*sigh* Almost feel like giving up on this game

Thank you all for being so supportive, it really means a lot to me.

When I get home in an hour I'm going to give hunts a try, since I've never done them. If I don't feel some sort of accomplishment after doing them, I don't think I will resub. After reading about all the things I've missed because of grinding atma, I feel hopelessly behind everyone else now. I guess I should put my effort completely into catching up and leveling my other classes. I suppose if they are going to make atma easier to get in the future, then it would technically be a waste of time to continue to suffer doing it now.

But there is good news. I got the helmet out of Syrcus tower last night :) I guess I'm a little bit better of a tank now. I just discovered that I haven't even killed Ramuh at all yet either...it looks like I missed out on quite a bit of content.

Is the gear you get from hunts good for pve raids?

And I thought my 700 fates to get 12 was bad...

Yep. Been doing it all day today, from 9am and it's 7:30 pm, running frontlines in between, all day here in Outer Lanoscea, still no atma.

The gear itself is mostly just for vanity purposes. But you can buy Blood-Spattered Mark Books for 250 seals each. From there, you can buy Oils of Time (2 books) or Sands of Time (3 books) which you can use to upgrade soldiery weapons, armor, and accessories to i110. I think they can be boring, but hunts definitely help you progress gearing your character in between all the lockouts from Coil, ST, and soldiery weekly allotments.

Hang in there. But that being said, I think it's smart to take a break for a while if you're burned out. Don't ever let this game feel like a chore.

Forgive me for asking, But you do have a Zenith equipped right?
I mean... I have hunted for ATMA a couple of times forgetting that my Levi book was equipped instead so...

I did have one ATMA that took me 24 hours to get but that was the one and only terrible one I had over 2 sets of them.
Well... another 2 took 6 hours but w/e

I'm sorry I don't know what else to do. All I can do is scream about how unfair it is. My attitude is so poor right now. I didn't even want to do this today, but my boyfriend needs seals to rank up in the flames before he can do hunts with me, so we're doing fates, and doing them in places where I need atma. And still, all day today...nothing.

*nods* Well I at least have some suggestions for you.

1. Breathe - You are doing it for 3000 achievement anyways.
2. Don't spend more then an hour in one zone, I don't know why but I feel it helps.
3. If possible, go with a friend.
4. Watch something while you do it. I only have 1 monitor so I use window mode, turn down the res. and watch movies or series.
5. make sure you have lots of inventory room... nothing worse then farming for an hour and then realising your inventory has been full while will prevent you from getting the drop
6. Go apologize to your BF, explain you are just super frustrated at your misfortune :p

I will admit only halfarsed making an attempt for it because of the RNG grind being personally rather lazy but I've still only managed to level 2 classes to 50 (three I guess since I got SCH with SUM but the final quest is broken and I can't finish it but thats a story for another day), I've gotten one Zenith and that's it. I would second the suggestions others have made of taking a fate break because you've burned yourself out or do the ones to help your boyfriend level up and then go run ST and frontlines till you dream of it. And maybe you'll look up and realize you have all the things you need for your i100 and i110 weapon and Atma will just be just a distant memory.

It isn't about the game, it's about accomplishing the goals I set for myself. I always follow through when I say I'm going to do something, and always get things done 100% when I've committed myself to them. I'm having so much grief because I've committed myself to it so much already, but it still isn't enough, so I have to keep going because if I don't I feel like all the time I've spent was wasted, and that I've failed myself as a person because I didn't keep my word when I said I was going to get something done and gave up halfway through.

Thanks, I'm trying to uncommit myself psychologically right now. It's just so hard because I always get the "legendary weapons" in every game, its one of my favorite things to do. BTW, if you've been doing fates together with your boyfriend, maybe it's HIS luck that's rubbing off on you....

Just finished my ATMA grind last night, 5 weeks at about 3 hours a night, probably around 121 hours of focused, fate hunting only. I feel your pain. Take a break, do some other content, make the game fun for yourself again, then get back to the grind. Hoping for you!

A sure fire way to get atma is to have me join your party... Every time I join an Atma farming party, everyone seems to start getting Atma... Of course, not me though

My boyfriend has convinced me to shelve it until they make some dramatic changes to how atma works because its simply ruining the game for us. We've got sight seeing logs, chocobo farming, main story stuff, hunts, and other classes to level. I've resigned myself to give up and take the 110 level weathered weapon instead.

I'm truly very sorry for being such a whiner. My emotional state kind of went all over the place, but I guess I've been through the five stages of grief now and have finally hit acceptance. Thank you all for being supportive, even though I didn't really do anything to deserve it but whine more. I'm really sorry.
