CT Part 2 and gear - will it just be i100 at this point?

My expectation is also that CT2 gear will be ilvl 100, but IF they finally iron out pre-made alliances and get them functioning, then it's also possible that we could see CT2 being more difficult/rewarding than Second Coil. Do I expect this? No. Is it possible, yes.

And +1 to CT2 dropping Oils/Sands. An 8 man static in Second Coil with multiple people gearing out alt jobs in soldiery gear will NEVER get enough sands/oils (2@/week if clearing T9) just from Second Coil

First off.. ct1 came in late.. it was supposed to serve a COMPLETELY different purpose than what it ended up doing. with the way this game has a vertical gear lv progression.. I would think the gear.. IF ANY GEAR it could surprise us what ct2 drops... will be at LEAST 100 but I would bet on 110 or even 115 120... with most of us playing the game having most if not all 50s it will not make bc2 or weathered obsolete for a LONG time.. even if they removed the cap for all raid gear.. would still take months to gear all those jobs to 110+... especially if the new ct gear is job specific.. I also think the novus/weathered upgrades will see some kind of appearance

The chances that CT will offer better gear than Coil2 is abysmally slim. Also the population of players with all 50s is rather small as well.

i disagree since imo weather gear is the new darklight so CT gear needs to be better. plus its gonna be AF2 i wouldnt be surprised if its 110

By comparison myth gear would be the new darklight. Ilvl100 or Ilvl105 would still be better than ilvl90. If they make CT2 ilvl110 they will completely invalidate the new coils. Where are you readin about af2 from the next CT floors?

One drop per week does not invalidate coil2. I don't believe it will be i110 but it would give the game a huge boost. There has to be a second path to i110 outside of coil whether it's CT or not.

I'm fine with i100 gear if they make pieces worth owning. Most of the i100 soldiery gear is trash due to skill speed.

Then have the final boss of CT have a small chance to drop oils/sands in addition to the bosses droping sub i110 gear (though greater then i90). But flat out giving CT gear i110 is ridiculous and unreasonable. Soldiery Gear starts at i100 for a reason, otherwise there would have been no point to not doing what SE did with Myth/Allagan.

i can only think of 2 ways the new ct can be.

1. going by the slot that the first ct fit into gear-wise, expect i95 gear and/or..

2. the new ct may drop sands/oils of time in order to bridge the gap for players that buy weathered but are unable or unlucky with coil2 (i really hope its this)

What if it doesn't drop any gear, but instead allows you to upgrade CT1 gear to the speculated ilevels discussed so far?

interesting. would bring a little bit of life back to CT1 with those who got rid of or never got certain sets.

I sure hope not. Very very tired of old CT and 2.3 is a major patch so it will need some solid substance.

CT2 is just 1 addition coming in 2.3 and I don't see how tying it into the first part would suddenly take away from the new.

I think its either going to be i95 or i105 at best. I just dont think CT will have the best gear available. After the expansion that may change but for now best gear will come from Coil.

It's crystal tower ffs. Remember how face roll easy the 1st installment of CT was.
Yoshi knows CT is meant to bridge the gap to coil but still be under the current tome gear.
Myth gear/ coil 1 = the new DL
Sol gear = the new myth gear
Upgraded sol = the alternative
2nd coil = new coil / top gear
If CT2 was as hard as 2nd coil without a better alliance design then it'll be a wipefest from people who can't dodge and people who fail at mechanics regardless of practice.
CT gear should and will never surpass or be on par with tome/ coil gear.
If CT was all the worth compared to tome gear then wouldn't u feel silly to have wasted all that tomes on gear that is obsolete compared to the new CT gear?

Being able to form your 24 man Alliance teams in advance should help some of the trolling imo.

As for Gear il95 or il105 would be my guess.

at the same time that they showed high allagan designs they showed new af designs as well inspired by old ff games. that gear WILL drop in CT2.

upgraded sol gear is not an "alternative". seeing as how the stats and ilvl are just as good, if not better in spots than Coil2 gear, and the only way to get said upgrade is to do Coil2. the only way to make CT2 mean anything is to have the gear be ilvl100, and/or have ways to get something worth while, like people have said; either droping of an UID Tome, or sand/oil. the sand/oil is a bit much imo because that will speed up the gearing process for people doing Coil2 and CT2, but if its just the UID tome, then the only thing that they would be able to get/upgrade is a weapon, while being able to get gear from the dungeon itself.

