I don't hate it. In fact, I started as one. But I wasn't happy with the character movements. The animations felt clunky to me. The final straw was when I got my unicorn mount and was riding side saddle. Just couldn't take it anymore.

I have both one male and female elezen in my character rooster. I just can't get me to play them as main because of the proportions SE gave to them... I just wish they'd fix the head/neck. I've been main Elvaan for five years on FFXI, and even with these new graphics I can't stop thinking my XI elvaan looks so much better than my XIV elezen >.<

I wish I could side-saddle as Miqo'te instead <_<; the straddling stance is all wrong ('wrong' as in, incorrect in terms of position. Any other riding teacher/horse trainer will agree with me on this), and looks like my character never rode anything before in her life. When galloping, it always looks like she/he is about to fall over...

I started as a Lalafell, but when I was having trouble with Titan HM, I felt I needed more DPS. Sure, the difference between each race is so tiny, I just felt I needed to squeeze all the DPS I could get.

Personally, I felt that Elezens are quite minimum with their emotions. Almost emotionless, but there are a few sparks here and there.

Apparently, I'm the only Elezen Bard in my FC. So, you might be right on the race rarity.

I saw almost no elezens during the beta phases (when most were trying out miqo'tes), but have been pleasently surprised to have elezens on DF very often. Frenchies seem to really favour elezens as well. Maybe because the elezen NPC names are french? :D

And AiChyan, I'd do hug your elezen any day, omg. <3

Is Lalafell considered Elf ? We got sharp ears too.

Is it just me, or was there zero mention of us female Roegadyn?

Well, The first toon I created was Roe! But elezen just clicked with me more. My retainers are all Female Roes though!
I have to admit that I almost never ever encounter female Roes ingame :(

I absolutely love my Roegadyn :). They are SOooo rare ingame but the best looking ;).

I did create an Elezen as my main but found the character model a bit weird, so have used a potion to remodel my character to different one.

I personally do not like the look of their body shapes. I think they are way to tall and the female looks like the chest size of a male. Seems like she is big in the shoulders. If they were similar to the size and shape of Hyurs I would like their appearance more.

I am offended by this thread.

But really though on my server, Diabolos, I see every race every time I log in. There really isn't one I don't see more than the others. There's a ton of everything. Which is great!

Probably this is the only game. Where the "Elf" Race is Really Ugly.

The Human Midlander, Highlander, the cats and even the galkan girls look a lot more cute than the Elfs sadly.

The problem for me are their Necks, their stand motion and their bodies are VERY disproportionate =/.

Why do people keep saying only Elezen are disproportionate? Every single race in Eorzea but the Hyur has unrealistic proportions.

Eh? Miqo'te aren't disproportionate at all. Miqo'te and Hyur both have pretty normal human body types, they're just distinguished between being more full (Hyur) or more lean (Miqo'te). I know male Miqo'te proportions are practically identical to my own. I just don't have the whole crotch-thrust thing going on... well... maybe occasionally...

I'd agree that Elezen females look a little weird. It's the shoulders and the bust... something just seems off. However, I think Elezen males look great. Slightly long necks but it gives them character.

Also how dare you hate us lalafell OP! We are the best!

The Elder Scrolls series and Neverwinter would like to have a word with you. At least the ugliness of the Neverwinter elves is somewhat in keeping with the D&D lore/history. Elder Scrolls elves are bug-eyed freaks who walk like Guado (...but I still play as one >.>).

I don't hate Elezens just, I kinda always have a mental picture of bad players been an Elf like character. Chances are their char will be dark bluish skin, and pick the most look cool class whenever possible, if there is a ranger class, chances are they will dual wield and have a black panther pet.

But I am willing to pay good gil to watch fight those Xcloudxx clones.

O and their organs sell great. Lalafells love to make tonic soup to increase their sexual power keep them in jars and place in their living rooms

Personally I don't care for their body design. Similar to FFXI, they are much too lanky/gorilla-like. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.

Well even if in TES the elves are ugly they are still looking better than every other races ( except maybe Argonian or khajhit if you like cats or lizards )

I'm guessing you are in the twilight zone where roes run wild.

I don't hate any of the races, all of them have issues with how they look in my opinion.

Midlander male: Can look like a babyface teen, really annoying to see them (especially as tanks lol).
--- female: Their normal run animation... I hate how they swing their arms in a stereotypical "girly" fashion (reminds me of Vanille in XIII, just less eccentric, which is a good thing).

Highlander male: A bit too burly for my taste.
--- female: nothing really wrong here =p

Elezen male: As others stated, the way they run.
--- female: Shoulders look very broad. It just looks strange to me, especially when wearing tank armors with pauldrons. Also reminds me of some drawings I did in the past, where the proportions were off. Other than that I think they look fine ;D lol

Lala male: Head size compared to body. No complaints really, proportions make waaaay more sense than Tarutarus.
--- female: Same as male, one complaint I recall seeing in posts in the past was about their breast slider "not working"... lol.

Manthra: Rigormortis in hands, cat ears bug me. Standing stance is a bit weird as well (I realize I main a male miqo'te, kinda wish I stuck to my original midlander look).
Mithra: Dislike the shape of their heads, looks strange to me. Maybe it was an "ideal" shape or something, idk.

Tailless Galka: The upper body and lower body proportions bug me.
Female Roe: Some of the noses look strange, but otherwise no issues really. Though bust size can be ridiculous (goes for highlanders as well).

Elf in this game is ugly. that's why.

in other games, Elf looks like human, with long ears. in XIV they have long arms/legs and a corpse face.

LOL ESO so far is a good game but god, not only the elves all characters in ESO look Horrible, they look like Vikings, Caveman, with features very Rough.

I don't like their posture. In FFXI they had the most stylish attack animations. In this game, they're awkward and goofy.

Actually, if I had to pick one adjective to describe Elezen appearance/animations, it would be imperious. Others that come to mind are puritanical and prudish. They're the sort of people who always stand up straight and would never dream of putting their elbows on the table. I can see why some people find this unattractive, but I find it befitting the character I have in my head (I don't RP, but I still have an idea of who my character is and where she comes from).

Elezen got shafted on hairstyles. I believe there is only one that is actually long and untied? The best looking elezen in my opinion are Alisiae and Alphinaud. It's a shame you cannot come close to making an elezen as awesome as they look.

I don't hate the elves, but to be honest the character design based on facial is not as attractive to me compared to Hyur and Miqote.

Well if only they change the way elves look like to be the likes of Legolas and Arwen(or any other more attractive elven looks you can think of), I am so gonna pick elves XD.
