Why do you even care?
This isn't World of Warcraft. And even in World of Warcraft there are plenty of players that are going to tell you that your performance as a player across the board is more important than the class you play.
Just because a class is strong in this game doesn't mean you're going to see 3-4 of that class in every run. Back before I quit we had two BLMs in our group and one of them wanted to be Summoner because he thought it would be better for the group. No idea what he's doing now, but wouldn't be surprised if they were still running 2 BLM.
So really, what is this about? Afraid you aren't going to top meters? Think you have to have the crown so people in a group environment can appreciate the role you play in their group?
psh
Just play the game.
In chat, "Mind if I offer you a little advice on rotation? Help make you a killing machine!" (no response) "Try F3-F1-F1-F1-F1-B3-full mana-F3-F1 and repeat. Use F3 free spells when they come up on single targets."
Response: "Lol! No keyboard. I'm on PS4"
"F = fire"
And then I just left it alone. Didn't want to push it. We did make it to the final boss though.
well you tried to give advise at least, certain when he reaches coil others will be vocal ;)
I've always wanted Freeze to have have like a 5 second "Frozen" effect, where the affected whatever is stunned and would take X% extra damage from the next fire element spell, but the effect would end when hit by the spell in question. Make it work on bosses without the stun effect and give it a 1 minute CD or whatever, and maybe it could find some more uses than just casting it on squirrels.
Well, something like that, anyway.
me i have a question, yes now the blm have get a small buff for compensate fight like in BC2, however... don't that boost is too powerfull for the rest of the content? because that the question after all, the game is not endgame only.
Monk dps is powerfull on long fight where you don't loose your buff, on short fight blm and drg destroy this easily. other point, what is the tradeoff of the blm so far: no mana trouble, no position, no combo, ranged... i like how people forget how blm is an easy class to play in comparaison of the smn and mnk and come to say that. if they don't want to reduce AoE damage, what i understand, maybe reduce the mana regeneration from the ice states. i dunno for me the buff make the blm overpowered in all the other content exept bc2... and that a big trouble!
BLM is fine. Damage potential is high, but RNG tends to balance it out. People tend to forget that BLM damage, while spiky, is slow when RNG is unkind. The rotation is simple, but being able to anticipate correctly separates good BLMs from the rest. Poor positioning and timing is extremely detrimental since entire casts or vital procs can be wasted. Can't just duck out for 1 sec and immediately resume your combo lol.
this math is right, however, the number you get are quite different in real fight. i means, more higher the stats will be, more the effect of the increase of 10% will be important. and the magical damage of the black mage are already quite high, indeed the trouble of the immobility of the cast it's to take in account, but actually, in real fight... no one can beat a blm dps on fight of 1-2 minutes.Quote:
As to people wondering about the DPS increase, here's some math.
There's a simple equation you can use to determine BLM pot/GCD (explanation here; if I got any of the numbers/casts phase wrong, feel free to correct me). Currently (2.1), BLM has...
(275 + .25 * 340) + (220 * .5 * .8333) + ((150 + 70 * .4) * 1.8 * 6) + (220 * .5 * .8333) = 2465.73 potency over 9 "GCDs" = 273.97 magic potency per GCD
With the potency increases, BLM has...
(275 + .25 * 340) + (240 * .5 * .8333) + ((170 + 70 * .4) * 1.8 * 6) + (240 * .5 * .8333) = 2698.39 potency over 9 "GCDs" = 299.82 magic potency per GCD
This means that BLM will see about a 9.4% (299.82 / 273.97 - 1) increase in total damage, which might as well just be a 10% increase.
like i did said, the black mage is fine in BC2 now, but in the rest of the content, like dungeon... it's not the case, this increase can be seen and feel quite easily. since the fight are shorter the damage output can be quite impressive and i'm concerned that this boost that was only for 4 raid will have a real bad impact on the whole balance of the game. the balance of a class must'nt only based on the endgame that not the most important part of the game.
ps: i had experence of blm in dungeon simply chaining fire 1 of 1000-1300 (without critical, nor fire 3), it's impossible for any other class to reach this sort of dps in the soo little time...
Only drawback I've seen with this buff is that it's a lot easier for BLMs to steal aggro unintentionally in lower level content, where the buff was unnecessary.
If the dd's don't follow the attack order tank sets on low level dungeons pld is in trouble in the 30-40 gap, especially if you have 2 bards popping all their CD's and attacking different enemies(not including Quelling Stikes cause who wants to pop a CD that doesn't give you dmg boost?) Post lvl 40 though, then you should not have problems as pld with enmity. And if a warrior can't hold aggro, then theres something wrong.
