I haven't played Monk in a while, but I know Fists of Wind tooltip was wrong for a long time.

It was a nerf, yes, and a unjustified one at that, but it really wasn't that huge. The BfB nerf I believe is a 2.5% dps loss assuming you have maximum uptime on BfB, and IR I would guess to about another 1% loss (just a guess, I could be horribly wrong).

Like I said, we definitely didn't need a nerf, but with the SS/BL thing debunked, it's not like the sky is falling.

Bard was only nerfed in damage when using blood for blood and internal release. Since they give 10% each instead of 20% as before.

To those of you stating that any bard that doesn't use songs is a bad bard: You obviously have never played bard or are just completely playing your job the wrong way. I have played bard since it was introduced back in 1.0 and when you look at the game as a whole, there are very few times where MP or TP songs are actually needed. In long primal battles or coil for example, but never in dungeon runs like AK or WP etc. If you are. Mage that depends on these songs to get through a dungeon, then you need to learn to conserve MP better. The only useful song outside of those long battles is Foe Requiem because it helps you beat the dungeon faster. So please, stop making claims you obviously know nothing about

That's 100% correct. It's a support job.. but NO ONE playing bard supports the party. I've only ever seen 1 bard the whole time i've been playing refill MP.. and not even on a regular basis.. probably hit the button on accident and forgot about it.

All bards want to do is spam aoe and high powered moves on targets the tank isn't even hitting even with marks.. Never met a good bard.. ever. Maybe this nerf will bring your head out of the clouds and help you realize what you should be doing.

Actually people tell me not to cast songs unless a mage is low on MP. Most people actually want me to keep dealing damage and get mad if I cast a song when it is not needed because they don't like the damage reduction I suffer.

Balancing the game due to bad players grouping up and doing it wrong is doing it wrong :(

I see a lot of bad bards that play ballad when not needed. All they're doing is hurting the overall group dps.

Also, unless it was changed in 2.1, foe requiem only helps black mages and white mages (holy). Playing req any other time does nothing.

BLM, WHM (all spells), SMN (all spells), and therefor also SCH (all spells). That's as of 2.0.

working as intended, keep in mind bard is a support class not a dps class.

Ugh. I've come to realize that this misconception will NEVER die. It is just too ingrained in people, apparently.
One more time though: THERE ARE NO PURE SUPPORT CLASSES IN FFXIV. This game isnt built that way.
I know you're used to "Bard = support" on so many other games, and it SEEMS that way at first when you see Bards have songs that give MP/TP Regen, but I assure you they are still a DPS CLASS.

There isn't even a "Bard" damage nerf. It's a cross class skill nerf.

Yeah they didnt really hit our dps very hard. Mainly just our burst potential.

They DID nerf our Support capabilities though, by taking away our 10% dmg reduction and giving it to Warriors.
Why did they nerf our Support? Because we are a DPS CLASS, and we had a bit too many "support" puzzle pieces. (I just wish they'd make RoD do something useful)

Well bad players will continue to cry, I guess.

There is nothing standing there so why You nerfed Bard without saying to us.
Two bards 82+ GS you can´t make :
Coil turn 4 without problems Ex Modes And HM dungeons and Pharao sirius to you lake on dps for example making 750 dmg before nerf and now it is by 542 and support skills are bad to so how you be possible to play bard now in dungeons ?
And BLM can use the Bard skill to make 20% more dmg it is really a joke all other cross classes can use bard stuff fully and bard can´t use other cross class fully can´t think many players will take bards to Raids or other stuff because of this.
