Yoshi P. and Foxconn
What keeps me playing this game? There's content I've yet to clear (SBCoB), the story, which is about to get a lot more interesting, and above all, the friends I've made in the game.
To honest i was about quite after met some players that where farming fates for adma.
I choose wrong class to play with Bard is simply horrible to play.
They told me to keep playing until reach 50 to reroll to Lancer or Scholar ^^.
Ever sinds than I'm farming with them to day I'm heading to hunting to farm Seal/token for level 50 gear.
So far community of this game is fine compared other mmo's played with
I like the game. I'm someone who has no life, but even still between helping friends and just goofing off, I have a lot left I still need to do.
Also, I like Yoshi-P.
My friends, and tackling new content. My FC isn't super hardcore so most of us have yet to clear T5, and we just recently got our clears on Levi EX and Mog EX. We still need to clear T5, Titan EX, Ifrit EX, Ramuh EX, and then start on SCoB. I also haven't finished leveling all of my crafting classes, so I want to do that. And although I have tanks at 50, I didn't level through dungeons (bad tank alert!) so I'm using my alt character to do it the right way (leveling by doing dungeons). I hope to become good enough to run as a tank every now and then when we do serious stuff, because eventually, I do want the tank mounts! ^_^
I've never had a moment when I felt like there was nothing to do. I've had moments when I didn't feel like doing anything, but that's totally different.
What keeps me playing... Its a freaking classic Final Fantasy... Been in the game since beta 3 and only looking forward for more to come...never gonna leave this..TY SE
One person I really like and have no other means to spend time with.
If not for them, I'd probably have quit playing a while ago.
The real honest reason?
Waiting for RDM. Some people like the lore, others the sky or w.e, some like the vert. aimless grind, some even enjoy the lolsfakepvp, others love the almost slow motion combat system, and then you got some people who just hang around for friends.
I honestly just want to play RDM lol. And AA isn't out yet, but I doubt ill need to stop playing for that so meh.
Btw, side-bar still wanting that ffvii fate with tifa so I can swag some of her gear. lolswhat emote right punch to the face? Don't mind if I do.
I'm pretty sure that people are praising the small details, and the ambiance of the story, after all that's half of what makes a story unique.
Remember, most of what you call cliches are just inevitable aspects of life, this is an mmo after all, they have a lot of ground to cover, not just the "original" stories that you're talking about (which IMO are already present in the game.) The complex unique story comes after the foundation has been set.
Also don't make the mistake that because it has a lot of inspired content and allusions to past ff games, it's unoriginal. If anything the game is even more creative and original because of these elements, because it's all implemented creatively and fits in with the world, so it actually is original in it's own way, especially for the series which usually has no connections between the various games :).
I've been playing consistently since the game launched on PS4 back in February. This is my first subscription-based MMO, and I am in no way a fanboy of the FF games (never beaten one before, first ones owned were IX and X, didn't care about any FF until Versus XIII [now XV] was announced, and never had any desire to play any of the main XIII ones). I really do love the world and visuals, and am no where near the point where I have run out of stuff to do/work toward. And even though I've been playing this long, it wasn't until recently that I joined a real FC with some actual active members. That has breathed even new life into the game for me. I look forward to having a chat with my FC Leader each day, and we help each other.
That said, I am taking some planned time off with the release of a certain MMO-esque shooter next week.
Because there's literally nothing else for me to spend my free time doing other than watching TV (no thanks), or going to play another MMO (definitely not happening).
Seriously though, FFXIV is probably the best MMO on the market right now. The raids are really fun, and the people I play with make the game even more fun. Sure, I spend most of my day sitting at my FC house while I'm watching YouTube, but knowing that I'm not going to find a better experience elsewhere is what keeps me here.
Having said that, I'm not the kind of person to go out and level every job, crafter, and gatherer to 50. If I were, I'd still have more than enough to do. There are things in the game for me to do, I just choose not to do them.
