See that box building around a blue tower? That is the Maze.
See that tower in the middle? That is the Crystal Tower.
We have not even reached the first floor. So what are you talking about?
Whether the maze is or is not part of CT is a non issue, the real issue is all there is to enjoy is a measly 1 alliance raid.
If the content actually took close to 3 hours to complete that may satisfy me, it would then be akin to Dynamis. However, this raid is so short, its much more like Limbus, and leaves you thirsty for more but not in a good way.
Therefore:
1. I would expect not only multiple zones but also branching zones in the same tier. Branching zones would be easiest for duty finder however. By way of example, currently there are 3 paths you go through in order, left, right and top. Why not let us choose to start right or top and then have different bosses for that raid. The path we select first determines the bosses for that raid. That way we then have the same zone reused for 3 different raids with 3 different "sets" of bosses. That's a lot more content to eat through.
2. Another issue is that raids in ARR lack a "farming" aspect. As well as gear it would be enticing if the mobs dropped currencies used for various upgrades. That way when players get their equipment they still have a reason to come for the rest of the week.
3. Also, the "Labyrinth" didn't feel like somewhere one could possibly get lost even with their eyes closed. I was kinda hoping for a raid that is quite grand in scope say large like a field zone.
3 months for one day of content, they lock you out a week so it takes months to get all the loot. there pretty much no systems involved other then talk to NPC then kill boss and your finished.
i dont see how you can only make content for CT in 6 months, thats just plain slow. now i see why theres a one week lock out so you cant get all the gear before the next floor comes out.
looks to me the FFXI team is winning when it comes to how things are implemented theres a give and take, not just a give.
funny thing is i guess we only need to sub 4 times a year one month a season, thats all they allow us to play.
CT is way more fun than Coil, beginning with the silly lockouts making progress in Coil artificially slow but not limited to that. :x
That is why this is such a problem. Crystal Tower is a very good raid. I believe it is almost better or better than Dynamis in FFXI. Reason why is that it is ten times less laggy, every job has a role and no job is gimped in this raid, and everyone gets a chance to get a drop every week. Even if you have to do multi runs to get what you want, you will get something by the end of the week. This is why it is so disappointing that we have to wait 6 months for additional content in this dungeon.
I have to agree that to wait 6 months for new content for the CT is slow. Anyone who defends that is pretty much beyond logical discussion imo. Why would anyone want to defend this low turn around on a pay to play MMO. I could see if this was free to play....
And if the FFXIV team is determined to keep it at 6 months for an update to each raid, then release more than one level in a tower. No one wants to repeat the same instances for 6 months. No one, I don't even care if the defenders come in here saying they do, because most likely they aren't hitting up CT every week for multiple times.
