It's not temporary.
If you don't like it, tough.
Just because you are too lazy to log back in , after you have been sucking up server and traffic by not even playing the game...
Honestly, jog on, the lot of you whining little sh*ts...

Are you mad?
Just the opposite!!! Instead the servers will be full of people playing because SE will allow more characters to be created due to AFKers being logged out. Which do you think lowers world performance more???
This is the perfect outcome for SE. They can cram more active players per server now because of auto-logout, and we get more lag.
No, it is not "standard MMO practice." The vast majority of MMOs allow you to stay loggedin as much as you want.Quote:
This is standrad MMO practice! WTF is wrong with you people? This should be in place even without the overpopulation issues. Login issues are gone right? For fucks sake it takes a total of 1 minute to log back in if you had this "rare" emergency. What are you, 5?
Also, the login issues aren't gone because of the timer, they're gone because they've added more worlds and increased server capacity.
I never got a single 1017 in the entire week following the first big maintenance, proving that this feature was unnecessary.
6 MMOs with no forced autologout:
FFXI
Maplestory
Vindictus
WoW, at least not when I played it years ago
D&D Online
LOTRO

It is really a sad state of affairs when the only defense people can come up with is to fling childish insults at anyone who opposes their view.Quote:
are you 5?
They are trying to fix a problem that was already solved to begin with- and it was only implemented because of a vocal minority. This feature doesn't need to exist, and even if it did, the limit is too short. "Just log back in" is not an acceptable response. If I can just log back in, there was no point in logging me out in the first place.
The perecentage of people idle for very long periods of time is not high enough to have a major impact on this. Considering the fact that even with these people, there was minimal problem with logging in last week, I'd consider it a safe bet that this "feature" is NOT necessary to ensure everyone is able to play.Quote:

I love to let my games open in background while I'm doing something else. I'll tend to play less FFXIV. A shame for the game :/
I still don't see the issue with this. If you afk for 30 minutes....just log back in? This is FFXI where you need to bazaar something for 24 hours straight. The queues have been lax, if even an issue now so this shouldn't be an issue. Suck it up, buttercup.
Again, I shoulldn't even ahve to "just log back in." There are no login issues, havent been since the last maintenance. There was no reason to put this feature in to begin with. The requests for this were being made when there was a genuine problem, but that problem has gone away, and thus so has the need for this feature. I will NOT suck it up. People QQe'd loudly to get this put in, but it's no longer needed and I will QQ loudly to get it taken out.
You may forget, many of us came from FFXI, a game that let you stay logged on as long as you want (and many people had good reasons to, for bazaaring0. This was NEVER an issue in that game, and won't be an issue here with servers with proper capacity and sufficient number. If they had enough worlds from day 1, this would never have been implemented, nor would anyone have complained about it. Now we have to deal with this annoyance, purely because people are whiny and don't understand how servers work, combined with SE's faliure to provide enough capacity at launch.
TL;DR: The issue with this is it's a "feature" that is tying to solve a problem that more or less doesn't exist anymore.
As late as this is, it makes me happy, because now I don't have to go to Dragonhead and Revenant's Toll and see 80+ people standing there doing nothing.
I can log back in 100% without any errors or problems now, literally no reason for an AFK log out timer. Why was this added? It's just an annoyance I don't need now.
