I'd definitely pay for vanity gear modeled after characters from other Final Fantasy games.
Fish Aquarium for my fish
Mounted fish trophies
unlimited fantasia
name change
Extra FC Garden Spaces
Market Board for the FC House or Personal Room ...... SERIOUSLY! LOL
Character Name Changes
The mount existed in game but was not obtainable, and I don't believe they ever specified where it would be obtained from. You have to start somewhere with a cash shop, and this mount is highly sought after from what I gather on the forums. Now if they had announced it as being an Odin EX drop at some point (instead of it being assumed) I would totally be on board with the yelling and the screaming and the anger.
That said all because I'm willing to pay for it doesn't mean everyone should. And being Odin's mount I could definitely agree on this not being a Cash Shop item (though perhaps a different skinned version of it could).
Can I pay to make sure all the people that threatened to quit the last few days actually quit?
Definitely level 1 vanity clothing/gear with no job restrictions.
Additional hairstyles/facial features
I would even buy primal mounts, since they're so very hard to obtain otherwise.
This thread is making me actually think! Hmm...
How about one-time use Chocobo Color Feed? Like Han Lemons, only for certain specific popular colors. Dalamud Red, Soot Black, Lavender Purple, etc. Not Black/White/Silver/Gold, though. I still think those should be Chocobo Race rewards. This is just for colors that can be attained after feeding chocobos color changing feed multiple times, but is a more instantaneous change after one fruit rather than a gradual change using several.
Let's see... certain furniture pieces that would be insanely hard, if not impossible to craft by crafting jobs. Portraits of the Garlean Legates, posters of popular NPCs (Who doesn't want a poster of Longhaft?), Adventurer Statues (I saw this implemented in DCUO. Basically, it's a statue that stores an adventurer's glamour data of their currently equipped item set and casts that glamour data in a solid statue of any material in the game, depending on the statue used), etc.
Illusion Crystals, which would be single-use items that transform a character into a different model for 30 minutes (similar to the current All Saint's Wake illusions).
Emote Trinkets, which would be permanent-use or single-use items that perform a specific emote when used, maybe a special graphical effect along with it. Like, say... Setzer's Dice. Upon their use, a character would shake the two six-sided dice in their hands and throw them either on the floor or the nearest table surface. When the dice land, a graphical effect displays the number rolled.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
I'd pay for highly detailed dye able clothing that does not share it's model with any other clothing, such as a Chocobo themed Lolita dress/set.
Added some things to my previous response, but then I realized how long this thread is now D: So I'll just post them here.
I basically wanted to expand on my comment about purchasing the pure white color for chocobos. I'd buy it as long as it's in a simplistic form, like a pill that takes it straight to the pure white color, or that brightens and enhances the chocobo's current feather color/texture so that snow white looks more like pure white. I wouldn't buy it if it was an extension of the current dye system, because IMO that would be starting to toe the line between fencing actual in game content not related to the expansion behind a paywall.
Also,
apps, maybe... like for instance, maybe something that could alert players when housing plots come available in game, or a market app that works similar to the FFXIAH website. I'd pay a couple dollars for those.
The ability to purchase crysta direct through paypal.
And the ability of choosing between all Hempen Camise styles on one character, regardless of that character's race. ^^
Since limited server resources seem to be getting in the way of getting player housing separaate from the FC housing I think that I would be willing to pay for a large private instanced piece of land with proper farmland, large chocobo stables and a house which I can also use as an FC base or just let friends/randoms visit.
so you want a farm? well make that 2 lol. am i the only one who gets depressed at these yard sizes? i mean come on you can't fa p it without like 10 lalas looking in your windows lol not to mention what a serious gardner could do with 16, 32 even 64 gardening spots. On a serious note tho, it dont need to be some crazy designed hole in the wall like the other wards. just simple open plains.
I want toys. Lots and lots of toys
Illusion items that let me look like certain mobs or npc. I wonder if the illusionist npc was their way of testing this in game. I hope it was at least.
A holiday decoration pack for your house (trick or treat bucket that can be interacted with please)
Flippable table
Yes, give them more idea's to place in Cash Shop or Mog thing. .___.
But if I had to pick, I'd say a Name change thing, we've been wanting that for a while.
Perhaps posters, some PHYSICAL items. Soundtracks, cosplay items, etc etc.
Maybe glamours item for those can't clear coil, just give them gears with coil skin to use for glamours and not the stats, but I bet this would those "elite" ppl unhappy, even though it doesn't have any of the stats (they are actually just complaining that they got no gear to show off, not about difficulty of the game)
A sub and the expansion and not really sure about any of those now.
I'd pay real life money to get the cash shop defenders off of this forum.
CASH SHOP SUPPORTERS GOTTA EAT TOO! I mean c'mon... how can I afford dinner when I spend all my money on trivial and dated (AND Sleipnir) vanity items from the cash shop?
