Summoner Question: Where should I spend my Myth tomes first?

Relic+1 is that big of an upgrade.

No, it's really not. I agree with T0rin earlier that it is an efficient upgrade regarding stats per myth tomes spent however the weapon damage modification coming from 1 whole set is much greater than 1 weapon upgrade.

Okay so I did a stat comparison between DL and AF2 gear:

Darklight

Int: 77
Vit: 76
Crit: 43
Det: 16
Ss: 49
Acc: 59

AF2

Int: 112
Vit: 94
Crit: 55
Det: 34
Ss: 30
Acc: 91

There is a difference of 35 Int/12 Crit/18 Det between DL and AF2. Compare this with Relic+1 (3 wpn dmg, 4 int, 2 det). That's why it's more attractive for me (who is not raiding Coil atm) to get 3 pieces at the onset and then the last 2 pieces following that. Just the first 3 pieces ALONE is a massive upgrade from DL. Do the additions yourself (head+chest+hands vs chest+hands).

You're seriously comparing the entire AF2 set (which costs 3135 Myth) to a Relic +1 which only costs 900 myth??

I did the math myself (see earlier post), where I break down the cost and benefit of AF2 head+body compared to Relic +1. There is no contest, Relic +1 is the best 'bang for your buck'. You just seem dead set on getting the whole set first regardless of anything, but your 'math' only further reinforces why it is a bad idea.

You seem to be missing the fact that I am not raiding Coil right now, don't plan on anytime soon, so I have the luxury of waiting for AF2 and sticking with normal Relic for the time being. I am almost at 2000 Myth tomes so the Chest+Helm+Hands is superior than Relic+1+ 2x 495 pieces. Add up the stats yourself.

I come from a D3 (plvl100 DH 300,000 DPS, other classes to 60 and 100k+ dps on a budget) and WoW (DK all content cleared up to Deathwing) so yeah, I value entire sets of armor over 1 weapon. I'm not obsessed with the "here and now" which is what this community currently is. If I did Coil, I might've upgraded to Relic+1, but I'm not (I'm on the 'waiting list')

Because ilvl90 gear is intended to do ilvl90 content comfortably (which is what Coil is. Crystal Tower in comparison is ilvl80 which is just right for ilvl80 Relic and ilvl70 gear) When Crystal Tower comes out, where do you think I will stand? I will have AF2 gear that's for sure. I'll have Relic+1 as well. What's the point of even going into Crystal Tower? I'll go in for fun. I won't need to go in there for upgrades. I'll be completely avg ilvl90. I'll also be able to waltz right into Coil and be the best geared of the group.

Like I said, people's mentality right now is "right here, right now, best bang for your buck single pieces" but they're not taking content into consideration and not looking at the overall picture. I'm looking to do Tower and Coil comfortably, so therefore my plan of ilvl90 gear/ilvl 80 weapon is better for the long term. Now as for the short term, like I said, I'm almost at 2000 myth tomes, so I'll be getting 3 pieces at the same time. Consider where we have to go to farm Myth tomes. ilvl 60 content right? Those 3 pieces will ensure that I run that content faster. You hit harder with those 3 pieces than compared to just a +1 Relic.

I literally could +1 my Relic and get 2 pieces from the set. However I have to weigh that versus 3 pieces from the set. Sorry the 3 pieces win out, the stats speak for themselves. From then on, I only need 2 more, and then the overall picture I painted above comes into play. I +1 after that, and it's icing on the cake.

No, it isn't.

You just want it to be.

If you wanted to be efficient with 2000 tomes, you'd do +1 and chest and get vanya hat.

If you don't do that then Relic +1 and 3x BiS accessories is one of your biggest bang for the buck. This is 2025 tomes, however.

No. You're under-valuing weapon damage. Relic+1 is the biggest upgrade for 900 tomes, period. When you pair that with another big upgrade, the chest, that would hands-down be the best upgrade. Go get a vanya helm.

Accessories are a big upgrade(+4 int +16 crit per, maybe some side stats), too. If you don't want to get a Vanya hat, it would be better to go 3x accessories and stay with DL. An accessory is a bigger upgrade than going from DL hands to AF2, and especially if you're going from DL/AK to DL/Myth.

Okay so..

What I'm getting is that since I have my Vanya chest, my AF+1 helm might be a good route to go?
