You should always fix the core problem, rather then develop workarounds that don't make sense. If input lag is an issue on initiating a BR, then they should fix the input lag - not make up unnecessary control schemes to avoid it.

I don't really think you can fix latency for now, because this is not a FF14 issue, it's an internet problem.
Maybe, when we'll use a neural interface, the problem will be solved.
For now, we can only use tricks to hide this limit. A global cooldown with a queue was better?
I don't see the actual system so troublesome. We need 5-6 seconds for a full BR, thus we are full of time to click triangle or circle or whatsoever is "menu".
It's not latency...I can have 20-30ms S and R, which is a round trip of 1/20th of a second and it can still take a couple seconds to respond to it even when I have nothing else going on. Just like the interfaces for selling items and such, this is another thing that needs to be looked at when they optimize the ui/engine/server performance/whatever....
