Gold spammers are taking advantage of SEs limits.

Making it easier to report/block would indeed help. You can send a tell or invite to a group by simply right-clicking a name, so why aren't the block/report options there as well? The current methods work, but after doing it 5 times for every zone, people get tired of it and tend to just ignore the spam. A clickable option would be much easier and therefor used more often. I also agree there should be level limits or usage time limits on shout and yell.

I hate going to cities, you can't communicate with anyone. It's pure gil spam. You block one (somehow) and more pop up like weeds. This needs to be fixed now.

Right click block or report spam would be ideal.

So why has a version of the above not been implemented in-game?

Also, if the IP isn't North American, move those accounts to their proper region asap.

I actually logged out because I was sick of seeing gold spam.

I think two things would help the players out a lot while SE works on a better solution. First give the players a right-click submenu option to blacklist players. Make it quick and easy for players to ignore them. Second they need to make it where they cant post more than so many times in a given time limit. ( not exactly sure the tech term for it but i think y'all know what I'm talking about). This will limit the amount gold spammers can post and players can quickly ignore them. The only thing I can think of to completely stop gold spammers is for SE to incorperate buying gold into their paid services to deter players from going to their sites, while I'm not really for this options its all I can think of.......anyone got any better ideas?

This is really driving me crazy. They just kept popping up like undead as soon as I BL one! Now whenever I get /tell notification sound I thought it's a spam! I'm actually registering the notification sound as spam!

SE should hire in game mods of sorts, just regular players to report spammers. They could make a one click feature for people of that status and maybe offer small incentives.

Yes. Although it shouldn't work that quickly - one or even five people should not be allowed to ruin one person's game because we all know that would be abused. I would opt for a full communication silence after 15 people report the user. It should happen very quickly. When you report someone, it should send any chatlogs from that user's name along with the report, and if there is no wrongdoing (ie, the person reporting them was trolling) then the people doing the reporting should be given a one hour (minimum) game-ban for their sins. That should be there only to act as a deterrent to trolls.

Making /Sh or /yell lvl based is not a good idea imo... what happend if u decide to lvl a craft from 0?? not being able to sh until lvl 10 or so will be awfull... i think there must be a better way of dealing with this issue.

So the thing here is RMT ppl being able to introduce chars without any limitation and that will not change... charging for every toon, increasing the game price etc. wont stop the fact that there is a huge market for rmt in MMORPG's... The real problem with them now is the horrible spamming!! and the solution to that is being able to blist ppl faster... i play in PS3 and when i select the name of someone using the chat, a quick menu appears... Why not adding a new option that says "Black list"?? with this little fix, ppl will only waste a few mins selecting and choosing... Spams dont need to be a reason to stop playing this amazing game.

I hope this shit ends when SE starts charging to play.

Rules / Charges don't hurt GoldSellers as much as it's going to hurt SE. As long as they can scam or made some cash, they are good to create another 10 or so charaters to spam. It's just another small "fee" for them because they are focusing on making money / hacking creadit card or w/e they are doing.

But for SE, think for people that are still considering to buy the game or already bought it buy are trying it out for the first month. When they see the rules and fees, they will get turned off. It's not their (people that are considering or currently playing) fault and they ended up have to obey by those rules and fees. Another reason is that it wouldn't make the game anymore interesting and fun to play. Example: Asking for help, guild recruitment, selling item, information inquiry, etcs. Hell even if a low level can troll and sing in the "shout" channel is somewhat entertaining. It just makes the game more "alive" i guess.
