Ive only been kicked once from a df group doing Cutter's Cry. I was on whm at the first boss trying to kite the adds. The tank would take half of them and i ended up dying because the other half were on me and i would stop to try and toss a cure to him. Eventually i ended up dead, two attempts and one of the dps declared "heal your horrible" *insert black loading screen here*. queued up again for CC with my gf tanking and didnt have any issues because she didnt try and tank some of the adds.
Even when I was being yelled at and hated on in Halatali, they didn't kick me. Though that party probably waited forever for a tank they figured better stick with me than find another.
I know of one time where a party in CT tried to kick me, but the vote did not pass. Most of the group was made up of my FC mates, so they all voted no - I had disconnected because my cat knocked my PS3 over and unplugged it. I was gone less than 5 minutes, but the one person tried to kick me immediately when I went offline. I was using Teamspeak on my laptop when it happened, so I told everyone what was going on and that I would be back as soon as I could.
But no, I have never actually been kicked.
Who necro'd this thread?
Can we vote kick them?
I wish I could say I haven't, but it happened once.
I was doing Garuda HM for my SCH relic, everything went fine until the second phase when she summons those two minions, both minions were facing the whole party and me and the other healer (who was above i90) couldn't keep up with all the dmg DPS were getting, so we wiped. One of the DPS said he wasn't getting healed (when he was the one I was healing the most, he was eating more dmg than anyone else) the other healer argues back but we end up trying again, then we wipe again exactly at the same part, followed by another argument between the healer (defending both of us) and two dps + mt blaming us, next thing I know I'm back to open world, without saying a single word in chat other than the initial "hello".
So then took a break to understand what happened, then proceeded to report them, a GM sent me a /tell about 3 hours later and we chatted about it, I assume they got a sort of warning after that.
After I told a friend what happened he tells me that tanks were supposed to keep the adds from facing the DPS, we tried it again with him as one of the tanks and it went perfectly fine.
I've never been kicked, and I've only had vote kicks initiated against me on two occasions - that I found out about at least.
First time was when CT first came out, I zoned in in a bikini. I had switched back to my regular gear before the first pull, but the guy harassed me through the entire dungeon claiming I wasn't even fighting, and got his friends keep initiating vote kicks against me. Eventually someone put a vote kick against him and he got ejected - right before behemoth.
The second time, I was leading a T5 learning party and we had to DF 2 players. One of them started a vote kick against me while I was explaining the fight, which was quite surprising when one of the other players told me about it.
A troll tried to kick me once, my guess is because I pointed out that they were not doing a very good rotation~ (I main DRG~ and they were a LNC in Crystal Town, I noticed during Atomos, as that part is when a lot of groups fall apart~ I just wanted to make sure everyone understood what needed to be done.) I just asked if they knew their rotation, and I wanted to help them out~ They never said a word to me. Later on, during Behemoth, the rest of the people in my team told me the troll had tried to kick me a few times during the run, and finally kicked them when things got bad during the fight.
I've never been kicked from anything. Even when I've done bad during a run. I think so long as you're honest and communicate, most people are willing to work with you.
Edit: Ha, after reading the post above, I can't help but laugh at the similar situations~ That's CT for ya.
I remember a time I was kicked. Was doing haukke hm for the first time. My blm dps was not that great at the time. On last boss, my damage was not killing the adds quit enough and we wiped twice.
I got kicked after that for being a poor dps. My dps is so much better now though, havn't been kicked in months :)
Sux though when I get paired with around an ilvl 50 pld as an i96 blm, cause I haft to be really be carefull on my damage output now.
After months of just focusing on blm I've pretty much masterd that class. Practice makes perfect ya :)
Why yes, yes i did. And after the first wipe because of it i politely reminded them that i would kite everything. I have a lot of patience for people and i have no problem helping. After the second wipe (they did the same thing regardless of what i said) i got das boot.
I’ve never been kicked out of the party, but I’m not going to deny that i’ve been expecting a kick quite a few times. Not because i’m a rude person, far from it. I’m always nice, respectful and patient with others in the dungeon. I don’t care if we wipe a few times in a dungeon. I always try to help them out in clearing the dungeon.
But, i’m only a Miqo’te and i too make mistakes every once and a while (or i just can’t keep up with the rest of the party). I’m not a fabulous tank, just average. I tend to struggle with larger groups of mobs and speed runs. If several mobs escape my grasp and ends up killing a one or more members or when i’m not pulling fast enough for the others, i would “fear” a kick is on its way towards me. The same applies when i’m healing and my cure is just a fraction too late, resulting in a death. Or when i’m a DPS and we get wiped due to a lack of DPS in an enrage/heart phase.
There are times that i can’t quite enjoy running content with a pick-up group, since i don’t know them and visaversa, so you never know what to expect (even if you communicate with them). Everyone plays differently in the end.
I've been kicked twice. Once in CT when someone said "____" is afk and vote kick, but they selected me instead and nobody must have looked who they were voting for :(
And once in Stone Vigil for needing on a weapon I actually needed, and won against another brd in the group and their friend wasn't happy. Cheeky bastards waited until I cleared all the trash up to the next boss too lol
I'm probably one of the least experienced players in the game and, I'd have to say, I've never gotten kicked. I've seen a tank have to leave because he refused to slow down on his pulls (The WHM could not keep up with the dmg he was taking--plus he wasn't even trying to avoid AoEs), but I've never kicked anyone or been kicked. I'm sure I'll get mine some day, but it hasn't happened yet lol then again, I tend to run with friends from my FC, so maybe that's factoring in.
