Actually taking to the forums with it is quite effective. Player petitions have worked in the past with this game and other games. In fact it usually takes a player petition in the forums to get a refund like this, but it does work if everyone feels entitled to it and speaks up.

It is your opinion that I am asking for more than what I agreed, not a fact. You make it seem like people who think like this are crazy when in fact it's a quite a lot of people.

Only bothered reading through the first two pages of sarcastic remarks but I'd also be interested in knowing whether that maintenance day does count as a sub day or not, while it doesn't really matter all that much to me it'd still be a cool move from SE if they did that to shut up everyone who's whining over the 25 hour maint.

You're assumption that people are just "whining" is unfortunate. Maybe if you weren't "whining" about what you perceived as people whining there could be some further discussion on this matter. But as long as people who wish to put down all logical argument with insults exist there will be no progress.

Possibly, but it in this situation the upper bosses will probably just point at the ToS and shut the door. Saying that they might note that players are unhappy with the extended maintenance times and give us free days as a good will gesture in the future.

The problem is how it's argued most of the time, "I demand free time because I can't log in and play what I want to play!" sounds a lot more unreasonable compared to "I wish to play your game but the lack of compensation with long maintenance times is making me think of looking elsewhere.", the first argument sounds like an entitled brat, however the second argument sounds like a customer that doesn't really want to leave, I know which customer I'd want to keep.

In order to play, you have to agree to the fact that they can take servers down at any point. These maintenance are included in the thirty day time. If you ask for another day that brings that total to 31, then that is more than what you paid for.

You're not crazy, and neither is anyone else that thinks that way, but ou shouldn't play if you don't agree with the rules.

Well you cave have your opinion but I respectfully disagree. The standard of service in this industry is dropping at an astounding rate and what you suggest I do is to just accept it. I'm sorry but I'm not so ignorant to believe that I should never think for myself. I find your complacency on the matter distasteful at the least.

It doesn't matter to me because 4 months of this game keeps my attention more than any of the new $60 games coming out. I lose a day and get a bunch of extra content that the designers technically don't have to make.

If they started charging for maintenance, then I would drop it. Otherwise, one day just leaves me more time to hang out with friends and people outside the game.

She suggested they were something they weren't. If you actually go back and read the discussion the only arguments given in response to my honest questions were anything short of insults. I responded by wittily pointing out their argument's flaws and was insulted for doing so. I then was accused of acting superior all for making a logical argument, to whom no one has been willing to honestly discuss without making an insult. If you want to call what I did an insult then go ahead, but I am only doing a fraction of what everyone else on these forums do to each other, and that is poke fun at their argument. What I would like to know is why you are only voicing half of your problem? I mean why stop at the 25 hours for maintenance, I'm sure you slept, ate or went to the bathroom sometime recently. Why are you not demanding game time be added for that? That was time you paid for but didn't get to actually play. Or is it that you don't like SE making the choice for you. Your ego seems to be highly inflated, what with your comments to others about being in retail and you being a programmer. Just bc you didn't read the ToS doesn't mean you are not bound to them. You agreed to them without reading them, and now you want to complain that they're unfair or shouldn't apply. That's not how contracts work. You sign a contract, you are bound to what's in that contract whether you know what's in it or not. Just like ignorance of the law doesn't protect you if you break a law, ignorance of the ToS will not reward you with $.50 or a free day of play.
