WTF does every job to 50 have anything to do with liking the game or hating it? The topic is about the future and direction the game is going in. You think have jobs to 50 had anything to do with the current direction this game is going in? No this is where your wrong I did not hate the game at one time, I hate the game now for what it has turned out to be. Huge difference.
This thread is heading downhill fast...

The sheer amount of asshats in MMOs these days because of internet anonymity, I can see why people don't speak up. These asshats are not just leaving groups, they belittle other players without any conscious. We're all playing video games here, not fighting for our lives, have the decency to be courteous, it goes a long way but I'm sure it's all wishful thinking on my part.

Back to the topic I agree with the OP 100% case closed.
I was actually referring to the meaningful story portion of coil more than I was referring to the gear portion of end-game and how story depth starts being less when presented through CT, Primals, and other smaller tidbits like relic weapon and beast tribe dailies. Yet Main Scenario and Hildebrand keep that depth.
Personally I don't enjoy the way gear is being handled since all this constant upgrading of numbers which forces a very unhealthy obsession of the overall number gain.
From my perspective they should've made 6 types of gear all the same ilvl and all equally BiS as well. = Det, Crit, Speed, Balanced, hybrid (this becomes more than 1 type of set), and slotted (which would give slotted gear a lot of meaning if they made materia like FFVII). Yet that's just me.
Yet if you look at end-game just from a "gear" perspective, everything outside of coil doesn't have much meaning outside of "vanity".
I've had a lot of friends leave and stop playing for the same reasons. End game isn't much fun unless you for some reason enjoy running the same dungeons over and over again. My friends keep me around...but there's not much to do other than running the same dungeons. I'd love some more social content, but I imagine that's not going to happen until Golden Saucer
The game is a theme-park.
This is new if you never played the more recent mmo games however the element itself is dated.
Yoshida took what majority liked and threw it together in FFXIV ARR.
The game doesn't really suck but the replay value is not really there.
People don't really grind for the experience, they do it for the weekly.
FFXIV ARR is a simple game for simple people. There is no depth, there is no customization.
And that is fine, if you like those types of games.
There is no sandbox element, so you can't really make your own game. PvP is horrid so no point in trying that either. Crafting just recently got sorta-kinda worth leveling so you can try that.
Otherwise, you won't get that.. "What new gonna happen today?" jittery, mouth-filling, spine-tingling, mushy-mushy feeling from XIV like you would from a game with true exploration.
iirc, Yoshida made it clear that XIV ARR will be as safe and "westernized" as possible to appeal to the masses.
The game is everything that "made" WoW successful. Not what made it fun.
Not really possible as it's obviously will be min-maxed for each class to small number of "best" for this job choices
I thought people mostly stopped running Brayflox SR after introduction of daily quest for Mysterious Map? :cool:
Why bother with SR (if you are not weekend player) if you can max soldiery on daily quest you will go anyway and SR for additional map is just too taxing (16 runs for each map). It simpler to go on some other roulettes, especially Trial one which often gives you 80+ myth for 10 mins.
