You should probably take a deep breath before ranting. Especially since you're a warrior who has not completed the fight in question. Heck, you haven't even bothered to get provoke before jumping into HM primals...

I'm really starting to resort to buying Titan. I've failed 30 times already..every party I've been in always has 1 person that always dies, and most of the dps are usually with <4 Darklights.

Its not that, getting 8 people to coordinate perfectly on a boss like that is time consuming and frustrating. Past challenge, its luck on getting people who are good team mates, and wont quit on you. I bought a titan clear because I could not get a group that would stay past the first wipe. I got so frustrated and just bought a run.

I dont really see the issue here. I think your FC was foolish not to charge for runs.

You realize at a time in FFXI, Artifact Weapons were of the best available... Right? They weren't as hard as Relics in FFXIV are now, But they weren't a cake walk when they were introduced. These, while hold true in power to Relics at the current time, Will eventually be eclipsed (unless upgraded further or we just stop progressing up the I.lv ladder).

Its literally 1 month into the game, these weapons will look like sh*t in a couple years, Just like AF Weapons did in FFXI. and call me Crazy, but, Allagan Weapons offer the same stats as +1 Relics, Except with maybe a separate Fourth Stat, correct? In some cases a better fourth stat.

Really Allagan weapons seem harder to obtain than Relic+1's to me but thats just an off thought.

after spending like 10ish hours failing on titan hm, decided to just pay for it
i shouted in mordhona that i was willing to pay 200k, in about half an hour i got a tell and the rest is history
funny thing is, i can farm 200k in just 6 runs (phil tomes mats cost average 40k in ultros), so it's super worth the time and effort saved

now that i have relic+1, farming cm/prae will take even less time, so in my view it's a really good return on my investment

And what do you plan on doing with that relic+1, keep running cm/prae? (I run those in spiritbond gear for the materia).

Wat? The idea of an MMO is to get the best armor/weapons. What you do with them is always as pointless as the whole endeavor. I imagine he'll eventually gear up to tackle Bahamut's Coil like everyone else plans to do when they're adequately geared.

Thanks for the tip. I guess I'll just do that..

The problem is these players who can't kill Titan will go on to apply for Coil raiding guilds and nobody will know that they're actually incompetent.

The point is, that if organizing a group of 8 people to kill Titan is too much for these people buying a run, then do you honestly think they will stand a chance in coils? Chances are any of them that make it past turn 1 will again, be carried by another FC that's already farming the lower turns.

Stop generalizing. 75% of people that bought Titan knows the fight and can dodge perfectly, but its very difficult to find a well-geared, skilled, and organized group.
People don't wanna waste 100 hours in this boss.

people buying titan runs need to get the gil from somewhere, thats after they have used an amount on pre-relic weapons and materia, so no, the main quest doesnt count into this calculation. The gil would have to come from crafting, gathering, or grinding tomes. But if you do these tedious tasks, then im pretty sure youre not gonna use your well-earned gil on one measly titan run.

Why do we have rmt in this game?
Because people need gil to buy titan runs.

Why do people sell titan runs?
Because people buy them.


Now do you see the problem? Its not the titan run itself, its the people that buys them.

Selling titan runs is just a big fat "We Help RMT"... if you don't know that then I hope they start banning for it.

Wished I had that kind of cash, I'd buy myself a better weapon so people won't bitch and whine about it so I can actually do the fights in peace instead of being carried just so I can get my hands on my relic and +1 it so I can jump around town like some retard acting like he's achieved everything. +1 is pretty god damned easy to get.

Nothing can be done about selling Titan runs. Really, nothing.

The main thing it does, besides filling the coffers of some FCs and creating a reason for people to use gil farmers, is push people through a skill hurdle. Now we will have player who couldn't support themselves through content asking to get in coil runs. I love this actually. See, SE gave us content that was hard and took effort to clear... so people pay people to get them through it.

Guess this is leak over from Free to Play game. "I can't beat something, where is my credit card!?!?"

I'll look down on any one that buys a titan run or relic run. They let others fight the battles they could not handle. I'm not even an elitist or hardcore, plus I haven't even beat titan yet. Only got him to 5%.

I can't fathom why play a game, then pay someone for a win. For me, building groups, learning fights, and building kinship through a common struggle is why I play MMOs. From me to pay for a win is to defeat the reason I play this game.

I know the feeling I will get from beating Titan will be sweet. I failed about 8 titan runs tonight. The failures only made me want it more. I also have found some great raiders through my efforts. I've invited them to my linkshell and we plan to try again later. I will earn a titan kill... not my gil. I will be a better player for it too.

i think most of the titan buyers are solo player, who have no LS/FC/friends whatsoever
i understand their struggle, doing titan hm with random DF pugs is almost impossible, but still, it's not impossible
if they're not willing to find LS/FC/friends, they'll have to deal with random DF pugs

The only good news here is that with the increasing number of people offering it, the price people are wlling to pay is going down. Eventually it won't be worth doing anymore and things will return to as they were before.