I should be 100% transparent: I used to agree with you. I used to agree with everyone who thought that items in a game, vanity or not, should be rewarded from IN-GAME achievements, and not RL money. I was one of the few who wanted to boycott EA for having things like an "online pass" or charging for DLC that was clearly on the disc. The "pay for content" renaissance was BS when it started nearly 15 years ago and its still BS today.
But it is too late. We, as gamers, have been too complacent and now stuff like this is the status quo. Of course we can vote with our wallets and not buy this stuff. But we should have voted with our wallets over a decade ago. Because now, theres a generation of gamers that see stuff like this as commonplace. And for every person vocal and adamant about not buying anything from a cash shop, theres 3 people who are buying Sleipnir barding or a recycled golf course in the newest tiger woods, or a retro outfit in street fighter... etc etc etc.
So I am 100% of the hypocritical "if you can't beat em, join em" crowd.
Havent gone through the thread yet but wanted to mark down some Ideas while I still had them in my mind.
Name Change! (i saw this one already but it needs more attention)
Merchandise
- Moogle Plushies
- Chocobo Plushies
- Plushies!
- T-Shirts (I still really want my meteor survivor shirt!)
- Statues
- Accessories (make RL versions of those awesome rings that were in that contest waaay back, 1.0 will know what I'm talking about)
- Relic Weapon Replicas (Full size or even letter opener size)
- AF Hats (I love and collect hats)
Outfits for Glamor
- Past FF outfits (clouds Soldier outfit, Terra's outfit, Vivi's outfit, etc)
- Steampunk outfits
- theme outfits
Special mounts
- Exclusive to the Pay Store
Fantasia Potions
Inventory expansions (Retainers)
Thats pretty much it for now. I'll probably add more later.
I'd pay RL money to not have ads and have quality customer service. I would also pay to have quality content, not rehashed content and theme park rides.
I would also pay RL money for a simple to use and modern payment system. I wouldn't mind paying a set amount of money on a recurring basis, if it was a fixed cost that I could pay and enjoy content without having to be nickel and dimed for "extras".
I'm used to things like Name Change, Race/Gender change, Server Change, etc., incurring extra cost. I will admit, SE were good sports to hand us a free Fantasia. Still, being "used to" something does not mean it ought to remain that way, no? Couldn't there be a name change item or something available in-game, somehow?
3D printed figurine of our characters would be awesome. I really like the idea of a cash shop that sells real-world, physical merchandise like that. I'm not a fan of in-game items being sold piecemeal for cash, even if they are "vanity" items.
It's not your place to make rules about what we may or may not say in a thread, even if it is a thread you created yourself. Preemptively threatening anyone who makes a post you disapprove of is a form of bullying, extremely rude, creates a toxic atmosphere, and in my opinion constitutes harassment.
Even cosmetics in cash shops ruin it for me since I prefer having that stuff as in game rewards for older dungeons, events, crafting, etc.
The only thing that'd be acceptable in a cash shop to me is name change, fantasias, character slots and server transfers.
I'll prob would invest money on a name change option, but I've started to like my name a lot so I would only change it if I decided to change race or gender.
If the cashshop is unavoidable... How about a minion to play certain FF soundtracks? Almost like a music player built into the game. So I can pay $1-2 for the soundtrack.
Special pass to override coil lockout (just one extra run, who cares?)
All 1.0 special items (like Dalamud Horn)
CP and Control boosters that stack with food (just for convenience)
Mounts with special effects, but only if regular ones are implemented for free, so people with the special ones have something to brag about.
Exclusive furniture, if not exclusive then the one with special effects should be in the cash shop.
A sort of monthly rent to own more than one house.
HD textures for SMN egis.
my subscription
Music Music Music Music Music
I would totally buy a package that either loops the current music or overlays the 1.0 soundtrack over the current one. Just anything so i'm not sitting in silence for 80% of the gameplay. (how i play anyway, i know there are others who just sit in town and queue dungeons.)
I'd pay real life money mostly for out-of-game content. Someone previously mentioned lore books. Fictional novels set in the world to give it more depth and lore would make this game so much more for me.
I'd pay for vanity armor from previous FF games. Someone mentioned Lightning's FFXIII-2 outfit, which I agree with. On a somewhat related note, I would pay real money to wear clothes that are normally for the other gender. I happen to like Snow's outfit but it can't be worn by my female characters.
Minions of Phurbles and Bogey type monsters.
That's all I can think of currently.
Extreme Primal mounts. Really want the leviathan or ramuh ones. Only seen nightmare drop twice and lost lot both times.
Lightning giving me a lap dance in game. :3
Nothing its pure greed, if they want customers than maybe they need to improve the game quality etc.
