I have caught Canavan during Gloom weather (8 AM-4 PM window), but Kuno itself during Sunshine at 5 PM.

after 5x 10 min buff periods of fishing and 13 HQ silver fish I got my first Imperial Goldfish bite....and lost it
and one time I got the fish is gone message after catching 2 catfish -_-

The RNG on that fish is insane. Finally caught it on my 7th buff, and half of the time I didn't even get a single Silverfish HQ bite for the entire 10 min buff duration...

What bait have people had the best results with for seahag? I appreciate it's RNG but I'm having a horrible time getting mooches atm! I've tried 4 different baits and I consitently get nothing but hq lominsan anchovies...FML.

FYL? FML! went in there 6 hours early just so i can mooch a HQ Wahoo. Spent at least 36 Eorzean hours at Reaver Hide. NO HQ WAHOO. What is worse? 40 nq fish in a row.

I just caught 11 HQ Silver Fish at northern thanalan during clear -> fog

not a single big bite u___ui

I hope some japanese figure out how to get the big ones at urths and the other 2 or 3 missing soon
waiting for 2 or 3 insanely rare weather conditions sucks <.<

Meh, I expected it to have a cool blue glow like the ironworks weapons, but that look sucks hard

I would have thought it was a low level fishing rod, not the best one in game with that design :/ It's really disappointing when compared to the amazing look of other ironworks weapons and armour.

I'm still lurking around with 100 fish, I lost every single f**** bite for the past 2 days, its just ridiculous

27 mooches during clear -> fog at northern thanalan so far, not a single big bite :thumbsup:

what fish are required for each stage of the feast of famine quest?? I see that some are complete and have the rod already congrats!! and some are very close :) but i still have not seen any confirmed information on which fish are required for each part of the new fishing quest. I, as well as I am sure others would appreciate any info on what fish are required for each new stages of the new quests. It would give us some small accomplishment to finish this while we strive for the 106/106 and rod :)

You don't need to catch any of the 400+ gathering "living legends" required for Feast of Famine to get the i80 rod and 106/106 achievement. There are 112 big fish, so the six needed for Feast of Famine conveniently are not required for Go Big or Go Home X. I'm fairly certain they did this intentionally - you get the 106 other big fish, get the new rod that gives you enough gathering to get the last 6, then complete Feast of Famine.

Pretty sure at this point Feast of Famine works like this:

Catch Namitaro at Urth's Gift, Endoceras at Isle of Umbra South Shore, and Helicoprion at Sagolii Desert for the Black Shroud/La Noscea/Thanalan part of the quest. Then catch Kuno the Killer at North Shards, and Shinosaurus at Witchdrop for the Coerthas/Mor Dhona part. Then catch Nepto Dragon for the final part.

Shonisaurus is the only fish I can think of in Witchdrop that would require a buff to catch. I see it's still unlisted as to where in the OP post but it should be pretty obvious to be in Witchdrop just no info on how. As ServerCollaps said in a previous post it's most like catching a certain number of Rhamphorhynchus which means it's going to be a nightmare. Or it's catch a certain amount of Mahar's which is less of an RNG nightmare in terms of fishing as you just need to wait for weather RNG instead (Fair/Clear->Blizzard).
No idea on if it needs mooch or a different bait but best bet is always to gamble on Cloud Cutter mooch I guess, especially as it just looks like a spiced up Rhamphorhynchus/Mahar.

was able to catch a void bass at 4pm clear -> gloom

Seahag is not a weather change. Its clear/fair at around 7pm-12pm. Caught mine with wind>fair

A commenter on ff14angler claims to have caught Blood-red Bonytongue at 5:30 AM during Fog (previous weather also possibly Fog) via a mooch from Silverfish HQ. I had no success in replicating it so far, but maybe you guys would have a better luck.

Are any of these desynthable into anything of value or just trophy fish?

Aside from Ninja Betta none of the fish so far seems to have anything that will be of high value like the summer gear, but it's still too early to tell.
