Maybe just give a one time EXP/SP bonus for anyone that has Surplus?
My main problem is still with the deception used. I understand why they did it (renaming surplus to bonus) and there have been TONS of threads on all boards with people pointing out its not really a bonus and they are just trying to sugarcoat things.
But if we dealt with the deception then we should get -some- kind of reward. an achievement, tier system rewards, conversion into guildpoints, etc. Something.
I also think that it would bring a lot of players back. Kinda like a "sorry for making you put up with that" type of thing.
You know the funny thing is a jp stated somewhere in a thread when they were ALSO disgruntled with some of the implements. >_> reminds me alot of whats said in the NA forum too. I think they stated something like....
"Come to think of it, they insinuated things but they never really promised us anything..."
I heard they're going to convert all that bonus SP into a huge EXP bonus - right before they get rid of physical levels.
I'm just happy that its gone...ripped off? hell no. I'm really glad that I can finally finish off some classes =D
goodbye fatigue and i dont care about that surplus stuff.
and lol@feeling ripped off.
I honestly don't care. As you can see 99% of my jobs are like lvl 20ish. I haven't gone much into 'bonus'. That being said, it would be awesome to login 1 day, and find I have an extra rank due to all that 'bonus' sp lol
Same all most of the peeps here. I'm just glad that they are finally doing away with the fatigue system. No more grinding of rank on fatigue. *Heart pain*
Here, fixed this for you.Quote:

If we fell for the deception then we should get -some- kind of reward.
Sounds logical to... whom?
Because, like, among the people who left, 99% have accumulated huge amounts of surplus. And they are waiting on the fence just to be reimbursed. Not because they want content or something.Quote:

Sounds convincing to... whom?
Not reading entire thread.. probably been said but, if they keep track of all the SP they stole from us, how about when rank cap is lifted, that is automatically added to the classes. Therefore we get the level we should be, and we really can forget this stupid surplus thing ever happened, because technically, it wouldn't have.
/Wishful thinking at 3am
a lot of the ppl who grinded through sp and were the first to hit 50 are probably the "elite" players that are needed to have a successful endgame (they are the ones that spend all their time, get awesome gear, and make other ppl who see them want to have their stuff or be like them. Ex. ppl with ultimate weapons in ffxi) . Most of these people also left for other games like rift.
Giving them a sp bonus or some kinda bonus for pushing through surplus at the start of the game would be a great incentive to return. And they'd be returning to a new battle system which should "hook" them back onto the game.
I didn't feel ripped off until I realized I sat here and read 10 pages of this.
I read some and then skipped to the end to only to see there really is no pleasing people. So I just want to add that I think removing Surplus is probably the best thing that is going to happen to this game since they added search to the market wards.
Thank you.

I don't care at all about the "Bonus SP" they "stole" from us lol.
I'm just glad we won't have to deal with surplus anymore!
Damn, i went from 10-19 MRD in 3h, and i already had surplus.
That sucks.
Map redesign FTW. Please give us map markers.
- And the great surplus point (lol god) anniversary moogle arises from the pit of despair, tells you that you earned 250231 surplus points, died 123 times and gives you an anniversary ring. He also tells you that you will NEVER get another one, so you keep it for a year after it is used up. Your friends throw theirs away. Lo and behold they get another one.
This does suck, as we were kind of told there would be some sort of bonus in the future for the points. I was looking forward to it, and never really cared about the implementation of fatigue.
No.Quote:

They never said that.
You're making this up.
All they said is "Maybe, perhaps, it will be good for something. In the future. Perhaps."
Don't care about the lost SP I accumulated either. I think SE is doing the right thing. They could have just kept it and tested to see how it went along with the new battle system and progression changes before they wiped it.
If they want to remove it ASAP and the result of that being nothing additional being done with the accumulated points. That's fine. As long as the crap is gone. It was an awful system and should have never been included. What the old team should have done was balance the progression system rather than being cheap and setting up a road block called the fatigue system.
