Even when the thread is mostly positive, people still "argue". LOL
Square Enix could overhaul FFXI to XIVs engine.
They could add a thousand types of different fights in XIV
and make the battle system engaging. Give jobs purpose
do everything they've said they are going to do.
People will still complain.

Btw, I don't know If someone else saw that but, the name of all party members, at the end has wich job they are.

Looks pretty good, hope they have some new mob types in there though. Also doesn't seem to be the new way to gain ranks as I caught a glimpse of the SP and it was 172 for downing a mob. Really hope they have something ready for when this patch drops for groups to rank up on with the Leve nerf coming.

the good: it looks like its not a cake walk, it has mini CSs while you run through, Might be some trap like elements, its finally end game content.
the bad: re-used zone, re-used mobs, looks like a generic raid (run front to back and kill boss at the end, with included linear tunnels) some articfical 'difficulty' by having an AoE kill everyone in a huge range attack. There is only 2, people will blow through these and be bored quick sadly, all the people who have 50s didnt have much else to do.
People seem happy, but i think they are overly excited for something that pretty standard and there is only so much there. DO NOT over hype yourself for it, your just setting yourself up for a letdown.
i thought they got rid of the ability help text in the first video, why put it back in? everything else looks like a start. too bad its taking them this long to get this started.

Im just stating the obvious (at least to me). Do you really think people wont plow through these in a week and be bored? DO you really think they are THAT unique and elaborate? Is it not stuff most of us have seen before in most MMOs?
There are some nice things in these and im sure they will be fun, but im being realistic and not getting super excited for the reasons above.

Well, i don't think they need to redesign graphics only because someone leaked it from the dat. :D That is actually new graphics, for the common mortals. :P
I notice 3 things:
1- you follow the floating eye all the way "it was running away in some scenes" if you got really close from it, it will use the aoe 8k move. It has a unique mark in the mini map.
2-The blue light most likely is used to go for another area.
3- SE fixed the claiming system. hopefully.
4- Roegadyn rules, "he didn't die with the eye hit" :P
I wonder if The Mythril Eye also hacks the linkshells of certain royal and foreign dignitaries to get their scoops...
That swipe noice is from the Hippocerf's Tail Whip attack. I love farming and hunting hippocerfs very much, so I know that sound very well. The Lancer in that video uses Moonrise II, then crouches to Ferocity II, followed by a crouching weapon skill like Twisting Vice, and then the Pugilist in the Buccaneers Shirt does Seismic Toss II which has them jump into the air and perform a tremor attack. He never jumps.
Trust me, as a R50 Lancer (and my favorite class in the game by far) I would have noticed or heard of my Jump ability being added, which sadly is not in the works.... (yet)
As for the Ahriman, mentioned above, he seems like an NM that if you were to somehow kill him, would be be one of the ways to acquire the new gear. The devs even mentioned in recent post that there are numerous paths and objections, such as slaying a certain monster, taking a different path, or completing the dungeon under a certain time rewards skilled players with unique new gear.
Overall, I'm very, very happy with the video and LOVE that they included one of my favorite themes from the soundtrack into the dungeon! I KNEW it was gonna end up as a dungeon theme or something Imperial-related! :D Gonna make a video walkthrough of it when I get the chance!
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but the battle log denotes only a few things as far as the LNC's actions are concerned, and nothing new.
- Uses Ferocity II
- Chat log shows HP gain from Surge
- Chat log shows loss of Ferocity after completing Twisting Vice (巻き突き) on the Reckless Hippogryf (レクルス・ヒッポグリフ)

Looks visually really ho-hum which is pretty surprising given how they claim that they're going to respond to user feedback about bland zones. I thought this would have been the perfect chance for them to show they can do something interesting. This doesn't erase my fears that XIV artists have been on a vacation or completely assigned to other projects after the release.
That aside the trailer does look amazing. I really hope there's some story in these cutscenes and that they're not just showing off the boss enemies with them. A couple of dungeons would be the perfect way to tell a story with a real beginning and and end in a way that makes sense.
Do you think there's a chance of new music in these dungeons?
Can't wait to play it but honestly I don't understand why they look like that at all. My wish is that this was just something already in the game and the 3d team is focusing on world re-design but that's just wishful thinking.
AND I'M TOTALLY EXCITED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF REAL FF JUMP!
ahem also the effects team seems to have cranked up the quality a bit there =D
