Less than 24 hours. Only did DF pugs. Did 2 or 3 late at night before going to bed, then beat him on the 3rd attempt in the morning. Queued up with JP only.

About 20 attempts or so, total time spent in the instance was about 2 hours. I never had major issues with him, others did.
5 tries with a pug, took less than a hour.
2 weeks before I saw a 200k run but only 175k if I survived so I took it and survived the encounter...Night and Day with a good party.
I did half a dozen pug groups to learn the fight. Then joined pre-mades, with which I cleared it with my forth group. Total time was about a week.
In total hours, over 10 hours but I got it done.. Haha, I had to be a bit mean.. and kick people who couldn't even dodge.. or even know Titan HM. I would usually teach people how to do it but after failing for so much, I didn't have the patience nor do I believe other people do too. Kind of sucks.
i had so many fail parties.. it took me a few runs into p5 to get the pattern down myself (but that was probably over 30 wipes cos alot of parties cant kill the heart) after i got my part down i just had to wait for a good party who all had their part down.. that was about 70 wipes later lol..
now my FC helps people with it, we 1st/2nd time him and kill the heart with 4dps without an LB..
just takes practise
lol problem with this is people now select all Language when they que to make the time faster. Every-time I select J only, I still get none Japanese people. But if you get lucky JP group, it almost a Garantee win, Japanese people they prepare more for the fight and only que when ready. NA is complete opposite, I seen a lot of people que just to practice or to be carry. I don't mind this, but they show up in low level gears.
2 weeks and still counting, though I havn't been pushing it actively, only done maybe a dozen sessions in that time.
Problem i have in ALL my runs. Is the DPS eating bombs and landslides in the final phase, quickly whittling down our DPS to nothing. Most runs end in just the healers and a tank
10 hours total from first try to first win. Would have been significantly shorter if I hadn't needed so much time to understand how to evade bombs and landslides after heart, and as the only WHM I kept wiping my group for a long time because of it. :o It was worth spending that time though, now our FC is very comfortable with the fight and our latest Titan with new people went down on 5th try.
Oh and as a WHM it doesn't really make a difference if the tank is WAR or PLD. As long as the tank is reasonably geared and has enough HP (in our FC we ask tanks to have at least 5k HP for this fight) it doesn't matter. The healers just have to know when the MB is coming and make sure the tank is topped up, with some tanks I've used stoneskin before every MB. Of course a PLD can need a bit less heals, but WAR doesn't make the fight significantly harder.
First Relic; I joined random Mor Dhona parties. 6 days, 45k in repairs, 150k in food and about 200+ tries. I finally got in a group that wanted to stick it through. 4 and a half hours later we downed him, but it was also the tanks birthday and we weren't giving up. That was on my SMN.
On my Pld, took one group with some friends. All my gear was AK/DL chest/White, I did buy some decent food to get my HP up to 4900. Took us a couple hour scause we had people who didn't know the fight and our healer died constantly from Plumes and Landslides.
I had Chuck Norris in my party. He died instantly....
Combination of DF, PUG and FC - finally did it with my FC at about the 80th attempt.
When I did it legit back in early September, it took around 6 hours straight. Most of which was just weeding out those who kept wiping us over and over again without improving (bad dps, lag, unable to dodge) and the finding replacements.
A few days prior to that, I probably had a couple hours worth of practice from PUGs and DF PUGs which often disbanded very quickly when they had survivability issues post-heart, which they could not defeat reliably enough. This allowed me to learn the fights well enough to improve my own skills.
Titan is such that you really cannot rely on following the movements of others if you want to survive. The combination of the rather slow positional update frequency, delayed onscreen display of others moment, run speed, and reaction speed is often greater than the allowed time for the server to register your arrival at a safe location. Personal skill and experience to react quickly to Titan abilities rather than movement of others is basically required.
Well, to answer that, I think there are a few things I can point out...
1 - I am, to my very core, a tank and love doing that job.
2 - I'm also leveling for white mage right now because I love the challenge that comes with healing.
3 - I regularly queue up for Titan in DF to potentially help parties by being a stacked paladin with relic+1.
So, with all that, I think the answer is a pretty definitive yes.
We had 3 healers in our FC group, we all wanted relics ^^. It took us 3 hours to get it down, but now I can do that dance in my sleep.
