This.
This is a tweak of the armoury system that should be in the game at some point. Now, without the physical level, it will be much harder to implement. Too bad they are taking it away... Regardless, the non-class class could have its advantages, but it should be discussed in another thread.

the thing about the armory system is you can never get weapon or handheld rewards from events like the fans in FFXI or the wooden katana, i mean beating stuff witha lvl 1 katana with a bunch of people was an awsome event!

Theoretically they could do this, even with the armoury system. All you would really need is to make an event weapon for each class, with the same graphic model.

It would be nice to get a good variety of lesuirely outfits to quest for, not only for these seasonal events, but for various different missions/quests etc.. Much like the crowns and such you earned in XI for completely storyline quests..

At this point, I'm guessing they probably will activate it when FFXI's usually goes live, which is the first or second week of August... >.<!!!!!

The closest thing I find to being a "civilian" looking class is I jst run around with a small dagger all the time. Just makes it look like im rocking a blade for protection.

Wow! I didn't think the dev team would be that on task when it came to such a seemingly small complaint. I thought we'd have to wait until next year's summer festival event to get something like that introduced. Would still appreciate a look at linkshell management tools though.