No! they are. Because I will not find people to do Titan with for a free run ^^;

I personally don't care if people buy their last step to relic or not
As DF it is probably impossible so you need to bother your LS/FC to take you there anyway, and since there is nothing for most member to have in re-doing Titan, you can be a liability for 7 other people taking you there
So I can get behind giving people money to help you go through it

But the big problem is that we currently have a lot of RMT issues that are affecting everybody and people who are desperate for a Titan kill could resort buying from this people and make the situation worst.
I would advise people to wait, they will probably lower Titan anyway or you can wait for the right timing when other new 50 members also need the kill and form a static team until you do it

You don't need Titan RIGHT NOW. So please do not buy from RMT!
If you want to buy your way through Titan, at least have the decency to farm your own money to buy it.
Don't make other people get their account suspended and money wiped because of RMT who buy/sell on the markets because of your laziness/selfishness

While I do have a LS my work schedule doesn't really work for prime time and I know its not anyone's fault but I often rely very heavily on DF as there isn't many people around when I can play. It's incredibly hard to get in a party with shouts I find although I am upfront that I've watched videos of the fight but I am new as I don't want the headache of listening to people complain. I guess I could be classed as casual compared to many who can play for hours on end but I still work hard for end game. I don't see my progress chances getting any better though it seems like each day that passes it just gets harder and harder to get stuff done. I know there is alot of people in my position and while I personally won't buy a win as I wanna do it myself but I can very much understand why people would. DF just doesn't work its like one loss and there goes the party its a mess sometimes.

7) Practice. If you realize you could be holding a group back due to not being able to dodge, thank them for the experience and gracefully leave. You WILL find another group to do it with and you WILL get better at it. Don't get discouraged.
8) Remember to have fun.

9) Perhaps this is just my own quirk, but it helped me quite a bit to turn the music off in Titan. I know many people enjoy it, but I personally found it rather jarring and it helped my concentration immensely during the fight to turn it off.

Here is a thought that most people don't think about. If you are watching the video to see how to do the fight...that is cheating also...just as bad as paying for a win if you want to go that route...you did nothing to beat it on your own except see exactly how to do it. True skill would be to go into the fight "FRESH" and learn the fight and how to do it on your own and then beat it because you gained experience and gained the skill to beat it on your own.
If you play the entire game with a strategy guide open...then why play it??? You are suppose to figure the game out on your own.



I can see both sides of this argument for sure.
1. Players should be a little more forgiving on fights and give people a "fair shake" on getting better before they want to ditch them.
2. I also see how wiping on a fight numerous times can get very frustrating...especially when it's one person always holding you back.
3. People that do not have a good FC or not one at all I can see buying fights because they have no other choice, but is everyone entitled to a RELIC...I don't think so...it really should be earned through skill alone and I am so glad that you build your RELIC as opposed to how the random Primal Weapons drop and is so unfair. Someone walking around with a RELIC should be a "GOOD" player...period!!!!
4. Now on the other hand if beating the primals and getting relic is necessary for future content to progress for players then I can see buying wins again.

If people would get in an endgame free company and not play this as a SOLO GAME, maybe they'd have a chance at getting their relic. It took my Free Company 3 nights of practice to get Titan down to a T and now we can run him no problem. People are too lazy when it comes to actually trying to beat content.

And you know, I love seeing people with Relic. And when they SUCK at playing that job with the relic, all I can do is laugh in their face and know they bought their win. I still love seeing Relic WHM throwing regen before every fight.

If people wish to sell, and people wish to buy, I have no qualms with it. It's a good way for players to make more gil and a FC member of mine did buy a Titan kill, with money he earned in the game (namely selling materials on the AH, and being a far better money manager than I'll ever be). Up to that he did Garuda/Ifrit HM just fine (like 3 attempts max for each, I think?) and just didn't want to DF pug Titan HM due to the horror stories people come up with out of there, and he had plenty of extra gil laying around.

Personally I won't buy a run, namely as I want to save money (measely 100k, but then again my highest is 37) for housing at a later date and I enjoy the experience of failing and learning ('tis why I'm often grabbed to go do Arah runs in GW2, or grabbed to do silly runs like taking fearless level 2's through GW2 fractals. It's silly, fun, wrought with death and often ended with success and laughs). On the other hand, I have a friend whom I would not feel ill of if he paid for a run. Not because he lacks skill, but because he can get some nasty latency (which showed in the SM fight, as he was clear of red circles/death on his screen, but the server said he was dead).

Is this the practice keeping RMT in business? I doubt it... granted, RMT was around in more force before this practice became widely available. And if it was, RMT would be more prevalent in GW2 where people do this exact same thing with the harder content (Selling runs for Arah so players can get achievements/tokens).

Only time I get annoyed with it is when one person is spamming chat offering these services every two seconds.

Personaly i have no problems with ppl buying titan runs.It's the same as when they buy the crafted weapon or to meld the materias.If they have money to burn let them do it.

But that's still a month or more away, some people NEED it now according to this thread. What they need it for is beyond me though when they talk about getting a group for titan is too difficult but what they fail to see is if you aren't going to put in the effort for titan then you're not going to put in the effort for coil either(something that needs more than a bunch of randoms far more). I guess standing around like a cool kid in a city or speed running cm/prae/ak is making a fine use of that new relic though when they were meant for gear far below it's ilvl.

My pride would never allow me to waste gill on people winning fights for me, it's the most basic form of lazy, it's no different from gill buyers, you don't want to work for it so you pay others to provide it for you, and just sit there and wait untill it's handed to you. in the end these people do not get any better or knowledge they just get a free ride.

But on the other side with titan i kind of understand it, PUGS are near impossible to win with, and people like me with no actual good FCs to join (because their are none) on my server they may not have a choice, it's all a matter of how badly they want that relic for the harder content after that they won't be able to do because they can't pay people for that (coil) so there is a dead end for "i buy everything" people.

In short, Who cares if it's not you doing it.

There's a list kept of every player that buys a run that then gets shared with the free company's serious about raid progression.

because i dont have the time to commit to logging in at a certian time - i log in when my real life doesnt need me - and if i happen to have the gil to pay for help, i will, UNLESS someone is kind enough to help me for FREE!! would never turn that down! im not insane! lol
