This Bard stacking thing needs to be dealt with

I don't get why the OP is upset? If it works, you go with it right? What do you want them to do, nerf the class into the ground so no one wants to play it?

I picked the bard because I liked the idea of a ranged mobile support class. When I started this game it seemed like the support part of the class was really lacking but I was still willing to give it a try. Now before I have even finished leveling, people are already raging for nerfs. The game has only been out a couple weeks good grief.

All I see are bard apologists. Imagine if it was optimal to stack 2 blm or 2 drg, people would be annoyed. I deally they should try to give each class a desirable niche useful on every encounter.

Then great, but in every MMO there is always things you want to have in your raid, In FFXIV bards songs are currently that you would at least have one even if there damage was poor, kind of a poor example but its similar to Heroism/timewarp or Battle resses in wow its just a staple to have in your raid comp,

Btw there are some guilds who currently use 2 BLM's just its rare. the most common setup I see is 2 bards 1 monk/dragoon and 1 BLM/summoner. I havent seen much so the sample size isnt huge im just going off friends guilds and twitch raids ive seen.

Well at least we knows bards are not the #1 DPS class...

And it was causing problems so they spread heroism to the mage and BM hunter. Obviously Bard songs are not gonna be spread so their effectiveness needs to either go down, or the better option is to apply a debuff that doesn't let affected players benefit from another song so bard stacking is redundant.

Do most encounters have enrage timers? I mean if there are, then bringing more than one bard would be problematic wouldn't it? I mean, the DPS of bards are subpar when compared to black mages so why bring more than 1?

Pretty sure song-less bard is top dps from what I've read.

Don't think they are. I heard it was black mage or summoner.

I mean you can just look at the numbers. Potency wise, bards have the lowest and our weapon damage is also the lowest.

We also have multiple dots, an auto attack, and River of Blood/Bloodletter, Bards dps isn't as spikey or bursty, but its all the numbers that add up.

Because two BRD gives their group unlimited MP and TP, and increases caster damage by 10-20%. If you have two casters, that's 20-40% more DPS.
Many end game encounters are also balanced around having to manage your TP and MP, which BRD invalidates. Healers can just pump all of their MP into Cure II/Adolasdljkasiwuo without any thought.
