Actually, I do agree that Levi EX seems easier. Apart from the stun-lock required for tanks, I have to say the #1 reason of failure is players failing to bait Grand Fall.

They stand all over the place and allowing the "pools" to spawn at the optimal position and this, dodging areas and allowing Grand Fall to hit everyone all over and getting the heavy debuff and thus having a more difficult time to dodge Levi's dash attacks.

It's just so simple. Tidal Roar => Position yourself to receive AoE heal => move to the 4 corners to bait the "pools" => once "pools" appear, move to the center area optimal positioning places and start watching for sprouts and dodge accordingly.

I know people who regularly clear it in DF, on a Japanese data center which is what you play on. They play with significant lag too

This was my first hand experience on the weekend that's just past, groups are struggling to get to the post heart phase in all honesty. I've seen the whole spectrum over the weekend, tanks who don't know when to swap hate, brd's who can't dodge, healers who die within 30 seconds of phase 2 starting. I think the most amusing one was the tank who didn't clear out after the tank swap and managed to point the landslide at us both, knocking OT and MT off the edge at the same time.

These people that you speak of, who are competent at Titan EX, don't seem to exist. Not from my experience. And if they really do, ask them if they can help me out! heh

3 hours of DF EX titan and nothing, but wipes. Start a group in PF and no one joins. (waited 1 1/2 hours for PF btw till I gave up)

Leviathan Extreme is about on par with Titan Extreme in difficulty. Many one shot mechanics. The fight is all about dodging. It's a bit more lenient in that regard. Titan might be a bit harder but they're close.

Body slam is trickier than Landslide. Landslide is something you should almost never get hit by but body slam can still occasionally get you. You have to know it's coming. If you're on the wrong side when it starts, you're screwed.

Spumes is just as much as dps check as heart.

Spinning charge like Boulder Bombs is where the practice is needed. You have to know what you're doing or you're just gonna run around like a headless chicken and die.

A big thing though. It's easy to revive someone in Leviathan and recover. Not so much with Titan. if someone dies, then they're probably just gonna keep dying because of weakness.

If dps is good, both fights allow one dps to be down and still win. Neither require all 8 to be perfect. Although it's easier to hit Leviathan's enrage than Titan's.

Titan is more punishing for mistakes but both fights require good dodging or you have no hope of victory. Leviathan is harder to dodge of the two because you can't memorize the fight and always be able to avoid everything. There's a fair amount of rng and it's easy to skip phases which can lead to awkward situations.

I am enjoying this fight...Have only been in for tries with two different groups and I have got the pattern down no problem...now it is time once again to find 7 others players that can dodge well with me...LOL...come on people...."Step your game up!" bonus points for anyone who knows who says that.

I hate being the only one that does that. I move to the corner then I have a maze of grand falls to navigate while keeping an out from where Leviathan is coming from. I think the problem is that only dps get targeted with grandfall, so it's a mechanic most people ignore.

The groups have been rubbish regardless of their nationality, to be quite blunt about your second suggestion.

I hate that too. Like I'm the only damn DPS doing that and when Levi starts to dive in and do the dash dash, There was times where I were immediately surrounded by like 4 of the pools and I HAVE to get out of it because sprout is coming my way. So I die either to the stacked Grand Fall damage or die to Levi's dash or die because I was less than half life and had the heavy debuff. And then the group says you suck. LOL... *rolleyes*

The only thing I dislike in Titan is the requirement of no lag, that I cannot control.
I can pre-move all I want, know every spell landing at millisecond precision, know the exact safe place for the given time, but if I don't meet that requirement, I'm dead.

Its the easiest move in the fight to dodge along with plumes, you just spot where the last set of bombs pop, wait 2 seconds after titan has finished his landslide and move to middle ... its actually much easier than the hardmode because you dont have to move straight after. You got time for that.

Other than that, no Levi isnt easier, especially when you have to dps the spumes when he is doin his dives + water aoes

Also the last set of water aoes + dives just after you re done with the 2nd set of spumes is kinda makin the water "explosion" reference thing for where levi gonna come out something quite hard to see + focus on at the same time, that and the timing for the elemental converter is also super tight, honestly can't count the number of times I've died to the 2nd Tidal Wave simply because tanks were too late, where one would say "oh but easy, paladin just pop tempered will and click on the thing when Levi is done divin so even if he take damage, he ll make it !"


Stop to spread misinformations.

I had and still have a load of problems with Titan HM, not much for mechanics but because of latency, not because of my connection but because of what is called server latency, meaning, I see the event happening 1 sec (maybe longer) after it already started although to me everything is very fluid. To counter that, I needed and still need to run often and change position often to prevent me to be hit and if something was happenign to already be in the move, and even with that, it was almost impossible for me to avoid all...after 300 attempts to get the timings right in runing around, I finally made it through, if Titan EX is even slightly harder and it looks like to be WAY harder, then for me it wont be possible to pass Titan Ex, not because of the difficulty of the fight but because of the technical limitation which isnt normal and I dont think to be the only one in this situation....

I'm still working on a win as well. Echo doesn't help as it's normally a landslide that kills most people. I was tanking it over the weekend and we were all completely fine and everyone was alive after heart. I Fastblade Titan a couple times to get my combo going for adds, Savage Blade first add, RoH second, run to 3 o'clock, flash a couple times, Tempered Will to avoid the 5 way landslide..... and when I glance over at the Plist, almost everyone is dead, including the MT.

Honestly, my biggest issue with this fight is that it doesn't matter how good you are at it. You could go the entire fight and never get hit by anything and still never get a win...
