rofl. And corsairs in FFXI? You know, SE's other MMO. I'll just give you a pass and assume you didn't play XI. They were pirates. Pirates gamble. Hence the cards.

Gunner
Black Mage
Blue Mage
:)
Bard
Beastmaster
Viking
From BST it seems like some of us never wanna party again with some people HAHA jk. I want beast master too, but I'd like it to be useful in a party.
Summoner
Time Mage
Bard
(Thought I think ALL these should be added. =p The more the merrier. These are just ones I would like to play.)
Samurai
Dark Knight
Black Mage
beastmaster
dark knight
dancer
Blue Mage (or some other variant of a spellsword)
Beastmaster
Any other party healer class
I choose this becouse i Almost 100% sure pld and mnk will come soon.
But for next:
1• Ninja
2• Assassin
3• Summoner
Since dragoon is already coming...
1. Bluemage
2. Beastmaster
3. Summoner
Ravager
Saboteur
Synergist
Mystic Knight
Red Mage
Blue Mage
also, shouldn't mystic knight be under the hybrid classes
Black mage, time mage, dancer, summoner
Red Mage, Blue Mage, Machinist
(2x Handgun-) Shooter *~*
GunBlader (where you can shoot as well) \ 0 /
double-handed Swordsman/woman
Honestly I'd like:
Squire (Accumulate ftw!)
Judge (Chicks dig the armor)
Retired Blitzball Player (Hey it works for Jecht and Wakka)
But I'll go along with:
Beastmaster
Dancer
Blue Mage
Samurai/Parivir. And make them an actual damage dealing sword class instead of the tank business Gladiators currently are.
Summoner
Samurai
Mechanist
Blue Mage
Dragoon
Scholar
What's up with people and their obsession with summoning? As for me: Assassin, Thief, Ninja. I love stealth classes.
Viking, templer knight and Royal knight ^_^
As it stands now it doesn't really matter what classes are implemented because the system we have now allows you to level every class and have access to all abilities, ultimately making every character the same.
Ninja(Preferrebly as a DD this time instead of a tank)
Summoner
Dragoon
Beastmaster,Blue mage, necromancer
I would like to see Alchemist get some kind of combat ability. However if I were to pick anything else I would like to see Beastmaster, Ninja, Red Mage
Summoner
Blue Mage
Dark Knight
:D
I'll add +1 to WHM RDM BLM SMN and DRG!!!
Dark Knight, Dragoon and Gunner! (Musketeer) ^^
Knights with breaks(debuffs) and wielding a greatsword.
Wing Chun Master - Aka Kung Fu specialist with kicks and strikes and awesome chi moves.
other than that
Mascott
Gun Mage
Mascott
Beserker
So extremely disheartening reading this thread. So many here just want FFXI all over again. Like really? He asked for three top jobs you want and all you can think of is three jobs you played in FFXI? I wish he had said "at least one job not present in XI", that way maybe Yoshi wouldn't be as tempted into following your lead. Seriously if all you want is XI again, just go back and play XI (I don't really mean that of course, but that is my first reaction when I see people asking for "BLU, SMN, SAM hell yeah!!!" as their three jobs they want). I mean I don't mind having some XI jobs, I loved XI and several jobs there, but this is a new game. We are already stuck with the same old races, same old "three nations" vs the beastmen and battle mechanics leaning more and more towards the XI system etc. etc.
SE has a chance to be more creative and seriously I think they need to be for this game to have any chance of being around in the longrun, I really hope they see that and I hope they use the creativity that I know they have even though they have yet to show it with XIV. This of course applies to all aspects of the game, not just jobs even though that is a big part of it imo.
Personally hoping for Time mage, Mechanic (Some type of job that utilizes maybe mech armor or equipment that is a little more steampunk-esque), Chocobo Knight.
First of all, what's wrong with asking for something that works and people like? Second what's wrong with asking for something that SE knows, works, and is successful enough to keep one mmo still running? FFXI hasn't died yet.
Third they tried creating something new and different, lots of people didn't like it and quit. Does that not say something about the game?
There's no problem with asking for something different but why not get both? I don't think that's unreasonable. There's no reason there can't be multiple jobs available or for that matter any similar feature ie auction house, invite flag, magic, weapons, etc
Nothing wrong with asking for a little bit of that, the problem is when most of what is coming is already things that come from XI, and you ask for more and ONLY that. Nothing wrong with asking for something SE knows works either, I just wish people would have some imagination and willingness to evolve instead of always staying with "what works" or actually, "what worked" but might not even work here.
