i95 weapons drop from Leviathan HM, you can't be serious?

Nah, they said it was kind of on par with Garuda (HM). If I'm not mistaken, it was a question in the last live letter or one of the recent interviews with the magazines.

By 1 or 2 points. Not enough to make a massive difference IMO, though I'm not one to min/max or crunch numbers on damage output.

It's actually the most important stat for the respective classes/jobs. Outside of perhaps tanks whose enmity is already plenty.

Levi HM is not going to be harder then T5. You don't have to clear T5 to progress on your normal story route and you do need to clear HM.

Ex mode will be harder though but you can get a ilvl 100 out of it.

It is even for tanks. The higher the damage of RoH the higher the enmity value.

T5 weapons were hands down THE best, till today.

That's why I mentioned if your enmity was plenty already. The parry secondary stat on a slightly weaker sword "might" be preferable.

This games gear progression has been messed up for a long time now. Gear becomes obsolete before you even have a chance to wear them.

It could just be that Levi EX Will drop both versions of the weapon
FFXI many Fights either HMNMS VNMS etc would drop a weapon/gear that it had two version the normal quality weapon and the High quality weapon
Like Uptala would drop Murasamemaru that was the high quality weapon and would also drop the Bizen-osafune
both weapons had same Models but different names and different stats o.O

Relics will end at ilvl110 in 2.2
The above is probably the progression the Curtana Zenith will be upgraded through to become Burtgang.
Same applies to all the other weapons.

Am I the first FFXI player to read this thread? As soon as I saw "Burtgang" my face lit up for two reasons.
1. Excalibur isn't coming into the game yet, meaning when it does it will be the end-all of swords.
2. Burtgang is an epic weapon, and they obviously are investing in long term time-sinks, something for us to do.

Ah, so the complaint threads begin once again! (As if they never ended!)

Yoshi-P ALREADY said that Leviathan Hard Mode will maybe take only a couple tries. I would honestly be surprised if the Levi weapons were any higher! And they're still higher than the other Primal weapons.

There's no reason why Leviathan's weapons should be stronger than the upgraded Relic weapons (ilvl100) when he said that Leviathan HM won't really be ALL that hard.

Idk. I think this was highly expected.


Also, lol at this, but you think that people upon reaching level 50 can just unlock Leviathan by doing the one quest? No. You have to do the story quests. He's part of the story. So you still have to do the ENTIRE 2.0 quest line and the 2.1 questline.

The funny thing about this post... Is that I read that these new weapons drop from Leviathan extreme mode... and guess what... You can't do Leviathan extreme mode unless you have beaten Ifrit extreme... Ohhh!!!!! And... I think you can't fight Hard mode Leviathan until you have beaten pretty much the whole storyline leading up to the last one which is the Leviathan fight which is also needed to fight the extreme mode Leviathan... So now you are posed with a difficult option...

Rush through maybe a great story just to be first people to fight Leviathan and say "Yayyyyy we did it first," and then return to the threads talking about how there's not much to do? Or... You can enjoy the storyline, and all the other offers the patch has, and help your free company mates gear up, and beat any extremes they haven't beat, while having fun at a reasonable pace...

I'm interested... Which one will you choose?

The people complaining about gear becoming obsolete are mostly all casual players who haven't done most of the content to begin with.

I'd be willing to bet that very few people from BG or any other world class Free Company are upset that they now have something new to work towards. Sure, their old gear is "obsolete" now, because they're getting something better in the process. And who doesn't like getting better gear?