My FC above all keeps me coming back. They're amazing(ly friendly) people and just being around them is a blast, and I really would have stopped a long time ago - instead they're so awesome I even asked friends to get XIV and join the FC as well and we're all enjoying it immensely.
As for in-game activities, my exact interests change every couple weeks. For a three-week period I was focused on maxing out Soldiery and doing other battle content to get my UAT weapon completed. By comparison, in the last week and a half, I've gotten maybe 100 soldiery each week and instead have been fishing like a madman. My interests jump all over the place to various personal goals, and there's enough going on in the game for me to do so.
I set a few personal goals but mainly waiting to see how an expansion is handled.
Over all I like the game, not love it. I have lost a lot of respect for the team over the poor design and implementation of hunts and the fact they are still not fixed makes me very uneasy with SE (imo)
The game is beautiful, gear design...meh somewhat clownish but better then some!
I have absolutely no interest in coil nor most primals due to terrible community attitude (not design nor difficulty)
FFXIV has become an "on the side" game for me now.
Will dive into WoD when that launches and I always have kept FFXI active too so with 3 games to bounce between ,I'm good with the current state of this game since I have others to go to when the decisions here are disappointing.
There is enough to keep me subbed but not too active.
Hunts are fine now, its just the players that make them suck at this point.Quote:

I keep playing because this is my first MMO and I am excited of the unknown about this game.
Nothing, I quit a while back. I'm only back right now to see what changed, but I'm leaving again after this month.
I want raid content, not filler fluff. E.g. they spend so much time making so many things I'll never touch, and expect people to keep playing with 1 relevant raid to do... nope.
I always find things to do and when i finish the things I like to do I usually combo it with another game.
ATM I'm doing the ixali quests, caping my crafts and doing some hunts. (I hate hunts though lol)
Also a big reason to log in is to meet friends :D
There are still lalafells on my server who haven't blisted me for abundant awkward petting. A hero's work is never done.
Funny, I want filler fluff that's actually worth putting time into.
Not this Vista crap...Personal housing, Golden Saucer, Triple Triad will make people stay for so long.
Also, yeah...Coil being the end-all for over a year now is getting to be a bit boring. I'd like some change
rather CT/COIL/CT/COIL every patch...I come and go a lot with this game to be honest with you.
I honestly have no idea anymore. I want to enjoy fishing like in 11 but there is no profit to it. Coil is the only endgame content and it comes with drama because of the lockouts and need for statics. There is no real point in doing rep quests, not that I see. But I do them anyway. I enjoy the FC community, if it wasn't for that I'm sure I wouldn't be here anymore. I have tons of other games I can't play because I don't want to get behind in 14, what sense does that make when the content I'm doing in order not to fall behind will just be replaced with another pointless grind in a month or so?
The forums and how unreasonable people are.
That and Ninja is coming.
Things liiiiiike this. :) I like having fun in the between times of leveling and trying to get things done. It doesn't happen often and this is the first party I know of but just having a good time with my character keeps me playing.
I enjoy everything really. This game is relaxing, I consider myself "hardcore" and instead of focusing on everything I've completed I have just learned to take my time, enjoy the awesome world of Eorzea and work towards future planning. There will be many really awesome things in the future, I believe very much the game so far is just a small bit of what we have to come.
What keeps me playing? Well, right now I'm trying to get WHM to 50 and get her ilvl to 90, also working on getting marks and rank lvl for the R34 chest piece for WHM on Broderlands (going REALLY slow on that one sadly) but the main reason I keep coming back is my FC.
I'm having fun! :o
I get to meet people from all over the world.
I do everything in game, so I still have much to do!
I make little fun goals for myself.
Player-run events!
Alts!
Visiting other servers.
Lala tanks!! <3
I play because I love the game. Plus, there's nothing out I'd rather play. So until Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls 6 comes out, I'm playing FFXIV.
