CT was probably the key here for most peoples boredom.
It's a shame it was not released in launch. Here's hoping that it was just truly overtuned to near impossible to play. I'll just simply not sub until then, so yeah 1 month I guess. Not a big deal, if they release it much later, I won't be back until 2.1 All there is to say.
Kudos to the rest of you who are sticking it out repeating the same crap for months on end.

Yoshida understands about the players that are unsubbing and plans to win them back with the coming patches. At least that's what I got from reading the translation of the live letter.

You clearly have not played many MMOs.

I can list 4 recent ones that had 4x the amount of things to do for level capped players at launch than FF 14.

Even that other big MMO everyone says had less actually had way more things to do in vanilla.

It's not exactly forcing them to rush, I think it's more like: hey, HIRE more people and get updates out a bit faster.

GW2, a totally b2p game can ship out content every 2 weeks...yet one that charges me 20 bucks a month takes 3+ months?

In all honesty what is SE to do? If they slow the content down to where it lasts longer the masses complain that it takes too long to level. When they speed it up the masses complain that they are bored. They lose either way, and it's a no win scenario.

The truth be told, the real problem here is there are a lot of people who play MMORPGs who really shouldn't be playing them. They have turned what used to be a meaningful experience into a what amounts to social media with a mindless mini game attached to it. No offense, but I wish most of you would stick to Facebook or play cooperative games online. Not raid the MMORPG market with your dollars and ruin the genere.

I miss the days of old when leveling up was actually something that took experience and skill to accomplish. When multi-player mechanics were actually at the core of the gameplay. Not this single-player button-mashing garbage where I can run around spamming bio and level to 50 in less than a week.

Plus they are not even adding housing so that puts it at mid 2014...i'm not going to last that long without housing either. I will be going to eqnext. Sorry.

You can all presume the patch will or won't be here in November, but all you are doing is speculating. Just because there will be a discussion about future content does not mean that content will not already be released nor does it imply that the content delivery is off schedule from prior statements. That being said, if something comes up which prevents content release, let it be addressed. I would rather wait another month for quality content than have unstable/unbalanced/unfinished content delivered right now. I guess that is the difference between me and the CoD generation of gamers. If you need instant gratification, MMORPG games aren't the genre for you.

You people think that if they don't release content ASAP that SE will lose all their subs. This simply is not true and if you require evidence of this, look no further than FFXI. It took SE a full year and a half after release to get all their vanilla content in line and most of the major bugs dealt with. Did it kill their subscription base? No. The game ran strong for over a freakin decade. So while your ADHD addled brain attempts to fomulate the next ill-conceived self-centered notion about what will and what will not change the course of this title, try considering that your point of view does not encompass everyone elses. It might also be helpful to consider that you likely have 0 real-world experience or knowledge regarding what it takes to develop or manage an online-based gaming title, especially one based on subscription service.

I, for one, am glad I am out of the online gaming industry. Having to read these kinds of threads is worse than meetings with the sales teams.
