't be set either - it's felt bad at launch already, and as time goes on, it'll just become more and more awkward.
Am I the only one simply tired of hearing how difficult/expensive it would be to do this or do that? I mean, ok, obviously not everything is easy, and I can accept that several ideas would mean quite a workload. But...like...hello...I'm starting to feel like it wasn't their job we are talking about - their job, which they're getting paid for, to design and code stuff, to develop the game, the add content, to tweak and fix stuff; like the game wasn't turning quite a nice profit. Difficulty and costs as excuses seem to be thrown around too often lately, imo, as if SE was running a charity game here, or an actual free (not F2P) one. I know they probably have a set schedule to release new(/"new") content every three months, but who sets that schedule? Nobody's pointing a gun at anyone's head, it's something they figured out for themselves - they could as well change it themselves. Personally, I wouldn't mind not seeing a few more rehashed dungeons for half a year, if in turn we could customise more parts of our characters, like the ones I mentioned above. Change the direction a bit, re-focus, make the next "content patch" be more of a "QoL patch" - I doubt many would complain.
I want a big booty. Or at least A booty. Elezen's lack of behind is pretty severe when you get into the skimpy stuff. Thankfully there is plenty of gear to disguise my lack of derriere in game though I don't want to have to hide it!
Sorta ot, but can you imagine how hilarious it would be if they actually implemented this? How would they market it? I can see it already: 2.9: The Booty Patch!!!
And I agree with all of that, but I'd rather they take it slow for now and simply fix the most glaring issue of the character models first: Them having no ass.
They can also fix the EXTREMELY awkward standing position of Male Mi'Qotes while they are at it(seriously, I hear so much problems about them despite them and Female Roes being HEAVILY requested, you think they would make sure Catboys aren't as ridiculous as they are now), but I'd rather they take babysteps first.
They don't even need to remodel the NPCs, just the player characters as it's so freaking distracting looking at either males or females and seeing no hump in the back as it's just uncomfortable after awhile. It's just maddening when I see games like Vindictus(before they added the body sliders...and they are a F2P company), TERA and even WoW have limited customization options, yet still make certain their male and female characters have curves and can make the armor accommodate them.
As I stated before, this is pure laziness especially since these topics keep being made over and over with so many responses showing how the playerbase feels and people pay $13-$15 a month(maybe even more now due to extra retainers, fantasias and the cash shop items) and they STILL can't hire a backup design team specifically to make the PC males and females have butts and sooner or later, add true customization options or even just body sliders for the arms, legs, waist and shoulders(head too)?
I find that truly hard to believe, I really do.
Yes, the male Mi'Qotes one of the idle pose is awkward, it seems like something is heavy on my back and hunch down... like really just hunchback pose. I don't like that pose at all.
If character creation like this exists in an MMORPG --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TP4L1vHfpk

I'm pretty sure SE can give our characters a normal sized butt.. -_-;
Thank you for showing off Black Desert as that's one of the games I mentioned previous.
The funniest thing? There's a chance that will go F2P, which tells you something about the how "hard" it is to make customizations like those, yet still have the armors fit them.
I plan on adding some pics from Vindictus to show off even moreso how when even F2P games can get female and male curves right and get multitude of armors themselves, this is just a pitiful excuse, especially in the 2nd year.
I said I was gonna do it, so I am. Now the main reason I'm putting these up because I want it to be known that if a F2P game company can make certain to add in butts to their characters and still make certain all their armors fit as well, then this game which is being funded constantly can and should do the same thing:
(I'm not doing this to bash or hate A Realm Reborn, I like it VERY much, it's just that this problem makes zero sense and the reasoning behind it even less so and I want to point out that seems to be a Squenix issue only)
This is also gonna be a LONG post filled with pics to make my point.

"But Xhominid, you have to buy those so they most likely accentuate the curves and-"
They don't.

The first one's curves is exactly the same from the very basic to the ones who can buy.
Even the males' have curves

And it's not an optical illusion for either of them.

So what honestly gives? I don't need to point out TERA also does that too despite it's limited options and I doubt the models of this game is that super-special that they can't get a subdivision and tweak them out. Man, there are modders of games like Oblivion and Skyrim who makes rigs and clothing for those rigs in their freetime, how truly long and expensive is it really to give the characters their butts back?
I can confirm that this thread is going nowhere and my hyur has more buns than your cat girls.
we need bigger boobs and bigger butts!
i don't think this issue people have with butts is gonna go away, sorry developers, you need to make it happen.
I like the modest proportions, its one of the reasons I've stuck with this game over the other hentai-ish atrocities out there, like Terra. That one is aweful for their outrageous character design. I don't want to see Dolly Parton or Jen Selter. Get your rocks off in another game please.
Saying that its modest is quite a bit of stretch. Also its not proportional either if your character has a large bust but no lower curves to back it up. Its not about getting rocks off, its about what's aesthetically pleasing. If you create player with a larger bust, you should also have the option increasing the glutes to make the body more proportional.
This.
The models from the game above(Vindictus) always has modest proportions unless you go mad with the body sliders they added 2 years back. This game does NOT have modest proportions by any sense of the term as ratio between Breast, Hips and Waist is completely ridiculous and virtually nonsensical that everyone has no ass to cushion their pelvis and spinal regions. In some cases, I'm not even sure if they have the curve of the typical spine BECAUSE they have no real hip area.
There's a difference between hourglass figures and modest body proportions, this game doesn't have anything close to normal body proportions period.
Seeing those Vindictus character models makes me upset. If this game implemented actual human proportions like that and not whatever they currently have I think I'd fall in love.
Why can't I just have both :(
