Now here is something to think about... "who pretend to be cat girls on the internet". So... my character is a cat girl >.> on the internet <.< ...there is no pretending. In real life however... well I am a girl (not a cat) and no, you can't have my picture. Of course, you're on a different server so... my reply is kind of irrelevant.
I just find these posts funny. Regardless I'm sure some hurting happened in the past for the OP, or something, of which, sorry you had to experience. Asking everyone through a forum though... eh. Goodluck with that.
Well, regardless if they are female or male, they still aren't a 'cat-girl.' Even if you or they wanted to be. It's an rpg and people can do whatever they damned well please. -. - (I am a real female playing a Miqo'te, for the record.)
Met my current gf on FFXI :D and we live together! When i first met her i insisted she was a dude lol
Most guys as catgirls will just say right away "amma guy", if you play along then thats just wrong and you're an asshat for doing so, quite immature. Can view some census stats on my site about races: http://xivpads.com/?i=census Miqote quite high.
Tho amma female char, not a cat, a hyur. I picked female as i knew i'd be staring at my chars behind 80% of the time i play so might as well make it look good =D. Plus the hyurs males dont loo kas good as they did in XI =(
Lol reinhart i had a fat black lady laugh to that anecdote (i'm also irl black, not just pretending to be black in game so people don't have to start another forum about it /joke)
Needs more Elezen.
Edit: As a precaution, I treat everyone in game/on the internet in general relatively the same until I know for fact that they are male or female. Most of the time I still treat them rather the same unless we become pretty good friends.
Am I the only one who thinks it'd be awesome to meet people irl who play XI or XIV of either sex?
I'd be overjoyed if my wife started playing XIV.
Pretty much all of my real-life friends today are people I met playing FFXI. One of them even ended up being my roommate for a year. A bunch of us are going to meet up at PAX next month in Seattle!
I had a girlfriend I met on XI. I had another girlfriend that plays Guild Wars (although I only played that game briefly, and I met her through a situation unrelated to video games). I can tell you from experience that finding a gamer girl to go out with you is not the be all end all. She also has to not be psychotic. That, I find, is a difficult combination to discover.
Because women don't function the same way men do when it comes to sex. We can shut ourselves down and not break a sweat. Men.. Yeah - very, very, very difficult. That tactic would be an epicfailtotheface situation. :)
I am a woman and I play a mi'qote and an female elezen. It is actually amusing to know who are females in the ls that play female characters because when we are grouped with guys that play female characters you just cannot tell if you are a person looking from the outside in.
I haven't been hit on yet in this game, but I'm sure it'll happen.
It happened to me a lot in XI and, for the life of me, I could never understand why - especially later into the game's years - there were still people who assumed "Mithra = Female Player", full knowing Mithra, as characters, could only be female.
It was funny, because as long as people thought I was female IRL, they were generous as hell (lending gear 'til I was able to replace it, etc), were always willing to help, offering help un-asked sometimes, etc. etc. As soon as they found out I was male, suddenly they needed their gear back, didn't want to lend it out anymore "in case someone decided to steal it", never had time to help with anything anymore, etc.
Of course, they'd continued lending the stuff and falling all over themselves to help people they knew, or at least still thought, were female IRL.
I figured they were helping just because they were one of those rare types who enjoyed helping others out when they could.
I've had people seriously go off on me when they thought I was female and started hitting on me. I'd tell them I'm a guy and - obviously embarrassed by their presumption - they'd start interrogating me, calling me all sorts of terms related to being gay, etc. I'd say "Dude, we're in a game where Mithra can only be one sex. Knowing this, you assumed that female character = female player. Don't go off on me because you made an ass of yourself".
A few put me on ignore lol.
Basic rule I follow: In an online game, when it comes to gender, assume nothing. Has worked out really well for me so far.
Really, really sad.
You never met my ex-girlfriend.
The difference between men and women when it comes to the "withholding sex" tactic: Men will just break up with you and find someone else (or just use their hands), while a woman is liable to smother you with your pillow while you sleep.
i don't see why it matters sooo much to know who's a girl and who's not... so a player has gender confusion issues.. i find the majority of players watch anime or read manga or both, in turn may have come across a cat girl or two... it's true it's sad if you're looking for love on this game... there is that word again "game"
A game is structured playing, usually undertaken for enjoyment and sometimes used as an educational tool. Games are distinct from work, which is usually carried out for remuneration, and from art, which is more often an expression of aesthetic or ideological elements.
so sit back enjoy the fun and try not to rack your brain on non essential information
lol i dont understand this. What's the difference if you're a girl or a guy. Ichi was hitting on the Mi'qote... that's a girl... Ichi knows what he likes.
Oddly enough, I have never played an opposite gender in my whole time with MMOPRGs... Actually, that's the case with any game that has given me a choice between genders. There's probably some psychoanalysis opportunity somewhere in there I'm sure. I also believe everyone else in game, whether they support double D's or are a bear's next cousin, is a guy unless otherwise stated.
From experience, the guys I've known chose their characters based on looks rather than gender. It's really not that important. It only becomes a problem if they don't know which joystick to use when playing the game.
lol. Very practical of you.
I love how the majority of the people who posted on here are Mithra's.. and I bet 95% of them are men.
heh I'm a kitty but my name kinda gives me away "Leon Maximilian" lol :P nah I just like Miqo'te as a race srsly! '-'
Greasy hair and bad breath does not make you a dude.
Dudes (not to be confused with The Dude, who is the man for his time and place), following my definition, have gelled up hair, they put their baseball caps on backwards, and they have this weird thing about wearing tennis shoes on bare feet, while wearing socks under sandals.
They also wear cargo shorts in the middle of winter, and they have fake tans in February.
LOOL id say 97% of the miquote i know are actually guys irl.... I'd have to say 90% of the female elezen however (including myself) are ACTUALLY GIRLS (and probably short irl....like me) weird eh? All us short girls wanna be super tall, and all the guys wanna be.... short little catgirls o.O errr..
I am human and staying human! It's weird in every mmo I always pick human when I should pick elf or something. >_>
I just always try to make the hume look like me. Guys prob like looking at a catgirl when they play so why not be the catgirl and spin that tail lolz. I loved how in ffxi there was a mithra and his name was imaguy lol
I wish there was a shaving option because the hair I put under my chin...I don't like it anymore XD
Wow this thread is still going? Yikes...btw...I'm a female who plays a kitteh in game o.o; so I take great offense to this post...while at the same time lmao! LOL