Anything that ties to coil loot drops should remain in coil.
Why would CT drop it? It may help with gearing but will it help really in the long run. If we could "over" gear coil without even stepping into coil.
(I.e gearing up in myth and achieving mostly i90 without even touching coil)

Yea I'm gonna say 100 aswell. Coil2 and the upgraded armor Are both 110. So why would they make ct part 2 95 ? So i100 would only make sense. And seeing out it's probably gonna be weekly drops like how ct was then yeah

no, it wasnt. it turned out that way because it was released late. the gear progression was supposed to be darklight, ct,myth/allagan.

ilvl 110 loot in CT2? I would not make sense unless CT2 is as hard as Coil2, and I doubt it will be, since I expect a "casual" triple full parties dungeon. I would rather bet on ilvl95~100. It might also drop something else than armor pieces such as for example: jewelries.

i95 gear would be pointless to have drop in CT2.

Excluding the possibility of oil/sand/unidentified or accessories, i100 gear is the most likely to drop, with i70 average being required to enter.

It's certainly not going to cater to hardcores wanting a challenge on the level of, or exceeding, second coil.
People will just have to live with the fact that CT is intended for the masses while coil is intended for the people seeking a challenge, even if that's not what was originally planned.

I'd place my bet to ilvl 95.

it seems like you are ignoring the fact that the first ct was late. because of that one fact, it kind of has to stay with ct coming after coil. as many have said, the only way to make ct2 relevant is i100, and possible tome/sand/oil.

Yes, make it drop ilvl100 gear (lock-out) and Novus spheres, but not "tome/sand/oil"

CT2 should be relevant, but not the main hub for all progression... ilvl100 gear will be very relevant even when 2.3 comes out, cause Sands of time drops from Turn 8 and 9, and the majority of players haven't even got there. Even when you get there, it will take a long time to get all of your pieces upgraded.

That alone would be enough, but Novus spheres would make it even more relevant.

EDIT: To make myself a little more clear, I know that if you have spent all Soldiery on your main job, you might already have everything that would drop in CT2 at ilvl100 (assuming it won't drop accessories) But it could still be very much relevant for your main, cause they will probably make it have different stats than the Soldiery gear, and you could probably get better stats for some of the gear. There are a lot of bad gear out there right now.

Well, do not forget that everyone and their mama will likely have full iLvl 100 or very close to it at the time of it's release. That was not the case in 2.1. CT

All I can say is that if it's i95, don't expect to see people run it for anything more than vanity slots or alts.

The problem lies in the fact CT was released in 2.1, way too late in the day
whereas it should of been released at the beginning, as it was suppose to be a stepping stone to Coil.
They messed it up and will only have it fixed if they released Coil later, and make another CT3 before Third Coil
and people will be pissed so that won't happen lol.
Just kinda have to deal with how it's set up now because of their earlier mistake.

CT is good for newbies, alt's and vanity's. CT helped me jump into Coil like it was suppose to
and I got pieces for alts and other stuff so it's all good lol.

People are under the impression that CT will always be for glamour. The reason why the original was, was because square wanted something between 70 and 90. Unless you were gearing an alt, you already had full 90 for your main.

I think the new Crystal Tower will drop i100 and their pieces won't have so much skill speed so they're gonna be highly sought.

Non skill speed or accuracy pieces would be ideal.

CT is always going to be for glamor because they've purposely made CT into easy content as per their design philosophy that 24 people shouldn't be forced to coordinate to the extent a Coil group works together. If it's not BiS majority of the playerbase won't care past the first few initial clears when the novelty wears off. Just like CT 1 or Moggle Mog EX.

100 is just fine for new CT , also there be lockouts . We have weathered ilv 100 atm but since it's unfinished version it doesn't count . Old CT 80 > Coil 90 , so def now it will be new CT 100 > new Coil 110

again, CT was not originally meant for glamour. it was there for progression. It wasnt supposed to come out as late as it did. it was meant to be in game from the start. so no, CT is not always going to be for glamour.
