40 minutes wait til for Instances....really?

Hai, I'm a tank (at 50 as you can see) and i have to wait for 15-30 minutes for queues at primetime (longer on the weekends when I have more copious time to play,) with or without a full party ready to go. While this may or may not be a problem for everyone, it is completely ridiculous to have this reserved (aka limited amount of instances) instance problem.

This shit is pure bush league from one of the biggest game developers out there. The last patch was supposed to alleviate some of these issues, but I haven't seen any difference whatsoever. Considering Squenix has produced FF11, FF14v1 and FF14v2, you would expect them to get it right by now, or at least take a queue (get it, queue) from the dominant MMO and just fix their pure programming fubars by month one and then start working on game balancing.

Bottom line is the instance reservation system is garbage and should go. Nothing can really be done about tanks and healers queueing more aside from a prize bag like WoW has.

You paid for an account and probably 30 days of access, not instant queues and everything you can make up on top of your head (to keep it civil).

Just for reference, even with 5 player parties the queue times will be relatively unchanged. Sure, they'd go down a little, but not much. WoW has 5-man parties, with incentives for the role missing the most, and still has 30-60 minute dps queues. If you want no queue times for anyone, the only way is to abolish tank and healers so any 4 people are a party. That would make combat terribly dull and/or insanely hard.

There are just too few people willing to even TRY tanking or healing for the queue times to ever move down.

The argument of "don't like it, roll a tank/healer" doesn't work when you are leveling your alt jobs. Also; I'm in a FC of over 400 people. It's STILL not always possible to get a group.

I don't mind waiting, but when I literally wait for close to an hour just to try and advance the story, it gets tiresome.

The original Guild Wars had a similar concept where the main Missions had to be done with minimum 4 players, so this isn't exactly a new problem. Yes, it's very annoying, the reality is just that as we get less people playing the low level dungeons and with more DPS classes/jobs than Tank and Healer options, it's going to be a problem. GW tried to solve it with hireable AI henchman, and later the addition of AI controlled heroes (basically customisable henchman). Not a perfect solution, but it did help.

Also, just joining a LS of FC won't always solve the problems, you need to find like minded players. I'm currently levelling my Marauder so I can try tanking dungeons, but with my latency (connecting to EU servers from ZA is 180ms minimum, 250-250ms avg) it's a challenge, and I've found many players that don't exactly fall into the "great community" description.

If it makes you feel any better OP, I'm a healer and from lvl 30 up, it's been taking me 20, usually 30+ mins to get into a dungeon from the queue. ;x You may not believe that, but it's the truth. Oh and, bear in mind that you will only have to do it once for the story per character I guess. :)
