48+ hours without been able to play.... its not a free service!
Ok guys, this is what i found out with my friends here, and this is what we doing.
1. Download and install a VPN (like private tunnel, bear tunnel, openVPN). If u use openVPN u will have to find a free VPN server. You can some free servers here at VPNBOOK.
2. Connect to the vnp server.
3. Once connecte to the vpn serv, now login to the game until the blue screen just before the screen where select you character. (btw probably it will pop a message that your account has been blocked for suspicius activities, etc etc, you will get an email from SE that will let u change you password, you gonna have to do it).
4. On the blue screen, just do alt + tab and disconnect from the VPN that way u will use you own connection and not the vpn. (and seriusly playing using a vpn totally sux).
The only bad thing about this is that you have to do it every time you want to login.

Yo creo que el problema viene de SE pero afecta directamente solo a los usuarios de CANTV (en el caso de Venezuela) The lodestone por ejemplo abre con Movistar y con Digitel pero no con CANTV/Movilnet.
wondering if this isn't the old region locking problem creeping back into play. Can you guys even buy Crysta down there?
If not... it could be SE's usual problem of getting spooked over potential Virtual Property law issues. Wouldn't be the first time an entire region suddenly found themselves unable to pay and/or play one of their games because of that BS.
Don't think its the region block.. I can buy Crysta and I can also access the Lodestone on CANTV/Movilnet *sigh*
Still not able to conect through launcher, having a lot of issues with playing the game without an answer from SE
Creo que esta es la mejor "solución" hasta ahora y en parte me ayudo a resolver el problema, ayer jugué todo el día sin necesidad de vpn pero hoy volvió a aparecer el mimo error de porqueria. Me conecté con Movistar y el juego entra pero la velocidad es muuy lamentable así que una vez logueado y en el juego, desconecté el modem y le metí la línea Movilnet, el juego obviamente se desconectó pero lo bueno es que no manda de nuevo al launcher si no a la pantalla del título, una vez ahí ya no hay dramas para volver a conectarse sea la compañia que sea.
Conclusión: El problema está en el launcher. Esperemos que la gente SE dé alguna respuesta pero no creo que sea casualidad que esto suceda justamente después de una actualización.
I have no idea if this is related, but I'm desperate. I can't play at all either, because the launcher is completely blacked out after I receive a pop-up saying 'an error has occurred in the script on this page'.

Microsoft and their weird patterns! After I made IE my default browser, my client was able to load.
Hummmmm hey this happens to me too, but i fixed it.
I was playing and my router disconnected. When i got it back, the browser all black and giving me that error.
I read you all but i try one thing, disconnect router and waited 20sec and restarted my PC and boom back to normal :D
i had this problem awhile ago.. what i did was i deleted the final fantasy folder in my documents... then the launcher started again as if it was my first time to use it... but it worked!
problem now is i cant get online... eror 90000 keep popping up saying i have lost my connection to the server... maybe its congested? i can play as far as the character selection screen... :(

1)Perform a connectivity test on your PlayStation 3
Test to see whether your PlayStation 3 is properly connected to the network.
From the home menu, select "Settings" > "Network Settings" > "Internet Connectivity Test" to perform the test.
2)Perform a system update on your PlayStation 3
Perform the most recent system update and then try a version update for "FFXIV: ARR"
The update can be performed from the home menu by selecting [Settings] > [System Update] > [Update via Internet]
3)Restart communication equipment
Turn off the power of your communication equipment for 30 minutes to an hour.
Unnecessary data accumulated on the equipment will be initialized, possibly allowing for smoother transmission.
4)Update firmware of communication equipment

*Consult with the help manual when updating firmware. Also, even if your firmware is up to date, rewriting it may improve the situation.
5)Check security services of your internet provider

Please confirm that these security services permit online gaming.
6)Remove routers
In order to diagnose the issue, remove routers and hubs temporarily.
*This may change your connection to a broadband connection. Please consult with your provider for connection settings.
7)Check router settings
Check the settings of security functions (such as SPI) for your router.
Also, use a port that can be used for the game.
Basicamente lo q dicen es q es culpa de nuestro router o isp, pero ya aqui se visto que no es asi.
I could update the launcher what i did was: reboot all my devices and conect directly my PS3 to modem then i could log in and update launcher. later play for about 2 hours then lag, connection with server lost (error 9000), connection with server lost (error 2002) and lately Connection with server lost (error 10105) i couldnt play again. Of course this has not to do with SE.
I am now abble to log in, cant really say something i did fixed it, sionce the things i posted from support i did them every single day till today.
Genial!! Realmente no tengo ni idea de que esté causando el problema, un rato sirve otro rato no, en fin, al menos en mi caso no he dejado de jugar.
Otra prueba que pueden hacer los que no les funciona lo mencionado anteriormente es conectarse y en el momento que les da el error apagar el modem pero sin salirse del juego, lo vuelven a encender y le dan "Ok" al mensaje del error, si tienen suerte el juego volverá a hacer la conexión sin problemas, lo intente y a la segunda vez me funcionó puede ser casualidad pero nada pierden con probar.
Venezuela here too, the problem seems to be only affecting those who use CANTV as their ISP. It's a nationwide block due to the political crisis atm. Users who use other ISPs are not receiving this issue, I don't think Square Enix can do anything about that. The only way to fix this is to connect to the game using a VPN or a proxy server.
Venezuela aqui tambien, parece ser que el mamaguevo de Maduro ha bloqueado la pagina HTTPS de FFXIV, y por eso no podemos entrar, los que tengang CANTV van a tener que conseguirse un VPN or algo para jugar. Que cagada de pais vale.
Yo estoy usando esto:
1.- Sigo los pasos de la siguiente pagina para crear el vpn http://www.vpnbook.com/howto/.
2.- Despues q logeo mi char, desconeto el vpn, y vas te va dar 90k error.
3.- Esperas 3 min, y vuelves a escoger tu pj y entras normalmente, y guala puedes jugar tranquilamente.
El error esta en el servidor de https de la pantalla de login.
Ya se resolvio el problema, tanto lenar, vyse y yo pudimos abrir el launcher sin problemas.
BTW les recuerdo a los que no vieron, y si tienen BBM, el pin del canal para FFXIV Vzla, es C0044FEC3, para los que esten interesados en hablar, en vista que no hay linkshell entre servers.
