Another potentially awesome game does down the drain..

well there is not much to say about the end game, the game was designed for playing multiple classes coming to 50 grind cm, doing ak after getting your gear and relic doing coil. Problem is there are many ppl who only wanna focus on 1 class like me and you will reach the endline very quick. Thats the weak point of this game, besides that i can understand leveling many classes can be fun but if you reach lvl 50 you still need to grind cm,ak its still the same as with your first class its still boring.

I wanna say one more thing about jobs, there is no reason to take your job cristal off because no matter what cross skills you gonna take you end up weaker then your job.

A lot of people complaining are the people who jump to the next great MMO expecting it to be the best thing that ever existed and then get greatly disappointed when it's no different if not worse than the one they've been playing for years. Am I the only one actually wanting these guys to go back to their old games so that they can leave this one in peace for us to enjoy? You do not have to keep playing or paying, why do you feel you do?

The pace of the game is way to fast imo. But again, people complain they have real lives and don't want to invest hours upon hours on a game, the game gets designed around a faster pace, then people play hours upon hours on the game anyway and run out of content fast.

Myself, I would like to see the games pace slowed down, by like, a factor of 10. So reaching max level actually had meaning and felt like an accomplishment. I don't consider myself a hardcore player, but I finished every quest in the game (besides relic) and reached level 50 rather quickly. Yes I could level another class but fate grinding is extremely boring imo. Crafting currently has no place in the game outside of making the relic weapon quest items and melds. You simply level too fast and are handed gear so easily through quests and dungeons, to spend any time and/or gil on anthing pre 50, and at 50 its so easy to get gear its a waste to buy the crafted ilevel 70.

If you obsess over a treasure for ~350 hours crammed into a single month's worth of time, even a treasure will eventually start looking like a turd to you.

I find it surreal how many people are in the endgame phase, grinding out, complaining about repetition, gil issues, blabla. TBH I'm not sure if they understand how this game works because they rushed so fast to "the top", it's like they ignored the other 95% of the game.

Best game ever, subbed 6 months and I love the awesome story.

just kidding, I'll most likely be gone after this month and I thought the story was forgettable at best. Endgame and story has its own set of impressive issues and grindiness while the server side issues are easily debatable as the worst part of the game currently. Also, the next wave of content isn't what I'd call a productive choice for SE's user retention. Well whatever though, they mystify me with every decision anyways.

Because people want everything now, now, now so they rush to end game and wonder why a new game does have enough for them.

Another reason is that people want to be catered to their own liking and that ends up removing or changing things that some people actually enjoyed. But for the sake of satifying the majority that will never really be happy those people miss out. Ironically, the very next day the catered will find something else to dislike and complain about. Sad situation.

I miss how in FFXI the devs just put stuff out and if you liked it thats cool you can play, but if you didnt like it you can deal with it or move on. FFXI is still operating and getting expansions.. Speaks volumes..

With most people that's true. However there are a few special people who the muse speaks to through myth, art, movies, and yes even video games... which allows 'participation mystique'. All it takes is one such special person to make the game more than just a game. I am such a person.

I saw the same "lol rushing content" blah blah arguments on the secret world, SWTOR, Warhammer online and more, and those games all ended up falling off after 2-3 months.

Feel free to bash me or insult me, but if the game dies it is dead, and according to Yoshi, they wont even do F2P. So... If enough people leave I guess I just dont get to play FF14 anymore.

I don't know about WAR man. I played that and had multiple max level characters ( RR rank not included. Just general level. )

The only actual content was the RvR lakes, the quests were the most generic and lame. They did have the most unique new mmo mechanic that alot of games that released later took a page from though. :P

depends on how you play the game if you want to be lv50 as soon as you can and skip all of the crafting ya its going to get dull fast im in my 3rd week of playing and my main skill is only lv19 and having a blast take your time to enjoy the game you will get more out of the game.

FF XIV 1.0 would like to have a word with you. It did lack content so people did run out of content, but it was actually intended to have a shitload of "timesinks". Leveling 1 Class to 50 took 4+ Weeks in the beginning, not to mention how slow leveling Gathering/Crafting was and i loved it, but guess what.. people did complain that they can not rush to Endgame within 1 Week, people did complain that everything is not done within 1 week and so on.

You can not please the current Generation of Gamers, since they like to be fooded with a golden spoon and then complain that it does not have a diamond placed in the shaft.
