What is the ideal total stat for deter then? And does crit delivers more satisfying results, despite it's heavily RNG-based?

Right now, probably the best stat choice is 44 SSPD, 31 DET. Maybe... depends on how big of an impact a constant 251 Piety level has, and how much it costs to get it.

Not that. I mean the total deter shown on your character information, like 200-something for deter or 400-ish for ss/crit.

for me , I finished it up with 44 ss, 27 crit 4 pie

but I got HA weapon before novus done so I can't test it...

I went with 42 Crit, 25 Det, 8 PIE (for a minimum 251 regardless of party makeup). Someone was asking for stats earlier - I'm currently at 541 crit 329 det. Accuracy is 452 (1 point too high for T6/7, which I can live with). Very happy with my rotation and damage output.

The optimal setup is what you can afford. (Leaning towards more DET and spellspeed)
In the end, Novus isn't BiS anyway. HA staff is.

Just as a reference for all of you going the Novus route, my ss with weathered Laevateinn and mix of coil and weathered soldiery gear is 445, crit 511 but my acc is too high, at 495 (was 503 before i got Skyla Robe)
and 241 for determination. I honestly would of went Novus route but with 3 + months and well over 300 fates and only 6 atmas to show for, well i be tired of the grind.
Spell Speed and crit would be my 2 favoured slot upgrades but determination as well.
My current setup i may even restat because of this.