Tried creating something new and different? Lol, I don't know what to say if you consider XIV at launch a try at anything... it was the most half-assed, unfinished, unpolished attempt at a game I've ever seen. SE can do better, a lot better. XIV's failure was not all about it being something new and different that didn't work, it was about a game that was so bad in every aspect that even if it had autoattack and all the old jobs from XI it would still have failed miserably. SE didn't listen to anyone and launched 2 years too early, old or new mechanics it would still have been the same imo.
I am not saying there is a problem asking for some of the old and some of the new, not at all, but right now so many aspects of the game are turning towards XI for inspiration and still people are asking for more. We are just going to end up with a XI-2 instead of XIV. THAT is my issue with this.
I am not asking for the wheel to be reinvented, they don't have to come up with an alternative to the AH, invite flag etc. There are some basic things that are so fundamental that of course they can be used, I don't mind that. I don't even mind using some of the old jobs, which I mentioned in my previous post. I just wish that when the playerbase gets to wish for whatever jobs it wants, it would ask for more and not actually just do what SE seems to be doing... going back to "what works".
If not even the playerbase dreams of more, new and better things (Not saying all new things are better than old), how can we expect SE to ever want to, or even have the courage to try to give it to us?
Also, of course this is just how I feel, there is no right or wrong here. We all like different things and I just had to post how I feel so at least if SE reads this they know that there are people out there like me too, not only the other side.
I'd really rather not see any more classes, but rather improve the way classes intermix. Currently we can pull any ability from any class as long as it doesn't require a class-specific weapon, and those abilities when used in other classes are typically mildly disadvantaged (lower damage, longer cooldowns, etc), all to make our ultimate action bar in a given (single) class.
If there should be a Dark Knight, it should be by taking the Umbral abilities of a thaumaturge and mixing them with a Lancer or Marauder and a Gladiator. In the end, its the synergy between classes that will matter most.
I would like to some day see guns and crossbows worked into the game, but that may at the very least require a renaming of the Archer class, so it's closer to a last priority. Right now I just like the idea being able to Featherfoot proc and automatic evasion, counter with Haymaker, block an attack with my shield, counter with Phalanx, have my Conjurer ranks improve my Red Lotus attack, Puncture through two enemies aligned at close range, and finish them off with a Skewer (where Lancer ranks increases all melee piercing special attack damage). Something like that.
As far as the different colors of Mages go, that seems like it could be done with simple (locked) Abilities and a more significant elemental affinity system. Let's say there's a Thaumaturge ability called "Elemental Conceptualization" or "Mind of the World" that by whatever special procedure allows you to benefit types of spell effects (reversals [Blue-Water], healing [White-Astral], fiery damage-over-time and sacrificial effects [Red-Fire]) etc.
- Earth / Water - Grey Mage
- Umbral / Fire or Lightning - Black Mage
- Earth / Wind - Brown Mage
- *List goes on, theoretically*
Of course us Time mages don't get a lot of love -_-
Time Mages
Geomancers
Templar (that tactics one with support and spear attacks)
Dark Knight
I personally don't care what sort of "jobs" they bring (nor from which FF title) as long as it removes the melting pot feeling of the current roles that classes are able to fulfill.
Yes, I want a tank to hit like a pussy, but to be able to take a hit like similar to a steel wall at the end of a firing range; I want a DD to be somewhat easily killed by stuff if they're not paying attention, but to be able to demolish shit like a semi truck does to an unfortunate deer on the interstate at 80 MPH; I want the healer to die like a lil bytch, but to also be able to keep the tank and everyone else alive so long as they are playing the role well and don't have their head up their a$zs... etc. etc.
I want roles - and abilities that make fulfilling those roles possible ONLY IF people correctly utilize those abilities (that is, I don't want a 1,2,3-key spam role...). I don't want this melting-pot myriad of "look I can tank with this stick!", or "look I can heal with this sword!"... It sounds like Yoshi and the dev teams are well on their way to delivering some good stuff to help alleviate this, which is awesome news.
Go play Pretty Princess Wonderland with the Hello Kitty expansion if you want to play dressup and do the same thing as everyone else...
Go Twins!
my 3 would be:
Beastmaster
Paladin
Ninja
redmage
summoner
dark knight
BLUE MAGE
NECROMANCER
DARK KNIGHT
Really need a Dual-wield job!
Job system and job roles in the party was near perfect in 11
