It probably isn't right now, but it will be shared in the future. The way SE works with hairstyles is:

Each major patch (2.2, 2.3, etc.):
- One race gets 1 new, exclusive hairstyle (Roegadyn in 2.1, Elezen in 2.2, Highlander (or Hyur?) in 2.3);
- All races get 1 new hairstyle;
- All races get 1 cross-over hairstyle from another race (You can see Miqote and Midlander with the 2.2 exclusive Elezen hair there).

Seems Highlanders get the exclusive stick this round, but it will probably be available to all races in 2.4. I wonder when it will be Miqo's turn!

Have no fear! I'm sure the Highlander hairs will be done for everyone in 2.4 just like we're all getting the Elezen hairstyles this patch.

It would seem Highlanders got a specific hair for this round.

The "old" 2.2 hair that was specific to Elezen Males is now the 'everyone gets it' hair, as per their hair production cycle ethos.

That's how every patch has been though its nothing new. Roe only got one hairstyle then next patch everyone got it, same with the midlander hairstyle.

But I do agree I wish they would add more with each patch but it doesn't look like they are gonna change it anytime soon.

Bump: Here's my two cents. TL;DR Alert.

I wish we had long, curly or afro texture hairstyles for FFXIV like Mariah Carey, Beyonce Knowles, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Undercover Brother hair (lol), like, no offense to those that like the hair that's already in the game (A.K.A. Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic hair), but being someone who has loose, yet curly hair like Mariah (because I'm biracial) I noticed that there's not a lot of games that have hairstyles that have these, they're wavy, but not CURLY and I wish companies for games/MMOs would realize or remember that there's other textures other than just relaxed, straight hair and hair that looks like it's been curled with a curling iron:

This is correct. For example, in a future patch we're planning to add the dreadlock hairstyle from Highlander females to other races as well. When we release brand-new hairstyles, fundamentally we will be adding them for a specific race when they are implemented, but in consequent patches we will unlock it for other races too.

i know ill get flack for the title of my post, but as a male playing as a male miqote im disheartened by the constant female haircuts given to us its annoying and really pissing me off. i have rendered an example of an acceptable male hair cut their are many more that could make us look more like men rather gender confused.

Am I going crazy or is there like an MSPaint Miqot'e ear on the bottom right one with his real ear stamp tooled out. Also those are hipster haircuts if I've ever seen one.

I'd like plain long hair for males. Not the farrah fawcett hair that covers half my face that we received last 2 patches. I'd want the highlander and hyur (I think elezen have them) male long hair style.

Yea, I don't get why someone who is clearly trying to have a "what sex are they?" character appearance is complaining about a lack of "distinct male hairstyles".

Those are some hideous examples and uh, perhaps inappropriate for supporting your point.
