Where did you choose to logout prior to maintenance?

Logged out in the safety of our FC house, where I'll tranquilly get on crafting all the lv1-49 daggers I require to level Rogue, as I enjoy the distant view of Limsa Lominsa crashing on itself with error 90ks.

If you're planning to use that rested exp on Rogue, I have some bad news for you...

It will completely dry up by level 3 or 4.

Logged out in Limsa Lominsa either near the main aetherite, or the mender. I can't remember.

Logged out from some random person's fc house. I forgot who they were but for sure they were a neighbour i think..

I made the mistake of logging out in limsa lower decks. I have a feelign Lamia is going to repeatedly crash from everyone being in lower limsa for the rogue unlock quest...

I want to be able to get to the boards a little after things go up. Monitor the supply and demand of the immediate folk to get a head start and determine how the next couple weeks will be for goods to sell (or buy in some cases).

Goblet I want a personal house in ward 1 but not sure how the subdivision thing works :S

What? That wasn't my point at all. In ffxi you logged out next to whatever notorious monster you wanted to fight because first person to log back in got the claim, etc. and because it took like 15 minutes or more to get to some of those spots. I've been in linkshells where you were very heavily expected to be logged out in certain spots, and there's just absolutely none of that urgency/need here.

I logged out sitting on a stump between the pond and garden in my yard so I can water all of my plants that will desperately need it as soon as I get on.

(since that stupid developer blog post back in summer... what a tease. 2.38 disappointed me so much when it didn't have it). Though also close to the delivery moogle, so if I'm able to buy a fantasia before I log in, I can pick that up and use it... BEFORE running to the Inn room... :D

My counter to your stance was stating some people, myself included prioritize personal housing over other things and our strategy was to logout in a specific ward in order to claim a plot. :D

Next to Urianger, since I'll be on at least 20h after maint is over, and my raid is just 1h later.

I logged out in the CURRENT housing ward I am hoping I need to be in to directly tele to my 'ideal' ward/plot...in the added wards (I am assuming you have to now go to the old wards, then tele to the new...so if you want ward 1, plot 31, you need to tele to ward 1, then tele again to the new ward) But man, sooooooo nervous. I will feel better if we can download the game early, but if the downloading only starts at 4am EST....I am likely going to be a sad panda.

Welp it was a nice thought anyways. Im likely about to lose out on my desired plot in Mist. Still no download and i have to do the responsible adult thing and go to bed. Work 12 hours shifts. My plan was to download before bed and set the alarm for 10 mins before servers came up get my house then go back to bed for a little bit. Now i have to choose between getting up and sitting here downloading a patch for likely 30 mins to an hour or more in the middle of the nightand being dead tired during my 12 hour shift tomorrow or just saying screw it and get some sleep. Damn you SE im already up an hour later than i planned.

I don't even remember... probably somewhere in Limsa. I love Limsa.

Same place I usually log off in. My own private house in the Lavender Beds. When I don't log out there, it's inside my private room in our FC's mansion in Mist.
